I just moved to the neighborhood and TWICE I have been hassled by people for not wearing a mask WHILE EATING. The first time, it got so bad that I was jumped in their parking lot and had my phone stolen. So, that's fine. Didn't blame the business, even though they refused to give me a pen to write down the license plate of the attackers. Today, I was literally eating and some woman yelled at me to put a mask on. The girl at the counter (who acted annoyed to even be there, in the first place. The staff has been so rude both times I've been there) had to come out and tell the woman I don't have to wear one bc I was eating. This customer kept bugging me and then degraded me, WHILE I WAS EATING. So, I told her to mind her effing business. It turned into ME having to leave for sticking up for myself. There's no doubt in my mind that this place allowed milkshakes to be poured on the heads of black people, 40 years ago, and I HOPE TO GOD THAT IN-N-OUT TAKES ALL OF THEIR BUSINESS AND THEY HAVE TO CLOSE. Vanilla Malt and a Humboldt with fries! This place is Fresh Freeze not Fast Freeze. They make your food to order, that means you have to wait for meat to grill! So wonderful to have a burger joint still grilling. We need more places like Fresh Freeze. We came on a busy night, they had a lot of phone ins before us. We waited about 30 minutes, well worth the wait! The ambiance is nostalgic and when you enjoy your company it's even better. Locals know to call in if they don't want to sit and wait but need a great burger! The girls were working hard and boosted each other's moral to get through the intense amount of burgers, fries, shakes, sundaes & cones. There are 2 windows one for just ice cream and the other indoors for both food and ice cream. I order mine with food but if you want ice cream first I think the other window will be better for you. Note to Owner: A young professional looking man with a party of 5 ordered 5 shakes, burgers and fries. This party was the order before my party of 4 with equivalent amount of food. This man harassed the staff about the "long" wait he wouldn't leave the counter for nearly 10 minutes and demanded the name of the manager and number of the owner. This was the most intense form of food service harassment I had seen since YouTube! I wish I video taped it myself. The young woman managing last night was holding all his shakes and brought them over to the counter when he went off on her. One shake was even laying flat on the tray while he leaned over the counter (too close for comfort) trying to Intimidate her for his money back on the entire order. Every patron watched him intensely waiting to step in. In fact we had group talks amongst us strangers who all witnessed this about how horrible that was of him. She kept her eye contact only on him. This young woman handled him like a professional and any employer would be proud to have such a sweet, dignified employee managing their business. She didn't flinch to his bullying tactics and just did what she could to make him happy. I've had takeout from here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The wait for me has never been longer than 10 mins. I'm from Southern California and this is a damn good burger! I love the buttery buns and that they load it up with pickles and mayo. The fries are just ok, but the burgers and shakes are delicious! We went here today to get fries and ice cream and received possibly the worst customer service of our lives. The ice cream window was closed to ordering so we headed inside. The girl at the counter (fairly sure her name was Lindsay) didn't greet us when it was our turn to order, just stared at me with her pen and pad. So I place the order and pay, about 30 seconds later she hands me a lukewarm order of fries. My wife politely asked if she could have a fresh order, Lindsay looked very angry and began to argue that they were fresh. I pointed out the fact that they were obviously not cooked to order by how quickly we got them and she begrudgingly asked the cook for a new order. She brings us our ice cream in the meantime and one of the two cones are missing. We tell her this and she says nothing, heading back to the other side of the shop to get the other cone, but not before pausing to shoot us a dirty look first. (At this point one of the people waiting behind us said "wow, she's rude"). The cone was "dipped" they are served upside down in a cup. The one we had to ask for was broken, so I just asked for a spoon. However I couldn't help but wonder if Lindsay, in all of her silent rage severed the cone from the ice cream on purpose. I have many years of restaurant experience myself and people like her have no place in the business. She won't last long but I can guarantee that in that short future she'll manage to upset many more customers, likely turning some off to this business entirely. My roommate and I ate here while on vacation in the area. We loved our drinks, I got a mocha milkshake and she got a rootbeer float. Our food came in smaller portions just like the drive ins back in the 50s, the food was OK but not the greatest I've tried. I always make a point of stopping here when I'm in Henderson Center. Don't come in expecting massive, sloppy burgers - these might be on the petite side (check the patty weight before you order so you aren't surprised), but they taste the way you know a burger should. The bacon is thick, the patties are flavorful, and everything else is fresh and in perfect proportion. The dining area is small and can be kind of chilly, so I order to go. I am only giving this a 1 because I have to. Went in after son's football game since his team mates we're going. I asked if we could do a up charge to one of the combos for a malt instead of the drink. When we got the order no fries for any of the meals and I did ask for ice cream dipped cones instead of the drinks for two others. I went back and asked about fries and I was told she asked me if I wanted fries?? That was the whole reason for the up charge. Then my son didn't like the malt he picked and the other woman at the cash register said nope once we make it we don't re make it. Worst customer service I have ever had. The hamburger were small and not even put together nicely . I paid extra for the fries for 40$ for a treat for my kids it was a disaster not sure if it is because my kids are black or cashier was just being rude. But diffently will never be going back. Everything is really good. My biggest complaint is that potions are really small or really big. Nothing in between. The only consistent thing it how overpriced everything is. Just so you know, the only thing anyone should ever order at Fresh Freeze is ice cream. It is called Fresh Freeze for a reason. I am giving this place 5 stars because it is a must visit while you are in the area, and I have tons of fond memories of visiting with family and enjoying a dip cone or a milk shake. The ice cream here is soft serve, and the shakes are ginormous and soooo good! I particularly like the rocky road. Expect to pay a little more for your ice cream, but it is not a McDonald's shake or cone, trust me. Check out the old model cars all over the restaurant side of the house while you wait, and then enjoy the deliciousness of actual ingredients- not syrups (other than hot fudge haha)- in your dessert! read more

The food is nothing special, frozen supplies from Sysco like most places, frozen, thawed and fried, except for their amazing corn dogs. They make their own batter, dip the dogs, and have a special corn dog fryer. The corn dogs and ice cream/ shakes are about the only things that are worth going for. read more

Love this place! I always get a deluxe bacon cheeseburger and a cherry lime squeeze. Fries if I am really hungry. Shakes are like a cup of ice cream, yumm. They're slower that you would expect for "fast food" but know that it is because they are making your burger really well. They even toast and butter the buns. read more

A very cool '50s food window/drive up burger joint with some tasty food. Like my fellow Yelpers have already said, the "Since 1951" Fresh Freeze looks straight out of... well... 1951. I love the late '50s and early '60s music that plays on the PA system, as well as the delicious food! The fast food/malt shop style burgers are yummy, as are the hearty chili cheese fries and thick, tasty milk shakes. The 1950's decor and atmosphere don't feel like some kind of Disneyesque kitsch, they place feels like it genuinely hasn't changed since the '50s... and that's a very good thing! There is some indoor seating near the order counter, as well as an outdoor walk-up window (near outdoor seating) for ice cream, fries, malts, etc. The Fresh Freeze is one of the only genuine '50s American malt shop restaurants that I have ever been to (I wouldn't count Mel's which has been remodeled many times, or Johnny Rocket's which is a joke,) and certainly is a credit to Eureka. I don't normally eat fast food, yet Fresh Freeze is a place that I definitely enjoy visiting to every now and then. A very fun spot in Eureka. read more

Authentic 1950's diner. The music and decor tastefully reflect the 50's. The chocolate dipped cones are good, but I go for the mini tacos. These tiny tacos are mouth watering goodness. The burgers are pretty tasty too. The wait for your food can vary, so I knocked off a star for the time I had to wait half an hour to eat.
