Wow. This place is gooooooooood. I ordered a single patty with Swiss cheese and the usual fixings. (Lettuce. Tomato. Onion.) It was better than local fast food for sure. This burger place is one of the best around! I always get my burgers and fries delivered to my house from Fresh Press and they never disappoint. I usually get a burger with lettuce and onions. I personally like my burgers plain but if you want more veggies/sauces they have a variety of options. The burgers are never soggy and the vegetables on it are always crunchy. Their French fries are very crispy and taste pretty fresh. I would also try out their hot dogs; specifically the Chicago styled hot dogs. The tomatoes and hot dog it's self are very fresh. I heard from many people that this place does get busy pretty fast. But if you have the patience to wait in the it's definitely worth. (I also heard they are pretty fast). Service: friendly! Speed: great! Did not rush the burger (which is a plus trust me) or take forever. 5 minutes to cook and prep Taste: this was an amazing burger. I honestly have only eaten 1 burger better then this and that's Shake Shack @san tan. I put this just above In-N-Out which if you know me, that's saying a lot. Place of Business: very clean and really open. I felt safe walking in here and knowing these owners keep it clean, especially during this covid times. I like that they make the payment processing really easy and utilize Apple Pay technology(again big during these Covid times) Areas to Improve On: honestly there really wasn't much but any business can always get better. I would recommend really displaying your top 3 burgers..like the BYO options if we are feeling crafty but having your chef favorites are something I'm always looking fwd. This place opened in December 2019 in the site vacated by Subway in a relatively sleepy corner of Apache Junction. I don't want to start off sounding a negative note so I will immediately give kudos to anyone who opens a new independent non-chain restaurant anywhere and remind any naysayers that a smart entrepreneur has to tread a fine line between being in a busy but high rent area or not spending a bundle until they iron all the bugs out of their business plan. Fresh Press only has a paper sign out in front and no graphics inside the restaurant so their first challenge is to build an identity and a regular clientele in Apache Junction, known as a challenging business environment because of the very large temporary resident base. I also give kudos to ANYONE who opens a basic hamburgers only place in town, the lack of which I have been bemoaning for a long time. I've reviewed some sit-down places that make a good burger but the trouble is they are all sit-down restaurants so unless you go to McDonalds or Burger King your quick burger options in town are basically nil. I gave this place a few weeks before I stopped in because I know those first few days can be a disaster for any new place, and any reviews probably come from the owner or his family. I waited and was surprised not to see any Yelp reviews at all so now's the time to share my opinion. I stopped in outside of the lunch rush so the fact that the place was completely empty except for the owner and grill man wasn't surprising but yet a little troubling considering it was after the holidays and the first nice day in several weeks. The two guys are friendly and of course the complete opposite of the corporate chain stereotype of "would you like fries with that" memorized script greeting. They took time to explain the menu which is actually necessary because for a place that only sells one product (a hamburger) the menu is much too over-complicated. It's not that there are too many options it's just that they are all jumbled together on a hand written chalkboard. It boils down to you can have one of three sizes of burger with your choice of 22 (whew!) toppings or for an extra charge 12 optional toppings but I don't think I saw anywhere exactly how much that extra charge is. OR you can get a kids meal or a senior meal (which appear to be the same thing) for a fixed price. Then there are the usual Coke drinks and a few bottled drink choices. Now (excuse the pun) here's my beef, we ordered about as basic a meal as you can get and it was $20 for two people. That's too high for a basic burger in AJ and it's what will keep me from just dropping in on a whim. If you double or triple size your burger you can expect your tab to skyrocket a lot higher. For that price I'll go to one of the excellent sit-down places in town. At this point you want to know how my burger was, and I don't write phony reviews so the truth is it was okay but I think it needs work. My entire burger felt wilty/soggy to the point of falling apart. Some people may like that, and personal choice is wonderful, but that's not my choice. They don't claim that they cut their own fries (they don't) and they also were okay but slightly bland. The burger is served in aluminum foil and the fries are served in a Dixie cup, I have no idea if environmentalists consider that good or bad. I'm going to rate this place a four because I don't want to discourage anyone from trying it or take anything away from my respect for someone opening a "local" hamburger place. I wish him luck. Whether or not AJ supports such a place is anyone's guess. I'll give it another try in a while and see what I think then and update this as needed. read more

Great location, situated between the Goodwill and Cricket stores, there is plenty of parking at that end of the lot. I appreciate the fact the burgers are smashed in front of me rather than preformed patties from the freezer. The person who took my order said their beef is imported from South Dakota (I assume it's higher quality meat). I really like they have ton of toppings to choose from and can customize your burger any way you want. I know this might sound a little silly, but I appreciate the fact they had some rock and roll music playing...most restaurants play boring pop/top-40. I believe this place only opened a few weeks ago and are off to a great start. I don't go to Apache Junction all that often, but next I'm that part of town, I'll be sure to grab a bite. read more

Best burger and fries I've ever had delivered. Expectations are low when get delivery so way excited when the fries were still hot and crispy. Ordered the Banzai & Inferno burgers, both with an extra patty, the extra patty made for a couple of monster burgers. The flavors of both burgers were on point without going too far, sweetness from the Banzai and heat from the Inferno. Looking forward to the leftovers later tonight. Will make plans to eat in next time, if they were that delicious after the 15 min delivery time, can't wait for how good it will be fresh off the grill. read more

We tried ordering from this place on a lazy weekend afternoon. We had the all American burger, Chicago hot dog, New York hot dog, and Sonoran hot dog. The hamburger was pretty standard and ingredients quite fresh, though it would be nice if the patty was little less done. The Chicago hot dog was a hit! I had been craving a juicy burger and this place did not disappoint. Not only was my burger delicious, but I was also able to get it with a gluten free bun! So the bun was actually not bad at all for being GF. It held together and was big enough to hold the burger and other fillings. I ordered the Sunrise burger. I chose well because it was so delicious. Don't be discouraged by appearance or location, its a strip mall, no-frills place that is almost dive-y, a definite throwback focused on making very good burgers! Lots of burger choices from menu, but you can also build your own. Burgers are better than Five Guys; but, fries not as good as Five Guys. Sweet potato fries choice is available, and decent. Lots of loaded fries choices available also. And loaded dogs, though we didn't sample any of them so cannot comment there. New locally owned burger joint in A.J. First time for us yesterday. Now open for sit down. Had the Senior combo which is the standard "classic" cheeseburger, fries, and fountain drink. Custom choices are not available with Senior combo so we didn't take advantage of all the options and there are a lot of options. The senior combo offers the standard fixings (american cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles). Enjoyed the heck out of the burger. Patty was very juice. Excellent for a basic cheeseburger. By the time we had finished ordering at the counter, there were 6-7 people behind us. The burger options were unique. My husband and I each ordered a different burger and the Sonoran fries. I went in with a friend after a hike at Superstition Mountains, at 2pm-ish on Friday. There was no other customer at that time. But I already saw the 4.5 stars on Yelp. So I knew it couldn't be bad! I ordered Blue Cheese burger as did my friend. I also had fries. And WOW! it was all so good! It is a little more expensive than typical fast food places, but I think the quality of the burger is ...definitely better. The atmosphere isn't much to speak of though. It looks like old subway furniture moved in. But who cares! the food is good! The customer service was awesome. The owner- at least I think he is the owner - greeted us and explained a few things for us before ordering food. Too bad I live so far away. Love this place and everything about it! Staff is great and food is delicious! They accidentally didn't put nacho cheese on one ofour burgers. The owner came running outside after us to let us know they forgot the cheese. He offered to make the burger correctly or get us extra cheese. We declined because it wasn't that big of a deal to us but the fact they realized and tried to make it right before we got in our car to leave means he cares about his business!
