Each time I visit with my client at 201 OCR, we order from or eat in this little gem of a cafe in their building.

Don't tell Ralphie, shhhh! Yup! It exceeded my expectations. Keep in mind it's not in a visible spot, But finding it was half the fun. I want to thank Graham for being patient with me and my non social media self. I couldn't find a current menu because I only have Yelp. And he was kind enough to text me the menu. Awesome! Buuuuut I also popped his cherry! His Groupon cherry, that is. Hahaha! I was his first customer to use a Groupon. So the protocol was to call or text your order in advance and call when you get to the cone (yeah a cone, as in construction cone which you all know I live & breathe LOL) & he'll bring the food out to you. He called it a ghost kitchen. I thought he was referring to the Schmitt's farm haunted house & maze, but I was wrong. A ghost kitchen, he explained is a delivery-only restaurant. A food truck. Orders placed by phone are picked up by a delivery driver, or yourself and enjoyed off-premise. Now the food. Aaaaah the food. So FREAKIN' good! The shrimp w/ crispy potatoes didn't make it to Ruland Rd/Colonial Springs Rd. I was headed back home south of Sunrise Hwy. But those dayum shrimp with the lemon aioli were so good and the crispy potatoes with the sumac!? Channeling my native ancestry I've harvested wild sumac every year, it's getting harder to come by. But I digress. Even though I'm very familiar with sumac I've never used it on potatoes. I will now! Opened up a whole new taste profile for me. I love when that happens! Then I had the Grilled Flank Steak with Gorgonzola, Pickled Red Onion & Arugula. The steak was flavorful & tender. While the Gorgonzola enhanced the the steak without overpowering it and the crunch of the pickled onions & peppery arugula were perfect. I personally would've liked a little more steak but I won't quibble. And don't let me forget the fries. I'm not a big fry person but these were exceptional. Get 'em! But wait! I'm not done. I had to try the bread pudding. I mean how can I give a full review without all courses being tried? Crispy & creamy it was a great ending to a most delicious meal. Do it! In my opinion this is a spot worth travelling to. I don't say that about many places. But FNG gets my destination meal approval. I don't have FB, IG or any other social media but I do Yelp! So here ya go! Thanks for the awesome food Graham! 12-5-2020

The staff and event organizers were on point with the timing of the event. Service was on point with taking and serving the kids food first followed by the adults. The event had a set menu for adults and kids. For the kids order we got the hot dog, which came with chips, pickles, and apple slices. For the adults, my husband got the combo consisting of #39 half sandwich with fries and I got the #55 half sandwich with the breaded chicken with chicken soup. We also had ginger ale, diet coke and strawberry lemonade. My husband finished the entire dish. I just ate the chicken noodle soup which was generous and it hit the spot for me. I ate my hot sandwich en route home which was nice and comforting. Brownies were served at the end, which we took our portion home. Food quality was great, it can get pricey. We had a great experience and would return if there was another event since it's a bit of a drive to get here.

I got the rainbow cookies, pignolia cookies, and cannolis and we scarfed each of them down. They were delicious! My favorite this from here is their prosciutto bread. They were out of the one from the bakery section but had some in the fridge. We heated them in the oven and it was just as good and only about $6-7 for each. Highly recommend!

My brother in law tells me, they opened a place called Pino's in Dix Hills! Nah, can't be the place. Sure enough, "Pino's" is the new location of Salpino's in Dix Hills! Is it really Dix Hills? It's so close to Huntington and my wife went to walt whitman high school. This stripmall back in the day, my father in law would get bagels and the NY Times every Sunday. To have this beautiful market in the old Pathmark spot warms my heart. We swung by on a Saturday to check out the new digs. The new location is big, there's a large deli counter, bakery section and meat department making homemade sausages. My wife starts shopping and zeros in on a few items like fresh lamb sausages? I see frozen pizzas from Italy (that's on sale) and grab two for late nite snacks with my sons. I order at the deli two heroes, Son of a Peach and the The Crispy Caprese sandwich. The counterperson tells me, its going to take a while to prep, he has to fry the tomatoes. I'm not in a rush, take your time young man! While we're waiting, another deli guy tells us to try the pastrami at the other end of the counter. He's slicing it up now. Be still my heart. The pastrami? Man.. I loved it. I was just at Katz (They used my picture on Yelp for a few months), there's no need to make a comparison. It's an Italian deli. I think the pastrami was very good and we brought a nice amount home. Interesting, I was told Mr. Salpino himself was slicing the pastrami?? I just dig that, my dad owned a supermarket in the Hamptons and I know how proud he's feeling opening a new location. Back to sandwiches! Son of a Peach sandwich? 10 Yelp stars. packed with Prosciutto, arugula, burrata, Sicilian peaches and finished with a hot honey drizzle. It's by far my favorite sandwich. The Crispy Caprese sandwich, breaded and fried mozzarella and breaded and fried tomatoes with a pesto drizzle. My wife and I each take a bite, wow. Just wow. Killer sandwich and here's something I have to mention. Pino's is using quality ingredients, that's why their sandwiches pop. My niece is home from college, I picked up dessert for the night at the bakery section. Lobster tails stuffed, each stuffed with cannoli cream, pistachio cream and custard. C'mom now! so soo good! Here's the thing about any Italian market. The people are so friendly. The woman checking us out is answering questions and telling us about the catering they offer. Pino's? You totally rocked it. Welcome to Huntington! (Eh, Dix hills) Now come to Stony Brook

They have a huge free parking lot and the inside decor is very clean, modern, bright and beautiful. This would be a great place to grab a bite and/or drink while catching up with a friend or even to study. After browsing their many choices, I settled on a pistachio frapp and the turkey and cheddar sandwich (with avocado added for additional cost). Everything on their menu looked good and if you're a pistachio fan like me, they have a decent amount of pistachio items on the menu. Prices seemed on par with what a cafe would charge though I felt the croissants were a bit on the pricier side. The frapp was good though I wished it was sweeter and had a little more pistachio flavor to it. The sandwich, especially with the added avocado was a little on the smaller side but absolutely delicious, fresh and filling. The staff member that helped me with my order was very nice and helpful, even updating me why my drink was taking too long (they had made the wrong size initially). After you place your order (they have a free rewards program also), you're given one of those devices that vibrate when your order is ready. I noticed they have a drive thru (definitely will try this one day!) which is great for those times you don't want to get out of the car, are in a hurry or have a little one in the car that's napping or something. I definitely want to return in the near future to try other menu items!
