Looked for an out-side the box restaurant with a great food option and this was the place. The restaurant manager, Kevin, helped with food selection and it was a great experience. Kevin and Shalise were very helpful in the dish selection and the end result was perfect, not too filling and not too light. Great location at the entrance of Cumberland Mall right across the parking lot from Costco. The food here is significantly better quality than anything in the food court, but it will cost double the price. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious with a nice layout and window/outdoor seating. Service can be hit or miss but not a deal breaker. The food quality is great and that makes up for a lack of training and or effort. In our world today it's hard to make it out here. Food prices have greatly increased and so when you spend the kind of money to eat out you really want the quality and service to be dependable. In this case you take a bit of a chance. Kevin chooses when he will give good customer service instead of treating customers as though they are valued and appreciated. He lied about the dressing that I ordered. I ordered bleu cheese dressing and instead of giving me that, he put crumbles in my ranch. Then he accused the GM ( who wasn't there). It looked just like Ranch with crumbles in it so I tasted it before I left and told him that. He said oh- he shrugged his shoulders. I replied he shouldn't say he doesn't care. He said , 'well people complain'. Not sure what kind of answer that was but ok...I actually came in because the day before, the salad had rotten lettuce and peanuts ( high allergy and could cause death). He didn't care about that either. Kevin is a liar and a jerk. He was only supposed to be replacing the salad that had rotten lettuce in it just the day before but instead of apologizing, he said he wanted the salad back. I had already been told by the GM that he would take care of me so it shouldn't have been an issue for Kevin, the low level , assistant with an ego problem. In the pics, he gave me two ranch dressings and when I called him out, he made me wait for an additional 10-15 mins and then gave me the correct dressing. That's why they look so different. However, the General Manager, Jaron, was extremely apologetic and went above and beyond to ensure I received the best service and the highest quality of my desired entrée. Not a fan, this was my first time visiting this spot. I was not that impressed with what I ordered. It was basic romaine lettuce with grilled chicken. When I got my salad the cheese (Parmesan) was sprinkled so thick on the salad it was like doused with sand crystals. I tried eating a little bit by bit but the cheese was so overwhelming it killed the flavor I'd the other portions that was on my plate. Had not eaten all day from a busy work start so that further impacted my experience especially after this was recommended from a friend who works nearby. The order came out quickly and was very nicely presented on the plate. They had already tossed the salad in the dressing which I like, but make a note if you don't want it tossed to let them know. The avocado is a little sparse, but still added some flavor when I got a bite of it. The southwest salad is a blend of sweet, spicy and crunchy which all blended so well. There is a small croissant served on the side of the salad which had a sweetness to it. I definitely could eat more of that bread, though I should probably stay way from the bread . My fiancé and I have been here a couple of times and both times we dined in. Customer service is good, all the staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean, they make sure the tables are cleaned off shortly after customers leave. I have tried several menu items including the Tomato Mozzarella Panini, which was just ok, a tad too much cheese for me. My fiancé's favorite item to order is the Grilled Salmon Panini, the combination of toppings makes it a very tasty flavorful meal. He usually gets the chips with his Panini and I have ordered apples with mine. I have also tried the Blackened Lime Shrimp which comes over Asian Slaw the description sounded better than what the shrimp actually tasted like, it wasn't bad, it was just ok. Another small plate that I've tried is the Almond Crusted Seared Tuna. The tuna was cooked perfectly, seared on the outside and rare inside, some much more expensive 4 star restaurants can't seem to cook tuna correctly. The seared Tuna was decent, the sauce overpowered the dish, not the best sauce for tuna. Overall, I think this is a nice spot to come to if you are looking for a fast meal but don't want to ruin your diet totally. I have not been to FRESH TO ORDER in more than six years. The menu is almost completely different and for the better. My last visit was for lunch and I probably has a burger or something like that. This time around I arrived around 4:00 PM and was having an early dinner. There might have been a shift change going on as there were several dirty tables and the only warm body in the dining room was the host at the register taking my order. A short time later the waitress that brought my Salas arrived as well. I ordered the ASIAN SALAD and added BLACKENED CHICKEN TENDERS as well. The presentation was awesome and I enjoyed it very much. Other than dirty tables, the only challenge I had was the way many restaurants present you with options for tipping before you are served and experience your meal. The host just glared at me while I was deciding if I was going to tip. The concern I had was if I did not tip, who knows how my order might of turned out.
