Visited Friar Tux in Brea last week to get the account set up for our groomsmen. As you walk in, you must check in via a QR code. It was a Thursday, and they were semi busy. A gentleman came up amd said that the store manager, Faith would be right with us. They asked a couple questions and then asked us to fill out a form with all the names of the guys. After about 5 minutes, Faith came and started talking to us about the wedding. She asked about colors and we decided to go with a Cobalt blue for the guys. We had previously asked about all the blue schemes, but they only had 2, a cobalt or navy. One of the reasons I wanted to go with Friar Tux was because I know they have multiple locations so if the guys live in areas different from ours, the locations are still accessible. Another reason was that I thought they had many options available. Faith said that for renting there were 2 blues and for buying there were 2 blues. I really did not like this. I envisioned differentiating the groomsmen from the groom, but that was not necessarily possible when there are so little options, not to mention those blues were almost similar. Next, we chose the tuxedo (only one option) gor the groom. When it was time to try it on so we could see what it would look like, they did not have his size available in the coat or the pants in his size. They ended up fitting him in a black coat and black pants. This took a while, we could have just not done this part until they had the items in his size. Other than choosing the items for the groomsmen, for the groom it was almost a waste of time. All in all, service from staff and Faith was great. They did the best they could given the circumstances.... the product availability and selection... if this is what you're looking for, this is NOT the place. My fiance wanted to be done and over with so we did decide on just sticking with this option but if there were more stores that had more locations with greater selection, I would have definitely gone elsewhere. read more

I can't believe I didn't think of this last year. My son was in dire need of a suit for Homecoming. I was afraid we would not be able to order something on time because we went the Sunday before the dance, meaning 6 days to order something that would arrive on time. Low and behold, they made it happen. They were able to get us a 2nd fitting on the Friday before the dance and it was perfect. Everything fit really well and we were satisfied with the end product. Thinking back on the whole process, it is pretty accommodating. You get fitted for your jacket, vest (if needed), and pants. The shirt wasn't there but they took accurate measurements to ensure they ordered the right size. You also get to try on the shoes if they have your size. You can order the whole bundle which we did. It included the shirt, vest, jacket, tie, pants, and shoes. Oh, and it came with cuff links. Since they knew it was a Homecoming dance, our school received a 20% discount on the whole order. We had to return it the following day after the dance which I thought was still very convenient. I will definitely go back here next year when my son attends Prom. Make sure to ask for Faith or Manny, they are great. Manny was great with my son, dunno if it was because they share the same name or what but my son loved him. Friar Tux of Brea asked me top provide feedback request form via email to fill out. I thought this might be a better forum to share on. I am not a one star review yelper but when things are not good they simply aren't. My friend recently got married and he decided to rent suits for his entire bridal party, of which I was one of them. He also decided to pay on our behalf which was an awfully kind thing to do. Because of this, I took great lengths to make sure that the transaction would be a smooth one and that no issues would occur. Now for the story to begin... Day of pick up: It was highly recommended that I try on my suit to make sure that there weren't significant changes from the fitting. Every other groomsmen that visited other Friar Tux's to pick up their suits spoke to how much feedback they recieved and how the person they worked with ensured that they got the right product. What I got was a look of disdain and the feeling that I was a real bother for trying on the suit. I asked to confirm what the package included and the response was "don't worry everything is there". I had to message others to confirm that I recieved everything I needed. This felt like something that could have been easily checked by a team member but instead the onus was put on me and that I was at fault for not knowing what was included in my package. There may be some merit to that, but it put me in the position of feeling like a burden to the team when I am actually the customer. Day of drop off: no problem, they told me leave it on the rack, I did. Days after: Repeated emails saying I did not return my suit. Wait what? Emails indicating that my friend would incur late fees for not returning the suit. Sent an email back, no response. If this was my own rental, I wouldnt feel to bad, but remember, my friend paid for it. It's been a couple days, the emails continue coming. Called the store, they said everything would be fine. ... but would not put it in writing. Still waiting for a confirmation that my suit was recieved, have not recieved one yet. My husband and I got invited to a gala and we needed to come up with a tuxedo in short order. I called the store ahead and they assured me that we could purchase a tuxedo in time for our event. The associate on the phone stated we could shop the selection in store and if they didn't have our size it could be ordered and sent to our home within 2-3 business days. Later that day, we went to the store and we explained our situation to our sales associate. He simply pointed to what they had in store but was not engaged in our experience. He did not walk us to the areas nor explain to us the difference in styles. I pulled two examples and he stated one was not available to purchase in time. I got frustrated and pulled all the jackets myself to the desk asking if there was a difference in the jackets and he said they were all the same. This sales associate didn't want to be there. He didn't even have his phone on him to be a distraction- he actively chose to be unengaged! This was really unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. At the end of the visit, we did purchase a tuxedo. This is absolutely the last time we visit this store and we would caution others to consider other locations. read more

First off, credit and thanks to Faith and Jocelyn for their great communication and excellent customer service. They really took their time to explain the process and give recommendations on styling. I actually wound up making a few visits here before finalizing- as there are different styles and fits so I wanted to get it correct come the big day. A few of my groomsman were out of state too, FT Brea handled it all swimmingly. I also appreciated the final fitting (and tux delivery) happening 5 days before the wedding (it came early!) which took a little stress from such a busy week.
