Came in for my son's first prom to rent a tux. I called to try to make an appt. They denied that they took appts. Informed to just come in. Well, we can in on a Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of people waiting. We scanned the QR code at the front to check in. Good news is, they text you when it's almost your turn so we got to go check out Nordstrom Rack. 30 min later, it was our turn. Donna helped us get my son what he wanted. I found the service to be excellent. She showed us options, explained what we had questions on. We got a rental tux, bow tie, shoes, dress shirt and a pocket square. With the schools 25% off coupon it came out to $200. Steep but I know that it will be exactly fitted as she measured very extensively. We came in Sunday to his event the following Sat. The tux will be ready on Thursday after 4pm and drop off by end of day Sunday, day after event. Talking to the staff there I learned they don't do appts for prom because of the steep discount, they make more money on the weddings. They make appts for weddings. Makes sense from a business standpoint but... shouldn't the experience be impeccable so these young men know where to get their lifelong suits/tuxs at? read more

Staff: Needed to rent a suit for a wedding. I worked with Evan. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, had great follow up, and was a pleasure to work with. Quality/Quantity: Beautiful store that is a couple doors down from the prior location. Very clean store with a lot of options. I opted for a black suit, vest, shirt, pants, shoes, and a tie. Value: It was about $200 to rent for a single event. In hindsight, I should've just bought a new suit as I can use it in the future, but on short notice, I decided to just rent instead. Overall: Had a great experience with the staff and the suit was perfect. We had a little trouble with the Apple Pay process but in the end it worked out. Timothy & Donna helped with fitment & ordering. They had phone follow up when the items came in to insure any changes to the; shirt, jacket, tie, shoes, & pants, ( socks were the easiest ). We made an upgrade & a few alterations & in 48 hours, I was able to confirm the adjustments. They definitely spent an hour of time over those two fitments to make it perfect. Pretty damn awesome! I needed a tuxedo for the 250th Marine Corps Birthday ball, and it had to be perfect. Tim, the Assistant Manager, could not have been more helpful. He helped me select everything that I needed, advising me on the appropriate accessories that I required. We went through several fittings, and Tim got everything "dialed in' perfectly. I ordered a tux from Friar Tux for a friend's wedding. The store is in a nice area of town and the selection was quite extensive. When I went in for measurements, the staff were friendly and helpful. They measured me up fast and had me try on test clothes to make sure they get the real size. The day of the final fitting was smooth as well. I went in, tried on my tux and made sure it fit. The fitting was dead on. The experience was seamless. The drop off was also a breeze. A button on the jacket had popped off. I brought it in. They had no issues with that. The price was average I'd say. You could get cheaper, but the quality of the suit justified the price. All in all, a really good experience. read more

I booked an appointment for a tuxedo fitting for my wedding. Arrived, was greeted, individual working let the head seamstress( I think that is what he is) know I was there for a fitting. The guy read my name on the screen and proceeded to flip out on the front desk employee saying i wasn't his appointment and that he should just take me. Front desk guy was new, didn't know what he was talking about and proceeded to back track on all points made. His main focus was to get me to bring my party in so he could sell everyone a suit however, didn't focus on me at all.... He put me in a rental that was way too big and said "it's the only one that works with your shoulders unless you buy one" proceeds to tell me about how they could get it tailed to my exact fit but, then tells me they don't do it in house and that I should go with the rental. Very confusing, bad experience, I went elsewhere and it was a lot better. They called me 3 weeks before my wedding asking if I still needed suits... read the room. read more

I used to visit the South Coast location. I never come into a place of establishment dropping any names, looking for special treatment, or feeling entitled. I come in as a regular customer, or as some might call it, a mystery shopper. Over the past months, I've attended six weddings and usually wear my own suits. However, for these weddings I was a part of, I needed to rent a tux. I called in needing a last-minute tux and spoke to Stephan, who was very professional, courteous, and accommodating. He was able to pull up my information and get my measurements. Concerned about my previous measurements, I decided to come in and get updated measurements. When I came in for the updated measurement, Evan quickly attended to me, assisted by Yazmin. The following day, when I came to pick up the tux, Tim helped me out, gave me some recommendations, and even had my tux altered the same day. They had my tux measured and ready within 24 hours, which was impressively fast compared to my previous experiences. I want to thank Evan and his team for making and improving the experience better and better each time I've had to come in for a tux. We had a pretty good experience overall. There was a bit of a wait, but with prom and wedding season, I wouldn't expect anything less. The best part is that this location is LGBTQ friendly. My son felt very comfortable from the original fitting process and pick up try on. Our main point of contact was kind. I do agree with another recent review that there was a worker there that was a little more all over the place. This place is great! Had to get a suit and the staff was helpful, friendly, and fast! They never once made me feel uncomfortable. I originally thought my suit wouldn't arrive for about a week since I had to get custom sizing, but it ended up arriving the next day! The only thing that's a bit of a bummer is that they don't do inhouse tailoring, but luckily I was able to find a place close by that was inexpensive and did quality work. This is a great place to buy a tux or suit. I wish I had some more disposable funds..if so I'd get one in every color they have. read more

Cody, Evan, and Yazmine are all amazing and had great customer service at this location. I had to get a suit rental relatively last minute as my other plans did not work out. I called this location, spoke with Evan, and gave him a time frame for when I needed the suit. He reassured me that as long as I got my measurements done that same day I called, they would have more than enough time to get the rental to me on time. I was surprised as Macys advised they needed 2 weeks for their rental process and that was too late for my timeline. Once I arrived at this location, Cody, was quick to introduce himself and promptly provided great information on all their rental options. He was extremely helpful and had a lot of knowledge/feedback regarding the fitting of the suit pieces. Cody took my measurements and explained the rental process thoroughly. The whole process was seamless and I didn't feel like my time was wasted. The suit came to the store location sooner than initially estimated. I was extremely happy hearing that news as I was anxious about the timeline being an issue but rather than cutting it close, it came earlier than expected. For the final fitting, Yazmine helped me try on the suit and we reviewed for any potential need for minor adjustments. I shared concerns regarding the length of the sleeves but she shared her expert opinion and explained the fitting. She was willing to work with me on adjustments but it was not needed as she was right about the sleeves. It wasn't an issue at all once I tried everything on. Overall, the suit was comfortable, the measurements were spot on, and the suit looked great. Many people complimented my suit and loved the outfit. Huge shout out to the team at Friar Tux and thank you once again for being accommodating, professional, and knowledgeable.
