What I like about Zumiez is that, if I don't wear the clothes, then I have two adult children, that would love to wear whatever I picked out for myself (sometimes forgetting my age, and weight gains associated with it) :) Whenever I enter the store, I'm greeted promptly, maybe because they're taught to acknowledge the mature shopper, perhaps figuring that I have more money to spend, lol, which is not the case. But either way, there's reasonable pricing / great value at the store. My daughter likes to shop here and picks up a couple of cool t-shirts for herself or for gifts whenever we stop in. The guys that work here have always been quite friendly and helpful whether it be to look for another size or help fold shirts back up for their displays. There is also this one very friendly cashier that always enjoys chatting with us about his stories and experience with Hawaii every time we give him our phone number with our 808 area code. The service at the beginning was perfect however after I bought a shirt and left I heard the employees saying I sold a shirt to these stupid effing kids I went to return it when he tried putting it on me by saying how we were messing around in the store and how we need to make up online next time. Honestly, this genuinely changed my view on the store. The Zumiez shop in Mission Viejo Mall is fantastic! The employees go above and beyond to help you find what you need. I take my grandson there on shopping sprees and the employees are so friendly the second you walk we the door. These are young men with "old school values and service." The manager, Rich, is knowledgeable and has a way to connect with the kids who shop there. If I owned a business he is exactly the person I would hire. The store has ALOT of stock in all sizes and is exactly what the kids who skate are looking for. Give it a try; you'll love it!! read more

I've visited this store 3-4 times and every visit the employees have been energetic and eager to assist. Didn't have my daughter's size, the young man assisting me searched other stores, eventually he ordered what I needed online. Solved! On another visit, found what I needed but accidentally left my shopping bags on the bench. I called, manager kept my things safely stored until the next day. Solved! Kudos to the store manager at Mission Viejo because he/she knows how to hire the right people to represent the Zumiez brand. The two workers in there around 8:01pm Monday (12/27) were very rude to my son and I. They were pestering my son and making him feel bad by calling him overweight. They even used profanity while trying to teach him a lesson. It's sad that the kids my son is supposed to feel comfortable around treat him this way. Terrible store. I love zumiez, but going to the actual store is the worst experience ever. I only shop online now. They are so rude and I had to seek help even though there was 3 people standing there doing nothing. I only go here for gift cards. The last time I went I stood there for a few minutes before someone asked me if I needed help. I told them I needed to get a gift card and they all looked at each other and grabbed a guy that was actually doing his job to do my gift card. I've only had one person who wasn't a complete dick and was actually doing his job here. I never get greeted and hear a thanks from this store. I wish I could put zero stars. read more

I was assisted at Zumiez at the Shops in Mission Viejo over the holiday. Their staff (Taylor, Andrew, and Haven) were outstanding! They were positive, attentive, and knowledgeable. I was able to pick out an awesome complete board and wheel upgrades for a toy drive in which I was participating. I could not have asked for a better experience. I (finally) wrote an email to Zumiez to make sure they know the amazing team they have the the Mission Viejo mall. I highly recommend this store if you're looking to pick up a board (fyi for parents with young kids in tow at the mall: some of the images on the apparel in store are mature in content). read more

Went into the store today and we weren't greeted by anyone. We weren't even sure if anyone even worked there until one of the kids started climbing up the ladder and looked at us like we weren't his issue. We asked for help and he said "With what?" in one of the worst tones I've ever heard from an employee, anywhere. Both of the employees acted like they hated their jobs and we felt as though they didn't want to be there at all... And neither did we! I would only recommend shopping here if you like the most raunchy music you've ever heard. Today the song that was blaring over the store speakers for our listening pleasure had the following lyrics, " I f#×&ed your b#×ch!" and other explicit lyrics.
