Since my initial visit a few months back, I felt a sense of professionalism and pride from the staff. I was continuously updated on the status of the suits and checked in on periodically to ensure my satisfaction. The suits themselves were quite affordable and good quality. They were all slim cut and well tailored, even for my larger friends. My only concern is the number of times some of my groomsmen had to return because an item didn't fit right. This was most likely due to inaccurate measurements being taken during their initial visits. Overall, though, the experience was pleasant, and I would recommend Friar Tux. read more

There are 2 African American employees there, one male and one female, who are exceptional!! Sorry if that's not politically correct but they don't have name tags and I didn't get their names. But I want to make sure they got the recognition. Super friendly and they're very knowledgeable I took my son here to rent a tux for the prom. I came here 3 times--to get him fitted, to pick up, and to return. Each time, those 2 were the most helpful. The place was packed 2 out of 3 times. First of all, your system for Prom is terrible. I made an appointment online for formal wear but then when I got there they said "Prom" is not something that takes appointments. They did accommodate us but not without a bit of discussion. Prom should certainly have reservations. I went to pick up our rentals and the shopping center was closed due to some sort of a water issue. There was NOTHING on your door, just a locked door with a darkened room. Allegedly, they reopened later in the day but there was nothing to indicate that was going to happen. Your location in Northridge completely messed up my sons friend's rental - I was there during the measurement process - there was no confusion. Upon trying it on - it was not even close. Upon returning to the store the manager Marlene was not helpful in the least, downright rude even with her tone and lack of assistance in trying to remedy the situation. There was no accountability for your staff's mistakes and this woman could have cared less that she was ruining a young boy's night. Further to that - she tried to say that they were open all day the day we picked up which was clearly an untruth. Your location needs better management, better servicers and a better system. I also received an email telling us we did not return the Tuxedo - it was returned first thing the next day. Terrible all the way around. read more

Right away, Naj congratulated me on my upcoming wedding, and showed me all the options I had available, as well as the options I specifically asked for. When we arrived they were helping some other people but still acknowledged us and got to him as quickly as they could. The staff here are all great. There is a standout star named Sara that was so incredibly helpful with planning our wedding and going above and beyond to help things go as smooth as possible. Sara helped contact my groomsman to ensure they came in on time for a fitting, helped find us the best deal and even noticed that the socks that came could match a little better with another option. I must say this Pandemic has put a damper on everything. So my now wife and I decided we were not going to allow it to put a damper on our wedding. So we decided to have a social distant wedding with about 20ppl. Doug was amazing, as he always is. He was able to help us get tuxedos a couple weeks before the wedding. His staff were professional. They all wore proper protective gear and provided hand sanitizer for us as well. My wedding during this time was a really special event, and Doug was able to really help ensure it was special. Got an invite to the Oscars one late Friday night, giving me one day to find a tuxedo. Called Friar Tux first thing Saturday morning and spoke with Tyrone who assured me that he would take care of me, and to come on in. I was there shortly after they opened, and within a half hour, I was set up with a tux that looked great! One problem, though, the pant legs needed to be hemmed. I was told HE could take care of that the same day, and that they should be ready around 3pm. Late Saturday afternoon I got a call from Tyrone who said it got real busy, so the pants weren't ready. He then asked if I could come back right when they were closing, as by then they should be done. Well, to my surprise, he called me back earlier than expected and said the pants were ready! Wow. Horrible customer service. My brother had a wedding and he chose this location in northridge so the groomsmen could get their suits. The first day i went there for the fitting, the experience was ok. The workers there didn't greet the clients with a smile, they just said "check in and we'll be with you". The store was completely empty so i assumed they were going to help me asap. Nope. They were just behind the desk messing around and saying jokes. i ignored that and they finally called my name after 5 minutes. they got my measurements and they gave me a vest to try on. Everything was perfect and slim fit which is what i wanted. Fast forward about 2 weeks for my final fitting. I go to check out my rental suit and everything was horrible. I asked for everything slim fit and to keep it like how it was during my first visit. They gave me a LARGE vest for my slim body. they gave me a 9 and half size shoes instead of the 9 that i asked for since the first day. The white dressing shirt was TWO sizes bigger than what i wanted. I was annoyed but polite and told them everything looks bad on me. they had to reorder my rental items and i had to come back THREE days later. When i walked back into the store because i had one more question, the worker, i think his name was Jose? (about 5'9, latino with glasses), told me "What? do you want to try on the same clothes again or what." with a VERY nasty attitude and eye contact. i just told him to remove the shirt from the rental because i'll buy my own somewhere else (i had to spend an additional $50 at jcpenny for a shirt). Wasn't looking forward to the hour drive for the 3rd time. I got an email in the morning saying that my rental is ready for pick and to stop by anytime from 11am-7pm. i didn't want to deal with traffic so i drove there around 12pm. Once i arrived there, they were again, not greeting their clients and the same jose guy gave me a bad stare. I checked in, they called my name. I told and showed them the email about my order being ready and they told me "we don't have it." I got upset and showed them the email again, but they said "i don't know who sent you that. The shipment isn't here until 5". I asked for the manager and the lady that walked up didn't even identify herself or state if she's the manager. so i told her and showed her the same email about my order being ready. She argued with me and all of a sudden "The shipment just got here" They gave me my rental items, i tried them on. didn't like the look of the new ordered items but i didn't want to deal with them anymore so i just took the items and left. My brother and father had a bad experience too and they will be writing their own reviews later. I also attached pictures of the quality they gave me the vest in (thread coming out) and the "slim fit shirt" they wanted to give me. DO NOT COME HERE. If you're looking for an affordable but nice place to rent a tux/suit for a wedding come here not Mens Wearhouse! This place is way more affordable and but has 100 times better customer service! Came in just to get some information as our wedding was just over two weeks away and we still didn't have what the guys were wearing settled. Lucca, who I believe is the new manager, was amazing!!! He got us taken care of and explained in detail all our options and took his time measuring my fiancé. He was great will for sure come back if we ever need something like this in the future. Family members went in for an appointment picked their tux and got measured, 3 weeks later (yesterday) they were finished, only 1 or 3 tux fit my family members. 1 tux needed to be hemmed from the pants, my nephew and the other tux needed the sleeves of the jack to be hemmed. they said it would be done the next day. My finance went to go pick it up from them today (next day) just got home... the pants to the jacket that needed to be hemmed is missing, the jacket is not even hemmed. and the pants that needed to be hemmed is not hemmed.... so they went there for nothing! nothing was done to it!!! we need the items for tomorrow and its 656pm they close at 8pm... this is unbelievable. I will never go here, i still need to speak to cooperate of this company because its being ran poorly! read more
