I came in here a few weeks ago, as I'm about to get married and needed a suit. Now, I was a little nervous because I've somehow managed to go my entire adult life without having ever worn a suit so I definitely felt in over my head. Aryana, sorry if I misspelled it, greeted me at the door and got right into what it was I was looking for. I did open with the fact that I had no clue what I was doing and would need some help. I must've asked so many silly questions but she was so patient and friendly through out the whole shopping experience. She also made sure to write down her alteration suggestions for the tailor she recommended. I originally was searching for a men's warehouse when I went to look for somewhere to go. Yelp brought up this friar tux before showing me men's warehouse locations and after checking the reviews I decided to come here and I'm very thankful I did. Top notch service here for sure! I needed a tux for a black tie event with like a 7 day notice. I started looking on the black tux but was going to have to "rush deliver" my rental and get charged an extra $50 for that. I've had horrible experiences at mens warehouse (both at the one in SD and orange county) so decided to try friar tux. I walked in and was greeted by Guy immediately. He was super helpful and treated me like a human being (don't get that at mens warehouse lol). Got measured and out of there in less than 15 minutes and it only ran me like $200 which I was quite pleased with. They emailed me 3 days later and the tux was ready. Fit perfectly and the ladies were complimenting me all night. 10/10 experience and will definitely be coming back here for all my tux rentals. Friar Tux has an amazing Suit selection at an amazing price. The staff when not busy will attend to your needs and match you up with the proper fitting. However the only disappointment with Friar Tux is that they do not the hemming properly. I purchased a suit with them and have only used it twice. The stitching on both of my sleeves came undone ; upon further inspection I realized that they do not hem the suit properly they only anchor the stitching from two sides instead of all around the sleeve. See photos. I'm very dissatisfied with the quality of the tailoring, and having to possibly use a third party to make my suit be up to the normal standard. read more

Not only did Phillip ensure that I got all 7 suits ordered and paid for, he took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I fully understood the next step in the process. I appreciate how patient Phillip was with me and made sure that everyone's order was taken care of and would arrive in time (the suits are being shipped to three different states). I would strongly recommend purchasing your tuxedo from a physical store rather than an online retailer like Friar. Tuxedo sizing can be tricky, and if the fit isn't right, the exchange process can be both time-consuming and expensive. In my experience, returns required multiple shipments, and by the second exchange I was charged $10 for shipping each way. Being able to try on and adjust sizing in person can save you money, time, and unnecessary stress. read more

I came to browse some suits for myself and my groomsman while my fiance was next door at Luv's bridal. They had a good selection of both rental suits and suits for purchase. We had an appointment so didn't need to wait, but the check in process was easy. Phillip was extremely helpful as we were browsing and trying on suits, offering suggestions for both my suit and my groomsman. Every time I thought I had a question he somehow found a way to answer before I even asked. Would 10/10 recommend styling with Phillip if possible. The only thing is that I wish there were more flexibility to allow people to purchase suits that are on the rental rack so different members of the party had the option to buy if they'd like. Other than that, Phillip shared a great deal with us and applied a discount for us because of my fiances purchase at Luv's. read more

My husband and I first had an appointment at Men's Warehouse and after an extremely disappointing visit, we left and took a chance on nearby Friar Tux. It was very unassuming from the outside but inside it was EXACTLY what we were looking for! Good service, human interaction, great selection, easy process, and FUN. We had a number of guests needing suits from out of town and Friar Tux helped them all. Such fast turnaround and amazing customer service. Yajna was a huge help for my initial visit and then throughout the process, including helping coordinate with my groomsmen and other members of the wedding party. I also really appreciate Marissa, who was there the last two times I got fitted, who helped me a lot with helping choose the style and fit. I also really appreciate Friar Tux's selection, as I went with a less traditional burgundy tux, but they were still able to give me lots of options that fit well and made me feel great (I'm a big guy too, 6'5, 275 lbs). She treated me so well, the kind of service you don't expect, but are abruptly surprised because you immediately are treated to feel important and special.
