I brought my son here for his birthday because he loves RC Cars. They have several different tracks indoors and 1 outside. You can bring your own (has to be RC not remote controlled cars from Target/Walmart etc) or you can rent different vehicles from them $15/hr. We rented and also got 2hrs of track time. We had a blast and we're going back soon to buy a RC truck. The shop is awesome too! I talked to Steve and he was super helpful and I could tell he loves this stuff. He helped us pick out the best one for our needs. They have other hobby projects also for all ages young and old. They have 3D printers also. Lots of parking and clean restrooms available. My son and I went here looking to get more info on more "serious" RC cars than you get on Amazon. It's a little daunting because of the sheer volume of what you don't know about this hobby just starting out. Mostly all we knew was we were tired of spending money on junk to only have it breakdown in a week or so. First thing you notice when you pull up to the store is the racetrack painted in the parking lot complete with several ramps. Guess what? It's free to use! 24/7! We went inside and we met with Floyd ceiling RC cars, parts accessories everywhere! It was exciting to see just how far this rabbit hole could go! In another section of the store stem-centric toys (like science kits and build your own RC Lego cars) and another section is dedicated to 3-D printing. Still further in are three indoor tracks that you pay for time on. One is a super fast carpeted racetrack, and then there are two rock crawling tracks one for minis and one for regular cars. Dotted throughout the store are numerous arcade games that are free to play. All of that sounds awesome enough, but the friendly staff are amazingly knowledgeable and endlessly helpful. They don't make you feel like idiots for not knowing everything they do. They really are friendly and I've already spent a small fortune there! read more

Went into a hobby store that has a large selection of 3-D printing and they didn't have a single box of ABS. They gave me some story about they're expecting a big shipment in, but it wasn't there so I don't recommend this business to do anything with 3D printing. They also have numerous boxes of their own brand of PLA filament that I wouldn't trust if you gave it to me for free. I think it'd be nice if you inform people who actually makes your filament because I know you don't. With friendly in your name I would've thought you would've been more friendly to your customer. I tried several times to make small talk with the people behind the counter and they had nothing to do with me. The person behind the counter told me that the business was sold to a new owner. I suspect it'll go out of business very soon. If the owner reads this, you need to train your staff a little bit more and how to deal with customers in a friendly way since it is in your name. read more

Living in Vegas, we do not have many hobby stores in town. Unfortunately, I've been a longtime customer, and I will not be going back. They are friendly until you have an issue. They get everything pretty much from Horizon Hobby, and amain I just figured I would support a local Business. I recently purchased a losi micro rc car and bought Aftermarket Springs made by next racing. The person that sold it to me failed to tell me that the screws that you will need to use need a tool smaller than 0.5 hex. So what do I do? I stopped by the shop again to see if they had the tool that I would need. When I spoke with Timothy, he mentioned he did not have it in stock and would have to get it from his other shop in Henderson, and he would have it the following day. I stopped by the shop the next day to see if they had it and go figure. He said the other store forgot to send it. But that's not all. When they finally realized the tool I needed, which was smaller than 0.5, They told me that there was no tool that they could find that would fit the screw and that they were going to contact their Next racing sales rep to find out. If they had told me that I would need a tool they don't carry or at least told me where I could get it, or even if it existed, it would have changed my mind about purchasing the spring, but what also is frustrating is the service. they were not helpful, they offered no solution. At the end of the day, if you need a particular part and come here, know what you want and need because they are not helpful. You're better off getting it from Amain.com or Horizon Hobby and if you need advise about anything just AI or online forums! take your hard-earned money elsewhere! read more

So friendly, I won't be back. The main store is nice - the owners are very nice but, they are salesy. They didn't have my best interests. When I asked questions, I received fairly generic answers. They should've steered me in the right direction for a beginner but, they didn't. I ended up with a money pit, instead of a good beginner crawler. I also asked for a part that is normally very cheap but, they didn't have it. So instead of telling me that - I was offered a part that was literally 4 times the cost. I'm sure it was a good one but, come on guys...The other location - the Freddy Krueger-ish (without the burns) that works there was not very friendly. I would strongly caution parents before renting equipment here, especially if your child is young or has special needs. I paid $94 to rent two RC crawlers for my children. My son is 7 years old and has special needs. During the session, an older male staff member repeatedly intervened with my son in a confrontational manner over how he was holding the controller. While instruction can be appropriate, the tone and approach used with a child were unnecessary and intimidating--particularly given that full replacement liability had already been charged as part of the rental. After I intervened, I clearly and repeatedly asked the staff member to disengage and leave my children alone. Despite this, he continued approaching us under the guise of being "helpful." At that point, any further interaction was neither requested nor welcome. Respecting a parent's direct request to disengage should be standard practice once discomfort has been expressed. As a general standard, staff should not directly confront or correct a child when a parent is present. Concerns or guidance should be addressed to the parent and allow the parent to handle their child appropriately. This is especially important when working with young children or children with special needs, where tone, boundaries, and parental authority matter. What is most concerning is the owner's response afterward. Rather than acknowledging that a different approach could have been used, the situation was reframed to minimize the interaction and shift blame. The owner cited security footage stating that my children "appeared happy," which does not negate the fact that the experience was negatively affected in real time. A child can continue participating while still being unsettled by an adult's behavior. The owner also publicly characterized complimentary items as being provided "mostly to appease" me, which in itself suggests recognition that something had gone wrong. Additionally, the owner made serious allegations about my conduct that are inaccurate and inappropriate to speculate on in a public forum rather than addressing concerns professionally. This experience raised serious concerns about staff training, boundaries with children, and how parental concerns--particularly involving special-needs children--are handled. Rather than accountability, the response was defensive and dismissive. I have also shared a more detailed account on Google for those who wish to read it. We buy a $400 rc car and the second day was broke and they don't give us any solution

So I've been to this particular location four times. And three out of the four were absolutely fantastic Aiden, Mason, Conor and Shane have made my overall experience amazing. The one poor experience I had may have been a fault of my own, which is why I gave them another shot and they just knocked it out of the park. I bought an RC truck and proceeded to break it within 10 minutes, which was completely my fault. When I returned to the store requesting replacement parts, Aiden was able to provide the pieces I needed as well as the confidence that I could replace it myself. And he was right I was able to get my truck back up and running in no time. And then when I returned to upgrade my truck, Aiden remembered me and was concerned that maybe I had broken it again. I hadn't, but I wanted to do some upgrades and Conor was quick to help me find all of the parts that I needed. Everyone here is friendly and helpful, which makes me happy to support a local business. Lastly, the information I got from Conor and Mason is invaluable for my next car journey. They let me know their experience and what they would've done differently if they had the opportunity to start again. I'm excited to continue to frequent this location and all friendly hobby stores. read more

I purchased an RC plane here approx two months ago. The charger that came with the plane melted and shortly thereafter the plane stopped working due to an electrical issue that was no fault of mine. When I brought it in they said I was beyond the 30 Day return mark and they were essentially unable to help me. They told me I could remove a part and send it into the company, but were unable to remove the part without charging me $60 per hour. They don't back their products and were only helpful when attempting to sell me something. I would buy directly online from another supplier if you want something. Cheaper and you can send it back to the company if something goes wrong. Not only do they slightly upcharge their products they don't offer support when something goes wrong. If I could give this place a zero star rating I definitely would. When I arrived at Friendly Hobbies, they welcomed me in the store and the sells men appeared to be kind and professional (totally wrong). I ended up spending about $1,000.00 on a RC. It seemed like if we bought more items, the business would give us a greater discount, however, that was not the case. The sells man stated "I just got authorization to give you this much of a discount"... a mediocre discount for that matter. I noticed that this was not a deal/discount, but in hopes of joining the RC community I was willing to take the employee's word for the so called "discount". I was joyful and excited to try out my new toy, but soon realized that I was given a defected RC. I contacted Friendly Hobbies, but they weren't willing to help me out. This is an expensive hobby, so please be ware of places like Friendly Hobbies that instantly take your money without hesitation, yet hesitate to assist with finding a solution with their customers to compensate for their poor quality products. Everyone was very helpful but when I bought the arrma 4x4 senton it was fun but I was worried because the battery lasted like 5-10 minutes and then I called friendly hobbies but thanks to Joshua who helped me over the phone very well he explained what to do and I just charged it for 2 times like he said and it worked so well the battery takes 6 hours to charge and lasted 30 minutes.thanks to Joshua I didn't have to take a 20 minute drive to the shop.and now the car is working very good. read more

1st off, nice r/c store up until you pay with cc then comes the cc fee which is a deal breaker for me. I will now only shop here if I really need something otherwise I'll shop elsewhere. 2nd, I asked about a certain item I had seen on their website and the guy just looks at me and says "I don't know" so I said ok I'll look into it. Come across a second guy and asked the same thing and he has an even shittier attitude like he doesn't care, as if you don't have any money so I'm like ok whatever. 3rd, when I first walked in they seem like nice folks until you notice an employee watching and following you around the store. I thought he was being helpful but instead made me feel uncomfortable. Come here if you want to be scammed !!! I paid $859.50 + credit card fee for the traxxs Raptor R. I wanted to start a new hobby with my family, but after we took the RC home, the RC overheated after a 5 minute use. An activity that was supposed to be fun and friendly with the family turned into an overwhelming expense. I ended up calling the phone number listed on their business card since the employees seemed to be open to help us, however, they simply wanted us to spend more money on other parts for the RC in order for it to stop overheating. They recommended we use our $859.50 RC at night ONLY to avoid overheating. To me, this is very unfair, unusual, and unsatisfactory. When we purchased the RC it appeared like we would be usual customers, but now seeing such a greedy business is unacceptable and have lost our trust. DO NOT SHOP HERE! You will lose money that can be spent on a business that is willing to work out a solution with their customers. Find a friendlier hobby elsewhere. Please read all the way through. Horrible service!!! I hate making bad reviews especially since my father owns a business himself but with how I've been treated, I have to make this review. March 13th, 2023 I brought my Traxxas TRX4 1979 Chevrolet Blazer in to install my LED light kit and get tires for my new beadlock wheels. Customer service was great and the guy was very respectful. We were told that it would be done by the end of the week and that we'd receive a phone call 24-48 hours later to confirm the final cost. March 16th, 2023 I had called the location to get an update on the TRX4 and was told that it wouldn't be touched for 10-14 days. Because the first gentleman said by the end of the week, I was pissed. I spoke to the manager who was very respectful and said that the first gentleman was incorrect and offered to have it done by Friday or Saturday due to the inconvenience. March 18th, 2023 I called again to get an update explaining to the person on the phone that the manager offered to have it finished by today. The person on the phone said that the mechanic was out sick and it wouldn't be done until tomorrow. At this point, I am pissed and I will never return to this location. I drove 32 miles round trip because this is the only location in Las Vegas that works on RC cars. I plan to call back in the morning to find out if it will be done or if I should just pick it up. The manager can reach out to me about this if needed. Other than that, I will NOT be revisiting this location. Update: March 19th, 2023 This morning, I went to pick it up. As I walked in, I was told that it had been done for a COUPLE days. So, the entire time I was on the phone with them yesterday, it was done?! That shows that the communication is further lacking with their customers. Update 2: April 6th, 2023 I had talked to the south location of Friendly Hobbies and let them know what happened. Very frustrated and disappointed. My husband was guided here through a phone call with a worker being told he would get help with his new drone. He drove far away to get that help only to be told "sorry that's too much work." After being told by my husband that he would PAY for the required hours needed, they shrugged it off and just said sorry we don't do that. Next time someone makes a call and gives you details of the drone and you agree to help, follow through or be clear on the phone call before making customers take time out of their day to drive far to support and use your business.
