All vents and the surrounding ceiling tiles look like this
    Wendy G.

Loved Friendlys growing up & enjoy coming back for the nostalgia. Great menu. Something for everyone. Team is nice and quick. My only complaint is how dirty the air vents and ceiling around them are. Not many look up but if they do they'll see all vents like this. This was a turn off for me when I noticed them. Other than that, I'd come back

1-19-26. The infamous "fishamajig" sammie. Sometimes..... it's just what you need! Tastes like a McD's filet-o-fish....but better.

1-19-26. Somewhat decent food. I ordered the infamous "fishamajig" melt sandwich. Which I believe is a fried codfish patty served on toasted bread with some cheese and tartar sauce. I'm certainly not saying it was life changing.....but every so often, it just soothes the soul. Also ordered a bowl of chicken soup which tasted like it came straight out of a can of Campbells .... but hey, I like Campbells soup. The ice cream (in my opinion) is obviously the star of the show here......and you really can't go wrong with any of it. OK food, fair prices and pretty decent service. It's not going to win any awards but every now and then it just hits the spot.

Probably the worse service I've experienced at Friendly's, and I've been going for over 15 years. My family and I came here after a very long sad day of grieving the loss of my grandma. My Dad was excited about coming here because they don't have Friendly's in GA, so he makes it a point to stop here before going home. As we walked in we weren't greeted initially (there was a person cleaning the table in the front, they didn't even acknowledge us), until one person walked by and said welcome. We were seated and it just felt like the server wasn't warm, or inviting. It felt like we weren't important and they didn't seem like they wanted to engage with us at all. The place also had a weird odor which I noticed when I walked in. They were wiping down tables which is good. So it was fairly clean, but didn't smell good. We just came for dessert, which was actually good. Overall, disappointing experience. Hoping others will have a better experience, but this will be my last time at this location.

I am trying to figure out a way to explain what the Friendly's experience is for those who have never been. The best I can come up with is imagine if a diner and Denny's had a love child. Friendly's has been around for years. I used to love going to it as a kid. I arrived at this one at about 5:00 on a Saturday. It was pretty crowded. The parking lot was full. As I look around, I see a lot of middle school, high school and families with children there. So it seems like the tradition of an attracting younger taste buds still holds true. A big part of that is they are known for their ice cream, although I used to love their burgers. With that in mind, I ordered the fish and chips. I know, who orders fish and chips at a Friendly's? ME! . The other order at the table was a kid's meal. I think it was a great value. For $7.99 a grilled cheese sandwich, french fries, a drink and an ice cream hot fudge sundae was all covered for that price. Keep in mind those items are interchangeable because the child can pick from a menu of what they want. For example instead of french fries, broccoli could have been chosen. Are instead of grilled cheese, a quesadilla could be ordered. It is also kind of cool that the child menu comes in "sizes". They have one for smaller children and one for bigger ones. That's pretty cool The fish and chips were not the highlight of my visit. The fish came out very hot which is great. However, the texture is a little hard to explain. I was expecting a light and flaky bite. The fish was more "chewy" and it was salty. I put generous amounts of the provided tartar sauce on it. I also ask for extra lemon. I did eat it all, mainly because it was $17. But I will probably not ever order it again. Speaking of the price. I expected a higher grade of fish for that price. Additionally I recall the french fries being better when I was younger. These french fries are the thinner variety almost shoestring like. Unfortunately they get cold rather fast because of the small mass. The kid's plate seemed fine. That makes me happy because this is the kind of place that belongs in your childhood memory. Eating with your parent and just having a good time. The meal came with an activity book and a spoon that changes colors based on the temperature of the food you put it into. Not sure if I'm putting that into my child's mouth, but we may use it for science fun. Keeping in mind that this establishment isn't known for the meals more than it is for the ice cream, let's talk dessert. The kid's meal allows a choice of three different ice cream creations. The classic hot fudge was chosen. And I was told it was very good. I ordered the large sundae. Came with three scoops and three toppings. I had a hard time choosing. I ended up with a mocha ice cream, cookies and cream and chocolate chip. I topped it with hot fudge, cookie dough and marshmallow. At almost $10, it definitely filled me up. It was very sweet and satisfying. I definitely enjoyed the dessert and would come back for that. I definitely still see this as a place for the high school and college crowd. I also think it's a great option for parents who want a simple establishment to take there children to. The charm of Friendly's is its still very old school. No fuss. It's not fancy and you can get a good value on a child's meal. And I don't know any child who's going to complain after eating ice cream! Slight Update: I returned to Friendly's with my son. I ordered the tuna fish melt. I know, again with the fish from friendly's . I don't eat red meat give me a break. Anyhow, that sandwich is the bomb. I bet it's a sleeper on the menu. I enjoyed the tuna fish and fries. If you want to kick it up a notch, get a side of coleslaw with it!

I haven't visited friendly's in over 15 years, and It felt great to be back. I was in the area, and couldn't believe I stumbled across friendly's so close to Brooklyn. Nothing has changed (in a great way). Upon arrival I still got that old school diner feel. There is plenty of seating and fast service. They also have lots of weekly meal deals , in which I'll be coming back to try . I ordered the m&m and Butterfinger friend z for my husband and I . They were soooo good, and still tasted the same as from my childhood. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this friendly's and will be visiting more often .

Took my daughter to Friendly's as a little treat after her first day of kindergarten. The service was good and the lady helping us was very nice. I'm not really an ice cream person myself, and the ambiance isn't my favorite, so I probably wouldn't come here on my own. But my daughter loves their ice cream -- it's usually very good -- and she was happy and enjoyed herself. That's all that really matters, and for that reason, it was a nice visit.

    Ready for our ice cream.

Is there anyone out there who is not familier with Friendly's? Year's ago they littered the neighborhoods and today there is just a few of them. The good thing is that they still serve 'awesome' in a ice cream glass. We were six people coming off off of a great sushi dinner. When we finished a friend suggested Friendly's. The perfect combo. We went to one of the few remaining shops in the area and were greeted with a great smile and escorted right to our table. The waitress greeted us in seconds brought water and took our order. I will only speak for myself here. It was a double scoop of chocolate walnut ice cream with swiss chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It's been years since I ordered this at a Friendly's Here is the complete summation of the sundae: AWESOME-AWESOME. Make sure you visit Friendly's when your in East Meadow. Pay no attention to those crazy one star reviews.... Someone had a bad day. KUDO's to the team at Friendly's.

Stopped in for a late lunch with Mom. Friendly service from Sam. We enjoyed our Vanilla Fribble with a triple combo appetizer (mini mozzarella sticks, chicken quesadilla and chicken tenders) while we waited for our main course. I enjoyed my favorite, the Fishamajig platter. My wife liked her double Cheeseburger with bacon platter. Mom thought her hot lobster roll was lacking in flavor. We all split a Caramel Fudge Brownie Sundae dessert. Overall, it was a nice experience thanks to quality service and food. We will be back.

This place was fantastic!!! I only have one word for this establishment... Mustard! It was flat out delicious. From the first infliction of the condiment upon my taste buds. Some may say I have found a new love. For any newcomers just know the munchies are the BEST and so is Justin. #Waiter of the Year!!!

We've always loved his cooking and have since followed him to Monroe's while still frequenting Tesoro's. We started our dinner with an Appetizer of Rice Balls followed by an entree of Salmon in Orange sauce for my partner, and Shrimp & Clam Fra Diavolo over Linguine for myself. As we started to order our choices they also informed us they had initiated a new Price Fixe menu in case we decided to change. We stuck with our original choices but decided after perusing the Price Fixe menu we have to come back very shortly as it offers a great value. What's different about Monroe's is that it's offered 7 days a week except holidays, versus other restaurants that tend to limit the days or hours you can order off a Price fixe menu. It s a good deal at $39.95 for 4-Courses starting with a variety of Appetizers, followed by a choice of two salads, multiple Entrée choices including Pastas, various Chicken dishes, Skirt Steak, Port Chop or Pork Medallions, and Seafood including Red Snapper, Salmon, or Sole. Finishing up with a choice of several desserts to choose from. A complimentary glass of Wine or Beer to also accompany your meal. IMO can't beat the value for 4 courses @ $39.95 and available 7 days a week except for Holidays.

Tonight,…read morewe both had a craving for a good burger, and wanted to enjoy this beautiful evening, in a nice outdoor setting. With that I said let's try the Union. The Union, is located in Eisenhower Park. The path leading up to the restaurant, is surrounded by mounds of stunning flowers. The restaurant itself has a very nice open look, with a very long 10 seat bar. The rear of the restaurant has a beautiful and spacious patio overlooking the golf course. Sitting on the patio gives a feel that you're dining at a very exclusive country club. The menu is primarily geared for sushi & steak, but has a number of salads, as well as pizza. We began our meal by sharing a Greek salad. My only objection with the salad, was that the feta cheese had a bland taste, unlike the salty creamy taste that typically exudes from feta cheese. The other issue with the salad, was that it was served with a miniature serving tong. The tong, aside from being tiny, did not easily close to pick up portion's of the salad. We asked the waiter if he can provide us with a serving spoon & fork. After 10 minutes the waiter returned with a regular sized fork & spoon, and to our dismay, said the restaurant didn't have any other serving utensils. Next, we moved on to our main reason for our being there, which was to enjoy the 10 ounce cheeseburger & fries. Unfortunately, when we began eating, our burgers, it was pretty apparent that the sesame buns the burgers were served in weren't fresh, and shouldn't have been served to customers. I did note that quite a few patrons ordered burgers, and I noticed that most patrons took the burger out from the buns. I will never understand why a restaurant would serve patrons any item that's past its useful life. Finally, the restaurant redeemed itself with dessert. The waiter suggested that we try the warm apple covered beignets, which I say was a big YUM!. All in all I have to say I was disappointed with my first visit to the Union, but the ambiance, and the overall delight of the outdoor setting will draw me back again sometime this summer.

As for the venue, it was nice although not upscale and that was just our speed for this evening. We loved having the room to sit comfortably at a setup that could comfortably seat 8. As for the food, it was decent although I wouldn't call anything I tasted fantastic. For apps, we shared 2 orders apiece of calamari, crab cakes, and lamb chops (6 apps total) with the chops being my favorite out of those. The calamari were small and didn't pack a lot of flavor but they were fried well. The marinara sauce that came with it was also fine but not remarkable. The crab cakes were a little mushy for our liking. For my entrée, I ordered the Lobster Rigatoni. There was plenty of lobster on top, the portion was more than solid, and it came out at the right temperature but the flavor again failed to really impress and was somewhere between "fine" to "good". For dessert, I ordered the chocolate lava cake, and I was truly disappointed by that. For starters, there was no gooey "lava" as the name implied, and the edges were dry and seemed overcooked. The flavor again fell a little flat and I didn't bother to finish it even though I am usually a huge fan of chocolate desserts. All in all, we had an enjoyable evening as a crew, but the food could be elevated a bit from a flavor standpoint. I would give the food a little better than a "3" but I think they have enough going for them that amping up the flavors could do wonders for their desirability and drawing more diners.
