I stopped at Friendly's for lunch before checking out Myrtle Beach. It was clean (including the restroom) and not very busy. The waitress brought water and took my order - a turkey club with no tomato. After it came, I noticed there was no lettuce and the cheese was melted (it was a hot sandwich). The waitress was at the counter so I took my plate up to speak with her. She asked if there was a problem, and I said, "I think a turkey club is supposed to have lettuce, but there's none on here" (I know it does because I get it all the time at places, but I was trying to be kind). She said, "Oh, you wanted the Center Court?" That's their menu name for it. I said, "Yes - a turkey club with no tomato." She said, "Oh, well you ordered a turkey melt, so..." I said, "No, a turkey club." She widened her eyes and snapped, "Okay, well I'll bring it!" I used to work in food service, so I'm usually very patient and tip well when things are good, but one thing a server should never do is put words in the customer's mouth when they ask you to correct your mistake. I've never ordered a melt in my life. I like to pick the club sandwiches apart as I eat, and I even tapped the photo on the menu with my finger while ordering, so I know what I said... She had simply put in the wrong sandwich and didn't want to admit it, so there was no apology or accountability. The correct order came a few minutes later by a different waitress who helped me until l left. The first waitress had another table near mine and never came back to say anything to me, but I could hear her around the corner talking loudly about "what a day, what a day it is." The correct sandwich was fine and as expected, but the attitude and conduct of the first server was unprofessional and the experience was unpleasant overall. When I first arrived I had considered getting ice cream as well, but after the ordeal it was difficult to enjoy being there and I just wanted to leave, so I didn't try anything else on the menu. We had errands to do in Myrtle Beach so we decided to grab a bite at Friendly's on kings highway and we were glad we did. The restaurant was clean and bright and the staff made you feel like family. Food was absolutely amazing, and the waitress was great! If you sign up for rewards, the manager will not let you use more than one free medium sundae coupon at a table. We ended up having to pay with one bill instead of 3 like we were going to at our table. read more

This was our first stop and it was pretty good. We needed something fast but different than normal chain fast foods and this was perfect. Didn't try the ice cream but it looked amazing. I got the Mac n cheese burger and it was delicious. My only issue was "crispy" cheddar cheese that was added to the top of the Mac was not crispy and added a weird texture. Otherwise I liked it. We also the chicken, bacon, ranch quesadilla. Very delicious! No issues with that all. Would visit again for sure. read more

We were 2 seperate tables and we didnt wanna pay big tip for waitress that didnt wanna help. Manager came over. Yelled at us. Called one of us mentally unstable. We had a really good first experience at Friendly's! I ordered the clam strips and upgraded the slaw to the Mac n cheese, and my husband had the pastrami/reuben melt. Everything was great, but the Mac n cheese seemed a little bit too plain for my taste. Now the desserts, they were FANTASTIC! We were staying at the La Quinta next to this Friendly's and got back late from the beach so we decided to order and bring the food back to the room. They have an outdoor patio which is great for us because we always have our dog with us so had we wanted to stay there and eat we could have. We were exhausted though, so we headed to our hotel to eat. The food was exceedingly average and prices were acceptable. We were starving so it served it's purpose but nothing was very good. The prices and service were also just ok so 3 stars is an appropriate rating for this location. read more

Wow who knew these little Mecca's of food and ice cream still existed until me and the Mrs. Had to have lunch here they appeared to be a little busy but we patiently waited to be seated and our drink order taken with a smile and positive attitude! The wife ordered the Cod, shrimp and clams and I ordered the steak and cheese sandwich oh the memories of stopping by this place after my football games many many years ago! The Shrimp were under cooked the clams the first time were over fried! My sandwich was done as I remembered but overall just average of that my dream and memories have been crushed. It was the simplicity of the menu and consistency of the food which was imbedded in my mind until today. For those who lived in White Plains, Greenburgh and went to Woodlands HS and remember the friendly's on Central Avenue in Hartsdale NY. How could we not have a throw back lunch on a time away Tuesday! All in all this was a sad day in my history of the friendly's Franchise. read more

After a long day I really wanted to relax in my hotel and use Grubhub to order some dinner! When I saw Friendly's I was so excited for something I knew, but really haven't had in a while. I ordered the Mac and cheese burger and a M&M Friend-Z. The food was pretty good. The burger was good, a little over cooked for my liking, but I expected that. That's more of a personal preference, but something to be aware of if you're picky about how your burger is cooked. I got a decent serving of French fries which is really my favorite part anyway. However, the Friend-Z was much smaller than I expected and smaller that I feel like I've gotten from other locations and when I've gone in person. It was still tasty, but I wish I would've gotten a bit more for the price I paid. read more

Great time great staff and great memories made and started with my granddaughter. I took a leap and visited this location despite the recent reviews. Our local Friendly's closed 10 or more years ago and we still miss it. If you're anything like me, you didn't visit it for the excellent entrées, you visited Friendly's because you wanted that dessert! Atmosphere was clean and orderly. Staff was courteous and attentive, Bryanna our waitress was fantastic. Went here as a kid in New Jersey all the time then as I got older I didn't go for years. Now that I have kids, we actually went there for the first time about a month ago and I was honestly blown away with how good the food and desserts were. I got it the next 3 days in a row. My kids ate every bite and were practically licking the plate clean (not actually) which is super rare considering they are super picky. The service is great too! Everyone is super nice even when my kids were running laps around the whole place like lunatics at 10 pm! It is in a great location as well. Only 10 mins from Carolina forest which is nice! Definitely my new favorite place to go out to eat with my kids. 10/10 !!!! read more
