I came here with two friends to kickoff summer the right way. Obvi that means going to Friendly's. Time and time again, the inside has gotten busy with multiple tables full of people. We love to see it. There were many many times, even a year or two ago, when it was literally just us inside. Now there's multiple tables full! We heard they started doing ice cream flights so we had to see what that was all about. Our friend got the cookie dough ice cream, black raspberry, and the cotton candy flavor. Tip: don't decide to start telling a story when the flights arrive. She was so busy yapping that by the time she got to the cookie dough (her third cone) it was pretty melted and messy. This was one of the most disgusting restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. Walking in, the place felt tired, run down, and forgotten. The greasy, sticky menus should have been the first warning sign that cleanliness isn't a priority here. I ordered the Patty Melt and found multiple gray hairs in my food. That is completely unacceptable and absolutely ruined the meal. There is no excuse for something like that making it out of the kitchen. It immediately made me question what else is happening behind the scenes. The restaurant itself feels like it's been neglected for years. The dining room looks worn out, the atmosphere is depressing, and even the servers looked like they didn't want to be there. Nobody smiled, nobody seemed engaged, and the whole place had an overwhelming feeling that everyone had simply given up. It's honestly sad to see what has happened to Friendly's. It used to be a place families looked forward to visiting. Now it feels like a shell of what it once was. The food quality, cleanliness, and overall experience have fallen so far that I cannot recommend anyone spend their money here. Management needs to completely overhaul this location because in its current condition it is embarrassing. If this is the standard being accepted, then perhaps it's time to close the doors. I've been coming to Friendly's for years, but never for the food, always for dessert with my husband. But this recent visit? One for the books... and not in a good way. First of all, my ice cream was served on a plate. Yes, a plate, not a bowl, not a sundae glass, not even the classic Friendly's metal dish. I genuinely thought I was being pranked. But no, that's how it came out. Anyone who knows ice cream knows it melts faster on a flat plate, so that was strike one. Beyond the strange presentation, the dessert itself just tasted... off. The cake layer tasted like stale air and maybe even a hint of cigarette smoke. It was bizarre and completely unlike the usual quality I've come to expect from this location. That said, I do want to shout out the service, our server, he was wonderful, and the woman who brought my dessert was kind and cheerful. I've been back here a few times since my last review and the speed of service has improved immensely. Friendly's is still the king of comfort food and novelty sundaes/beverages. I was so jealous when I saw some kids getting the shark themed sodas, part of their June menu. I went down memory lane and got the banana split here a few weeks ago. My husband has been enjoying the quesadillas. I tend to like the tuna melt, though I had a burger here recently. I have to say, my hometown misses it's two Friendly's dearly. GREAT SERVICE! GREAT FOOD! I highly recommend getting the famous Royal razz to start off as a beverage. It's a classic. This is a little late sorry about that. It's been very good month. We went there for Veterans Day. We had a wonderful time, even though we walked in. It was busy. It was only just a manager some couple people working in the kitchen, the manager and one server on the floor and they were doing a fantastic job let me tell you nothing was off at all except the shortness they had. I didn't expect it to be busy cause usually friendly is kind of quiet But they forgot that Veterans Day and so they had other people coming while we were waiting and we ordered I ordered the fishamajig , which is my favorite and my husband got the cheeseburger cause he's a veteran. Everything was excellent. The food came out hot fresh. My only complaint was that the fish piece in the sandwich was very thin but other than that. Everything was outstanding. Everybody was friendly and kind people came over to our table and thanked him for his service. One young lady, whose husband was a marine who was away overseas. She ends up buying my lunch and our beverages cause we got a special peppermint, milkshake to share and Can't there's no other complaints. My kids love going to this Friendlys as a special treat! I grew up in Massachusetts in the 90s, when it seemed like there was a Friendlys everywhere. Anyone remember the Museum of Science Friendlys? Well 6 days later still waiting called back today manager Tim as she said didn't come to phone she spoke to me not nicely but it wasn't her problem as she was a server not the manager. My 89 year old stepfather and I wanted a go to destination after his dinner at assisted living. I was testing out taking him in his wheelchair in my Volkswagen sedan. He has a doctor's appointment this week, a follow up from his accident. I was greeted by TJ who was the only waitress at the restaurant that night. She held the door open while I wheeled my stepdad inside, took our order, seated us. We were just there for coffee and ice cream. But the service was outstanding.
