Great group lunch! So I suggested this place to my coworkers and we got a group of 9 to go. My wife has been to the AA location a couple of times and always raves about the chorizo burger. They opened one in Detroit, this was my chance! It was sunny day in late October, we hungry folks squandered the streets of Detroit to find a rare burger form chorizo. The streets were empty but the stream lights clearly identified where we were supposed to go. The place was welcoming and we were greeted by the girl in the website photo. Everyone ordered a single of some sort, most of us got the chorizo, while two people ordered the black bean. The buns were soft and fluffy. The chorizo was soft, maybe a bit too soft for a burger without it falling apart, but still delicious. I had mine made loco with all the extra toppings (egg, Munster cheese, salsa, slaw). I appreciated they served it with a fork and knife. The garlic cilantro fries were delicious, a lot of garlic (that's a good thing). We played a game of dominoes while we waited for our food. It wasn't too long to get our food, but we were the first ones there before a rush. All of us were really pleased with our food and I received many thanks for introducing everyone to this place. Those thanks were quickly revoked and I was told to pass the thankfulness to my wife when they asked me how I heard of this delicious place. The churros espanol were sooo good! They were the size of my forearm. The dipping sauce is like a creamy hot chocolate in syrup form. We hungry folk were very satisfied and will return, after our winter hibernation is over. read more

Same (?) food menu as the one in Ann Arbor. Just wish they could have smaller tables like regular restaurants do. But the large long tables do make a special interior style and casual and relaxing vibe. read more

I have been to Frita Batidos in Ann Arbor so many times and it is always delicious. Honestly my experience at Frita in Detroit was as good as or better than ever! You need to try this place. In addition to the food being delicious, the space feels great and everyone went out of their way to take care of us. When we went it was busy but not as busy as it usually is in Ann Arbor so the line wasn't too bad and moved really fast. :) read more

Can't say enough about the customer service. I had to wait a bit long for my to go order and they gave me a complimentary fruit salad for the wait. They did mix up the order but the food was yummy. I called to give feedback and appreciated the follow up. The burgers were great, the batidos amazing. So my husband and I could not wait to try this new Detroit location! We've been to the Ann Arbor one quite a few times, and we were so happy to hear that they welcome puppies on their patio! Martika and the team were all so gracious, kind, and efficient! This space is so clean and welcoming, and the old alley now turned into a brick paver walkway is just beautiful to see.We cannot wait to return, and the staff were just incredibly genuine, sweet, and on top of everything. Not to mention - the food is simply amazing! We happened to be there during their happy hour, but this delicious resto is worth visiting at any time! We are so glad you guys are here in Detroit! Visited for the first time last Friday and it was great! The service was awesome, the staff was very welcoming and explained the "deal". Ordering was easy, the food was great and the atmosphere is very casual and friendly. We had a burger, two bowls and some twice fried plaintains. The slow cooked pork was succulent and flavorful, the ropa vieja was incredible and the burger was awesome. The twice fried plaintains were super yummy too! We will definitely be back and another bonus is we can walk from our apartment - so happy there is quality food at affordable prices in Detroit!! read more

The food we had at Frita Batidos was unbelievable! I had the shoestring burger with muenster and an egg added to it and it was out of this world. I also had the best snack ever and it was THE BEST SNACK EVER. It could probably be a meal of its own, and I could not believe just how incredibly packed it was with layers of flavor! I normally don't eat beans and don't like them but I gave the snack a try and now I'm hooked. My boyfriend got the inspired Cuban and he said it was absolutely incredible. He was very excited to have the kind of Coke that comes in a glass bottle, and I loved my Mexican Chocolate batido! Beyond the food, though, I was so impressed with the genuine happiness of the staff. It's clear that the owner has their best interests at heart. I follow the owner's restaurant pages on Facebook, and was again impressed to see that they choose ethical food sources, listen to their team member ideas, and promote and celebrate inclusivity on holidays (free meal for veterans on veterans day, offering matzo as a friendly alternative during Passover, etc). I am blown away by the passion and love put into these restaurants, I am THRILLED there is a Detroit location (closer to me than the Ann Arbor locations), and I will be a customer for life!!!! Good food, but expensive for what it is. My wife and I went and spent close to $40 for 2 sandwiches, fries, and a hibiscus shake during happy hour. Shake was awesome, but on the small side. Positive was that the Frita Batidos staff was patient, courteous, and helpful in guiding us through the many selections. Had eaten at the Ann Arbor location during happy hour when my son was at Michigan, so my son wanted us to try this new place in Detroit. BTW, there was a strong body odor smell at the Ann Arbor location the two times we ate there, but there was no issue at the Detroit restaurant. read more

Visited the Detroit Frita Batidos a few days after it opened, knowing how amazing the location is in AA, we were excited! We got the chorizo frita, cilantro lime fries, margarita, and coconut cream batido. The food and service was incredi. We went back 2 weeks later for the same drinks and fries, but our experience was immensely different. The coconut cream batido was honestly horrendous. It had the texture of cement powder mixed with water, truly inedible. We mentioned this to our server, to which she responded "uhm. Okay." Followed by her walking away. Coming from someone who eats out consistently and never complains/sends food back (regardless of obviously having bad experiences here and there)- I'm shook, mostly by the servers complete disregard to our legitimate concern. Will not be returning to either location. Update: Eve reached out to refund our meal as well as explain what might have went wrong. Very impressed with the customer service she displayed! read more
