I was born and raised in South Philadelphia, about 9 blocks from Pat's Steaks and Geno's. Went to South Philadelphia High, then Temple University. I tell you this because I am a true, South Philly cheesesteak aficionado. I have eaten literally hundreds (if not over a thousand) cheesesteaks and hoagies throughout my life. Anyone who is from Philadelphia would never give this place over 2 stars. I was greeted by a very nice gentleman in the evening of obvious Middle Eastern descent and accent. He claimed to be from Philly. He never heard of Amoroso's rolls, Wise potato chips,Tastykakes or for that matter...Scrapple and Taylor Pork Roll. I suspect the closest he got to Philly is Las Vegas. I ordered a cheesesteak and hoagie and was sorely disappointed in both. The bread while fresh was much too hard to absorb any of the sandwiches' juices which is generally half the battle, the hoagies come standard with mustard and mayo, (SACRILEGE) the meats on the Italian hoagie were dry (notwithstanding my vinegar and oil request which was barely put on). The cheesesteak had inadequate flavor and was no better than any cheesesteak other place. Philly's Best makes a very good sandwich and Jersey Mike's (order their hoagies Mike's Way with vinegar and oil and herbs and freshly sliced meats) is MUCH better than this place. Jersey Mike's takes it in my opinion. Of course nothing beats Pat's, Geno's, Jim's or Steve's in Philly but Jersey Mike's is a decent West Coast substitute. From Philly did have a great selection of my beloved Frank's sodas such as Black Cherry, Grape and Root Beer. I'd go there for the sodas and I have not and probably won't try their other sandwiches or I think they serve pizza as well. Quite disappointing to an experienced cheesesteak / hoagie lover. And it ain't called a "submarine," you find those in the ocean. read more

Excellent, especially for the area (as in, for Orange County, this is a welcome food choice). The place is clean, the employees are awesome, nice little shop... I went with the traditional cheese-steak sandwich. The meat was pretty good, the peppers were fresh, just the right amount of cheese, and the bread was baked within the last half-day. A good sandwich. Take advantage of the full parking lot while you're there. There is a liquor store next store with a CRAFT BEER FREEZER, lots of options in there. And they usually have a special on hard-alcohol if you look for it. Order your sandwich next door, get a beer from the liquor store, (pick up your sandwich) and then go home and watch cartoons or something. The prices are a bit high, but the sandwiches are large enough for two people. One $11 sandwich is enough for two people. read more

OMG!!!!! This is what you call quality FOOD! When I tell you me and all of my co-workers are hooked! Pros: Large portions, very generous with the amount of cheese,meat and grilled veggies. Bread is so soft and of great quality. The actual building is very clean and spacious. The staff is always so friendly and willing to help. The owner will make "secret" menu items when he is there if you ask. This place really makes you feel like you are in Philly eating a cheese-steak. This place occupies the former space of a pizza place that was connected to the liquor store. The polite cashier told us they'd been open about 7 months. The restaurant was shiny clean. Like, operating-room clean. A great first impression. There are shelves and refrigerators lined with blocks of cheese, meats, drinks and peppers. Just another detail that adds to the allure of this place. The menu is packed with stuff I want to try. This time, we got a regular Philly and a Chicken Cheese Steak so we could try both. My girlfriend preferred the steak, and I loved the chicken. I can't wait to go back and support this local business. The cashier and chef were both polite and personable, and the food was on point. Very friendly and good service. Very patient with me ordering since I had not been here before. The inside was very clean as well. Parking was super easy. Since it was my first time, I just ordered the traditional Philly cheesesteak. I got it with everything except the mayo. I found the sandwich to be good but I wish they chopped up the meat. Also I felt there were not enough onions or peppers. The bread was really good...and that to me is critical to have a good sandwich. Would I go back? Sure, but only if I was in the area. My first time here today and this place is great, which is why I don't understand the negative reviews. Plenty of parking, restaurant is clean, was greeted really warmly by the cashier. I got the Original Philly Cheesesteak and yea, it is a little messy (be prepared to get your hands dirty) but BOMB. They load it with tons of meat, bell peppers and cheeeeese. The perfect combination to make any great sandwich!! It is $10.49 but its massive, so share it with someone or bring it home for dinner. Decided to try this place out since it is very close to my work. I mobile ordered a veggie philly at 12:30pm to pickup at 1pm. After picking up I took it back to work and opened it and didn't expect this hot garbage. Dripping in grease and soggier than a sponge. I understand when an establishment has big proportions but it's understandable when it's good food. This sandwich is no where in the realm of good food. All the veggies seemed like they were thrown on the grill drenched in oil, let sit for about 1 minute then thrown on the bread, because nothing was warm. It is as if they made it when I ordered at 12:30pm and let sit til my pickup time at 1pm. If your are looking for a nice greasy and Soggy excuse of a sandwich on your lunch time go right ahead and come here. I made a huge mistake skipping out on subway for this. Not sure how this place is getting 5 stars. My theory is that these people have very low standards and are willing to throw 5 stars to anything. The place isn't bad but a really good cheesesteak has some requirements. An Amarosa roll is primary, along with thinly sliced beef and for those of us outside of Philly, provolone cheese. Pretty much this sums up the primary vendor of cheesesteaks in the area. I ordered their staple cheesesteak and without a doubt was a little taken aback by the price. $10 is a lot for any sandwich. The sandwich came out pretty quickly and I was pleased by the size of it, a whole lotta sando for the $$$. Kind of wish they offered a smaller size because by the time I got to the second half I was just picking at it. I do have these two recommendations, 1) trim the meat better. I got too much gristle and was pulling the fat from the meat just to eat it. 2) drop the cheddar cheese from the sandwich. After getting through the first half I felt I was weighed down more than expected. I realized it was the cheddar cheese in the sandwich. The grease from the meat along with the oil from the cheese was too much. I actually thought the orange was Cheese Wiz which would be more traditional. I do plan on coming back and trying one of the other sandwiches. My go to for a cheesesteak is The Cheesesteak Shop in Northern Cal and then the local vendor, Philly's Best. read more

I got their traditional Philly cheesesteak, which was absolutely delicious! However, the amount of meat and the overall size of the sandwich was disappointingly small, especially for $15. For a similar price, Johns philly grille gives you a much meatier sandwich that's about twice the size. Taste is great but the value is terrible. On top of that when I paid with card, there was no option for no tip. I don't think we should be forced to tip for picking up a phone order. read more

Fun, quick, quality spot for a cheesecake. Seemed family owned and friendy. Clean bright lights and i didnt need any ketchup on my cheesesteak or chicken cheesesteak. Of course, anytime you get a cheese steak OUTSIDE of Philly it will never have that Philly authentic food truck look and taste. This sandwich is HUGE and filled to the brim with meat, peppers, onions and melted cheese. Yes, the price is a little high, but you definitely get your monies worth and it's perfect for sharing! Solid 4 - 4.5 Stars I drove past this location today and noticed the new signs on the building next to the Liquor store that this place is located at so I decided to turn around and give it a try for lunch. I'm so happy I did. This place is newly remodeled and all the fixtures and equipment is new. The girl who took my order said they have only been open for a few weeks. I ordered their "Traditional Philly Cheesesteak" and asked for it to go and grabbed their to go menu and brought it back too. I noticed they had a self serve refrigerator that is stocked with all sorts of different craft sodas and soft drinks. They even had "New York Seltzer" which was cool. I just got back to my office and ate it and it was very delicious. They melted provolone and American cheese together in with the steak and peppers. Be sure to grab their side of cherry pepper condiment sauce to add to the cheesesteak. The sandwich is a little pricey ($10.50) but it is a good size. They have many other sandwiches and have some deep fried food on the menu also. I look forward to returning soon to perhaps try some other sandwiches on their menu. read more
