This restaurant is located at Southcoast plaza next to Macy's. Super cute and quaint restaurant, very clean, and friendly staff. My friend and I tried nearly everything on the Happy Hour menu. They were all delcious but the classic grilled cheese with tomato soup was soooo comforting. Also had the lavender blueberry drink which was great. Overall a really great place to grab lunch. Will come by again!

Delicious, fresh, quick service, fun atmosphere. Sessions is a great spot to stop in for lunch - we tried their fries and tuna melt and were blown away with the quality and freshness/flavor. Sign up for their text messages and receive $10 off your first order!

If you're shopping at South Coast Plaza, Sessions West Coast Deli is a great spot to stop for a meal. You can enter through Macy's or from the outside, which makes it convenient either way. Based on what other reviews mention, it's not necessarily a quick stop, but it's a good meal that's worth the time. (I usually order ahead, and the wait time tends to be around 15 minutes). My favorites are the Meddock Melee, the Spicy Crispy Chicken, and the Thai Chop Salad. Definitely a solid option when you need a break from shopping.

I stopped by Sessions West Coast Deli inside Macy's at South Coast Plaza during a recent shopping trip in Costa Mesa, and it quickly became my new go-to spot in the mall. Has that perfect laid-back California surf vibe without feeling stuffy. It's ideal for a quick lunch or even a happy hour wind-down while you're at the Plaza. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient -- exactly what you want when you're on a shopping schedule. Staff were helpful with menu recommendations, and everything came out fresh and hot. I loved that they handle the busy crowd smoothly with good counter service and dine-in options.

Happy hour: pineapple ginger tonic, single single(burger), korean chicken tenders

I'm thankful for trying this place during happy hour because the food here was delicious and the service was great. We have decided to buy some items on the happy hour menu and wow they are tasty. I would 100% recommend the korean chicken tenders due to the seasoning/sauce. I would also recommend the pineapple ginger tonic because its so refreshing and gives that zing taste in a good way. I prefer the burger over the chicken sandwich but I got to say, they both are the type to drop sauce every bite if you like them that way. Overall, I enjoy the vibe and food from this place. 5/5 stars I would come again. single single and rosemary fries 3.5/5 pineapple ginger tontic 4/5 korean chicken tenders 4.5/5 spicy crispy crunchy chicken 3/5

Loved this spot since it opened in South Coast Plaza. Not sure if I caught them on a bad day but seems like they've watered down some of their menu items. The Meddock Melee sandwich used to come on this great artisan squaw bread that resembled a square ciabatta bread. It had great bite and crispy corners that added texture. Now it comes on a much flimsier roll similar to the 'Cheesecake Factory' brown bread they sell in the grocery aisle. Sliced turkey also feels like a lower quality cut. It used to have texture and now it tastes like thin sliced /water infused prepackaged grocery turkey. Rosemary fries used to be slightly thicker, super crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Now they're a lower quality shoe string fry that's on the dry side. Maybe they're between suppliers? But if these are cost cutting measures, the difference is very much palpable.

Good quick lunch spot in south coast that won't break the bank. Meatball sub came with dipping sauce and half salad/sandwich and soup combo was pretty generous. About $50 fo two people. Casual vibe. Full bar. Some TVs. Indoor an outdoor seating. Order at counter and they bring out your food. Cute and modern vibes. Wished they had more soup offerings beyond tomato and broccoli cheddar

We were at the mall yesterday so stopped by Sessions West Coast Deli for a quick bite. I got my favorite dish: Thai chicken salad. They changed the recipe a bit and do the roast chicken now instead of grilled chicken for the salad. It was still good. I like it that Sessions use the nice and better mixed greens instead of just the plain lettuce. Hubby had the burger and he liked it. Stepped out for a few minutes while waiting for the kitchen to prepare our foods. When I saw my salad on the table and came back in, his burger was gone! Yes, it disappeared in no time. :)

I have been going to this location at South Coast Plaza for 3 years and always have a great time quick and kind service. This past month I had the pleasure to meet Karchidi who's service goes above and beyond most restaurants I go to, even when I go for a quick break and a hello, Karchidi always greats me with such meaningful kindness and warmth it makes a whole lot of difference when she asks me about my day. I'll be looking forward to seeing you for lunch!!!

Ordered takeout so cannot comment on service or ambience. This was my first time trying Sessions and I enjoyed my sandwich. The Greatfella ($15) was extremely good and packed with ham with a juicy vinaigrette. I also got the seasonal Nana's chicken noodle ($6) -- the presentation alone makes it worth it. The radish was a nice touch and complimented the chicken flavor of the soup. Overall, I would order again if I was in the mood for a sandwich.

I was deciding on where to snag lunch on my way to another store doing my rounds and I really wanted a sandwich. I decided to get the Turkado, some dirty Maui chips and drink. The total came to $17 and some change, not bad about the avg for the area and any lunch. The service was great, the woman who helped me was nice, and efficient, she helped me select what chips to get. Not much bantering but I do enough of that at work, so all good here. The store was clean, nice vibe, music. My order was ready in the time it took me to fill my soda cup and sit down to scroll 1 scroll thru outlook emails. Maybe 5-7 mins the woman who gave me my order asked if I wanted some secret sauce on the side, and put it in the bag. The bag felt heavy! The sub was huge! Probably 8inches bread was nice and springy, there was enough lettuce, tomato and sauces on it. I love the sunflower seeds, gives it a nice little crunch. The meat is more of a very thin piled high but there is a lot of it! I like how the sub is assembled meat, cheese, toppings sauce, it seems to hold together nicely.

This review covers my experience across multiple locations, including Harbor Boulevard in Costa…read moreMesa and Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach. When I first started coming to Board and Brew, I would have given it a solid five stars, but my perspective has shifted after six years of exploring other local options in the county. The Evolution of the Experience: * Ingredients: While the food is definitely better than a pre-made deli sandwich from a grocery store, it isn't exactly top-tier. The bread and meat are good, but as you try more specialized places, you realize these are fairly standard. * The Famous Sauce: Their signature sauce is tasty, but it feels like it contains a high amount of monosodium glutamate (MSG). MSG is a neuro-exciter that can make people feel overstimulated or unwell after eating it, and it feels particularly intense in this recipe. * Consistency: Both the Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa locations were great initially, but they now feel more like a solid, middle-of-the-road option. The Best Use Case: * Catering & Events: Even with a three-star rating, this is absolutely the place I would go if I needed catering for a birthday party or a large event. Their pricing and preparation for bulk orders are hard to beat. Final Thoughts: If Yelp allowed half-stars, I'd probably give this a 3.5. It's a reliable, solid sandwich shop, but the ingredient quality and the intensity of the MSG in the sauce keep it from being a five-star favorite for me anymore. Edit: The owner replied to my comment about how their food is high quality, but 6 years of taste testing says otherwise. While you may not add pure MSG crystals to your sauce, it still contains MSG.It is misleading to claim "No MSG" or "High Quality" when the sauce relies on ingredients that are chemically identical to it. For instance: Tomatoes and Tomato Paste: These are among the highest natural sources of free glutamate. If the recipe uses tomato paste--as many copycats do--it will test positive for MSG. Soy Sauce & Worcestershire Sauce: Both frequently cited in recipes for this sauce, these contain naturally occurring MSG through fermentation or hydrolysis. Nutritional Yeast: Often used to provide a savory flavor, it naturally contains high levels of glutamate.Hydrolyzed Proteins: Ingredients like "hydrolyzed vegetable protein" (HVP) or "yeast extract" are processed specifically to release glutamates. Legally, a company might say they "don't use MSG" if they don't add the pure additive, but that is a technicality. MSG is linked to various health issues for sensitive individuals, and just because many consider it "safe" doesn't mean it's healthy or non-harmful. If the food is truly "high quality," why rely on these additives to create flavor? Best Wishes
