My question to all my fellow Yelpers out there, is how can this be an authentic Philly cheesesteak if it's made with ROAST BEEF????? That's right, the same Dietz and Watson ROAST BEEF that's in their refrigerator!!! For $12 a sandwich and all the 5 star reviews, I wasn't expecting ROAST BEEF. For $10 you can get a cheesesteak made with real steak from Frank's Philadelphia, and for $8 you can get a cheesesteak made with real steak from Philly's Best. If I knew From Philly's cheesesteaks were made with ROAST BEEF, I would never have come to this fony place. After taking my first bite, I knew it was ROAST BEEF because: 1) it looked like ROAST BEEF from the supermarket; 2) the slices of beef had a rainbow color to it like the cold cut ROAST BEEF from the supermarket; 3) you can tell it's the same Dietz and Watson cold cut ROAST BEEF because the edge of the meat is the same color as the Dietz and Watson ROAST BEEF in their refrigerator; 4) I'm not a moron and I know the difference between ROAST BEEF and steak. I'll never come back to this place again. Yelp needs to suspend all the fake 5 star reviewers out there. Skip this fony place and stick with Frank's Philadelphia or Philly's Best. read more

Went there for lunch with some coworkers. Ordered the ordered a couple traditional cheese steaks, cheese fries, and the poor Italian hoagie. First I want to say the sandwiches are huge, definitely get your monies worth with a sandwich! The cheesesteaks were fantastic, great blend of steak, cheese and peppers. The poor italian was packed with meat and cheese. Both were on hoagie rolls, nice and soft on the inside, with a little bit of crunch on the outside. The cheese fries were fantastic, again a lot of food, 4 adult men split one order. One word of caution with this place, eh food comes out piping hot, so give your food a chance to cool down. Also, after we were served our food, a worker offered us some home made meatballs to try on our fries, they were fantastic, sauce was tasty, but the best part is there were pepperonchinis on the inside of the meatballs, absolutely loved that, not to hot to blow you up, but just enough heat to compliment the flavorful sauce. Will definetly order a meatball sub next time, and add meatballs to our cheese fries. Overall, out standing service, excellent food, parking can be cramped, but there is street parking available. I heard about this place so I thought I'd give it a try. And I'm glad I did because it was a great experience. The manager, Deyanah, greeted me and took my order for the meatball sub. It was delicious. Definitely the best sub I've had in a while. I forgot to order the Italian ice (an East Coast fav) for dessert, so I have to return soon for another sub and the ice! If you're a foodie then this is your spot. I recommend that you download the "From Philly" app (that's right, they got their own app). Not only can you check out the menu and prices, but you can order your food and pay for it in advance. It's perfect if you're in a hurry, or the store is crowded, or you just want to get in and get out. The staff was pleasant but this deli is in an inconspicuous location. Saw this place on Yelp and couldn't wait to try it. And they did not disappoint! We tried the traditional Philly cheesesteak and cheese fries. The cheesesteak was flavorful. Bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Size was fairly big that I was able to share a sandwich with my daughter and was full. The cheese fries were ok overall ... I liked that that the fries has some sort of coating that made it crunchy. Saturday's special was free chips and fountain drink - that was a plus! We all really enjoyed this place. I have a new fav take-out place!!! I actually live a block away from this place frequent the liquor store that's next door to this place around once a week. Over the past few years I've seen this particular spot go from a terrible pizza place, to a mediocre pizza and kabob place, to now an awesome cheesesteak spot. Have been in a few times so far and have had the regular cheesesteak, the Italian sausage sandwich and the chicken cheesesteak. All were great but the regular cheesesteak is absolutely phonemenal and (speaking as someone who's never been to Philadelphia) is literally the best I've ever eaten. The bread is out of this world. Soft and a bit spongy on the inside, slightly crusty on the outside, it's great! Go get one of these sandwiches. Oh and ask for the "cherry sauce." It's like a vinegar and oil based sauce with chipped hot peppers in it and it is the perfect addition to the cheesesteak. Parking lot can be a little tight these days during the dinner hour because this place is pretty popular. read more

Decided to try this place out since it is very close to my work. I mobile ordered a veggie philly at 12:30pm to pickup at 1pm. After picking up I took it back to work and opened it and didn't expect this hot garbage. Dripping in grease and soggier than a sponge. I understand when an establishment has big proportions but it's understandable when it's good food. This sandwich is no where in the realm of good food. All the veggies seemed like they were thrown on the grill drenched in oil, let sit for about 1 minute then thrown on the bread, because nothing was warm. It is as if they made it when I ordered at 12:30pm and let sit til my pickup time at 1pm. If your are looking for a nice greasy and Soggy excuse of a sandwich on your lunch time go right ahead and come here. I made a huge mistake skipping out on subway for this. I'm a Costa Mesa local and have long wanted to try this place especially after seeing ads on social media. I know this was a relatively new place bec there was something else at that spot before. It's location is unusual, not in traditional foodie places which was good, lots of parking - my wife was glad she didn't have problems parking on a Friday evening. There's outdoor seating too so pet friendly. I had the traditional as recommended, WOW! Just good sandwich. Flavorful and worth the money. Hands down the best Cheesesteak I've ever had!!! It tasted like a sexual experience from an angel, made of all things that would taste good in your mouth. I cried a little when I tried this cheesesteak. The meat was tender, the cheese melts in your mouth in the most perfect way, and the bread is a lightly toasted golden halo of succulent. I LOVE this place! I order my cheesesteak with no bread and they always accommodate. The beef is high quality and the cheese is as well. I can get a few meals off one sandwich :) The cheese fries are really good too. The staff is always super friendly. From Philly is way better than the other cheesesteak restaurants in the area, in my opinion. My husband has tried quite a few of their other sandwiches and he likes them, but I think the cheesesteak is the best. I have heard the meatball sub is amazing, but I have not tried it yet. Fkn amazing delicious!! Order the traditional, it's loaded with premium cut steak and it's sliced at the right thickness it is moist and tender not chewy or dry. The cheese is really creamy throughout the meat because it's real. They use two or three kinds. Such perfection. Bell peppers and onions here and there add a little bite. Now that baguette they're using is soo fresh. It's soft but not soggy even the second half of the sandwich I had a few hours later was dam good. It's brushed with melted butter and warmed to order, it's not chewy or tuff it's just the best cheese steak I have ever had. Top sandwiches you're Gonna find. Second visit today. First time I had a traditional cheesesteak. The bread was fantastic but the overall flavor of the sandwich was a little flat. There was no self serve hot sauce nor was any offered. The reason for the two stars is service. I went back today to try something different. After ordering and paying the counter guy said it would be 10-15 minutes. Quite a while for a cold sandwich, especially when I was in a hurry. I was sitting in front of the guy that took my order for 20 minutes, as I watched others pay and get their food. I assumed they had preordered or something. Finally I asked how much longer, and was told they hadn't started and had lost track of the order. I couldn't afford any more wait and asked for a refund. I got it, but was shorted tax and tip (that was my last time ever pre-paying a tip! Sorry other take out places - these guys ruined it for you.) I can get more money, but can't get any more time...I will respect yours if you respect mine. The ownership has clearly spent a lot of money on fixtures and decoration. I recommend spending a bit more on a register that can manage orders, and perhaps more on staff who can realize that the customer sitting in front of them without food is missing something. read more
