Definitely a good find in downtown Salt Lake that was within walking distance from our hotel. Very short wait, large open windows with street views to people watch. Looking at all the plates coming off from the grill, we knew we made a good choice. We had the Pastrami Burger and the Egg Burger, which I switched up and got protein style. Overall, the portion sizes were bigger and more than solid. I did feel like the meat needed to be seasoned a bit more, and after it arrived, I realized that our server did not ask how we wanted our Burgers cooked. Both burgers came out well done, which took away from the overall flavor & were dry. I like my burgers medium but I assumed with them specializing in various burgers, it would start there. Service was good wtih frequent check-ins and drink refills.

The food was ok! We sat down very quickly but it took an hour to get our food. Our server was very nice and quick with drinks. The chocolate cake was amazing.

CAJUN PASTA , creamy and nicely spicy.

Bright, modern decor. Friendly and attentive staff. Very family friendly. Good pizza, pasta, salads; elevated casual food menu. My Cajun pasta was creamy, nicely spicy , and flavorful. The grilled cheese for the kids was an impressive"artisan sandwich" instead of the usual American cheese on white bread. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and I do not have more pictures, because they were starving and started eating before I could pull out my camera.

From Scratch is a small yet mighty restaurant near the Gallivan Center that offers delicious homemade food. They have a nice, chill atmosphere that is inviting for all ages. My dining partner and I enjoyed a bowl of minestrone soup that paired with the sourdough bread and a side of sweet potato fries. Those fries were ah-mazing! Be sure to request a parking validation for the adjacent parking lot.

The one thing I like at From Scratch is their white pizza. Warning, it does have a lot of garlic. It's a cute location, but the service isn't very fast. There's ample seating if you have a large group, but the times I've been whether it's small or large groups-it's always very slow.

Very good. Good ambiance. Casual. Great service. Quinoa bowl was very good. My chair was hard metal so not very comfortable which I thought was a little weird. An attempt at being unique, I guess. I would go back.

I was lucky to receive a gift card promotion from this restaurant. So I decided to stop by for lunch on a Friday. The restaurant itself got pretty busy. The pomegranate lemon drop couldn't have been better. I would say slightly less syrup would make it more digestible. The short rib dish was good. I thought that the meat itself could've been a little more tender. Unfortunately the carrots were just a little too hard to cut with a butter knife. All in all I did enjoy the atmosphere and they validate parking.

In town for a conference and wanted a healthy meal with organic ingredients, Ordered the wild caught salmon, mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. This hit the spot! Delicious meal, great service and clean restaurant. Thank you! Note: I forgot to take my own photo so for transparency I grabbed this one off the internet. Really amazing food! Give it a try!

My favorite spot in Salt Lake City Everything from scratch. The bread is incredible. It's worth every penny. The biggest surprise was the Brussels sprouts. They really stole the show. Service was awesome and it's a very comfortable space. I love coming here when I'm in town. One tip, call to get reservations. It gets super busy and reservations are limited.

Amazing brick oven pizza!! Like I crave this all the time! And their ranch with it is top tier! My friends have gotten their sandwiches and love them. The service also is usually pretty great! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of parking! It's hard to find parking, and if it was easier I would be coming more often! But still worth it to come!!!!

This was my first experience at From Scratch, and it won't be my last! I don't know what I expected but it wasn't this. It was so GOOD. We shared the special a bacon Avocado cheeseburger with fries and a fennel sausage pizza. The burger came out looking like an advertisement burger (the ones that are never real because they look too good, with all of their perfect toppings and layers. The meat was juicy and well seasoned. The bacon was thick, and crisp, lots of thinly layered onion, lettuce tomato and sauce. The bun was soft. The pizza was yummy, the crust was so good it could be eaten plain. There was homemade ranch, and ketchup and it was all so good. I wanted to take a picture of the burger after I took some bites, but it was too good to put it down and go through that!! The service was good, they kept the water refills coming and were really attentive. The restaurant and bathroom were clean and tidy. I can't wait to try more dishes!!!

We were on a trip to Park City/SLC and From Scratch was a 2 minute drive from our hotel. The menu looked good, so we called an Uber and made our way over. I'm glad we took a ride share, because the parking is almost non-existent here. This place's atmosphere is unfortunately one of those cold, sterile, Millennial restaurants with the uncomfortable stool seating and the cement floors. Random artwork, food served on cutting boards, cramped seating, AC blasting. Not really my type of place, but some may enjoy the "aesthetic". The coldness continued over to the staff. The hosts looked borderline annoyed that we were there. Maybe we read too much into it and they just simply were having a bad day, but they were giving us the death glare. Our server Jayce was also very rushed, but to her defense, she was working like a chicken with no head while the manager sat there and enjoyed a drink. The food was okay, nothing special. We started with the Wood-Fired Bread, which was actually pretty dry despite the hype our server gave it. The jams & butters on the side helped a bit, but we wouldn't get it again. Our entrees took 35 minutes to come out after we placed them. I ordered the Braised Short Ribs, and my Mom ordered the Tri-Tip Steak. My Braised Short Rib was a let down. The meat was cold on the inside, and the mashed potatoes were cold as well. My carrots were good but they only gave me 2. My Mom's steak was pretty good and tender, but the mashed potatoes were cold just like mine were. We told our server and they gave us a complimentary dessert, a Tiramisu. It was okay, kind of mushy, but it had a good coffee flavor. I'm giving 2 stars because I think this place has potential, but they need to work on their service and making sure their food is coming out hot. Everything looked better than it tasted.

    Beef Stroganoff
    Nix J.

The service was really good. The burger was a little dry, and the fries quite greasy. The salad was great, and the beef stroganoff pasta was really great.

From the daily specials menu, the Cajun pasta was exceptional.

Is five dollars a bit much when you can get something similar in New York for two or three? Maybe. But it's not New York, so I get it. Overall, it's a really decent size slice, not too much sauce, maybe slightly thinner than a typical New York slice, but with just the right amount of toppings and enough pepperoni grease that you need a roll of paper towels to soak it up.

We had the bread with whipped cheese and hot honey along with the grilled caesar salad and crudo for appetizers. They were all beautifully presented and delicious but the caesar blew us away and was one of our favorite bites of the night. We got a few more cocktails to enjoy with dinner--the Mezzin' Around and a gin, mint, and lime drink I forgot the name of. We enjoyed both of these as well. For entrees, I got the carbonara and my husband got the squid ink pasta with lobster. I've never seen more beautifully presented pasta dishes in my life. The flavor matched the beauty too--and the portions were good enough to take half home. My husband was incredibly happy with all the lobster in his pasta. We took a raspberry tiramisu home, which was also delicious. The bill came to $208 before tip, which matched the quality of the food and restaurant experience. I'm excited to come back and try other things as I believe the menu changes regularly.

The ranch dressing was delicious but the pizza sauce was more closely related to ketchup than anything Italian. We went with the Mountain of Meat pizza (pepperoni, ham, sausage, salami, and ground beef) on a thick crust and it was very good.
