The mushroom pizza and roasted beet salad was really good here! The portions are generous as well since the two of us couldn't finish it. The only thing that wasn't good there was the shrimp scampi pasta since it was way too heavy for the both of us - we thought it tasted more like an alfredo sauce based on how thick the sauce was. The manager was kind enough to remove it off our check without us asking when he realized we weren't a big fan of it. Food was good. The whiteout pizza was really amazing but if you don't like garlic cloves this pizza might not be for you. The scratch burger came with a red sauce that left the burger soggy but the taste wasn't bad and the fries that came with the burger were limp and weren't the best. The butternut squash soup tasted like a super sweet gravy. The service and staff was great. The place was empty when we arrived and stared to fill up closer to dinner time. Mixed emotions on this place. Went with coworkers and ordered some items to share. First the highlights: HONEY APPLE SALAD $7: The spicy bite of the arugula, crunch of the almonds and apples, creaminess of the ricotta, and sweetness of the honey vinaigrette were a sublime combination. Delicious Bun, shoestring onions, smoked cheddar and a little touch of some white mayo-like sauce. (Better not be that special Yelper sauce.) Served with awesome fries that were tasty, even though they were not hot when they arrived at the table. It takes a damn good fry to taste good cold. WHITE OUT PIZZA $12: Lets start out by saying the semolina dusted thin crust cooked in the wood fired pizza oven was perfect. I am not a hug fan of white pizzas but they did a decent job with balancing the Alfredo, Ricotta, Parmesan Reggiano, and Mozzarella. It was not too heavy or rich. There were plentiful amounts of roasted garlic cloves sprinkled on the pizza for good measure. Now the lowlights: QUICHE SPECIAL $12: Who serves their quiche cold? Yuck. Oddly enough this cold quiche (and the adjacent table as well) received this dish about 10 minutes later then all the other dishes. Why would cold quiche take 10 minutes longer to plate up then the other cooked items? I may never know. We sent the quiche back to be warmed up but it was still cold inside. And to top it off...the quiche was not that good. Meh...I declare this dish the loser of lunch. My first impression upon walking in here was tainted by this off-putting musty mildew like smell. Not really what you are looking for when dining. Additionally, This place is too hard to get to and makes coming back unlikely. Parking is a nightmare. They do not validate at any nearby garages. I have been trying to come here for months and I was excited to give them a try. My husband and I were both disappointed. First off the service was poor. Our waiter had greasy hair that he kept pushing out of his face. He came to take our order and to give us the bill and that was it. Someone else brought our food, no one asked if everything was okay and I had to flag someone else down to get a refill on drinks for the whole table. I had the salami pizza. The description said it came with speck, which is a delicious Italian cured meat. It was definitely more like a regular ham and it was soooo salty. The crust of the pizza is large and was brushed in oil then covered in tons of salt. The crust is usually my favorite part, but after two bites I wanted to gag. I spent 15 bucks on a pizza that I didn't want to eat more than a few bites of and no one else wanted it either. My husband got the bacon blue cheese burger and the meat and bun were good, but again the bacon and sauce were ridiculously salty. The fries and housemade ketchup were good, but that was about it. This place is definitely not worth the hype or the price, I won't be back. There are much better burgers and Italian pizzas out there, which is basically all you can get at from scratch. read more

The pizza there is your trendy artisan neapolitan style pizza but with a better thicker airy crust. They use lots of locally sourced ingredients like meats from Creminelli and Caputos. They mill their own flour in house on a daily basis from an imported wooden mill. In addition to the non traditional appetizers, they have salads and pasta dishes. The short ribs appetizers were a bit on the dry side for me. Pleasant surprise that the limeade had free refills but it's so sugary not many are needed. Prices are on the high side even for a downtown lunch. I would subtract a star for pricing but they are just starting out so I won't. They will be offering dinner and perhaps bread service once things settle down. I really hope they do good things with their wonderful dough. read more

The food was pretty good! My husband got the burger and fries. The fry sauce was a little strange... is that cinnamon and nutmeg in that? The white out pizza was pretty good. I'd prefer if there weren't just full cloves of garlic in the pizza, but other than that- no complaints. I also ordered their side salad. 3.5 STARS / We watched our food sit out at the bar for over 15 minutes and get cold. The server was LOST--she even walked up to the window looked at our food and walked away. She never came over to us once to refill drinks or check in. We had to ask another server for a refill. They looked potentially understaffed, but she was completely incapable of doing her job at the basic level. I WOULD recommend this place for the food. The marg pizza is one of the best in salt lake and the kitchen knows how to pump out high quality food. The manager was on the floor with the servers greeting guests and picking up slack. I also got an insane amount of fries. She gave me the ranch, barbecue sauce, and what looked and tasted like a ketchup. As a ranch connoisseur, I somewhat approve of the ranch. I can tell that it is not homemade but it is not very flavorful as ranch should be. I found it to be bland honestly. The ranch was great consistency, but they definitely need to add some spices in there so it doesn't taste like runny mayo. The barbecue sauce and ketchup was a little odd, but still pretty decent with the fries. The service was alright, nothing spectacular but not terrible. When I got my bill, I was slightly salty that ranch was .50 and barbecue was another .50 because the menu made it sound like adding both of them would be .50. I am not about to fight over .50 but I wouldn't have ordered both if I knew they were both going to be advertised together but sold separately. This is a hidden gem here in Salt Lake City. A nice little restaurant that's tucked into a alley way with little traffic around. The decor here is very simple but yet welcoming. If you come here on the weekday during lunch time you'll notice many people sitting here in work attire. For how busy this place is the food gets served pretty fast. Their menu is very simple, but they are all made "from scratch". Their scratch burger is super yummy. The patty is super juicy, bun is flavorful and even their fries seem to be freshly cut (not like those store bought ones). My friend told me that their pizza is super delicious. We had been looking forward to dining at this restaurant and were we disappointed. The service was extremely slow and not at all attentive. I ordered the fettuccine and it was mediocre at best; my wife's vegan bowl (the only vegan selection) was oily and unappealing. It was however $16! The prices were as high as one expects these days with restaurants making up for lost revenue during the pandemic. The service left a lot to be desired - I asked for bread to accompany the fettuccini and it finally arrived after we had finished and it was essentially inedible (covered with cheese and broiled). We will not eat here again. In general, restaurants are having a difficult time hiring people despite higher wages and they have countered the extra costs by raising prices - gads! $3 for a cup of coffee or an ice tea. read more
