SWA so far is the only airline we use for domestic flights. I am a rapid rewards member and have…read morethe rapid rewards visa. Fares are usually quite reasonable and the ability to change your flight based on price to get an adjustment is seamless. Although there has been alot of negative associated with SWA lately because of the elimination of 2 free checked bags and now utilizing assigned seating and the elimination of the a, b, and c boarding groups. As a swa visa cardholder depending on your status, you still retain at the very least 1 free checked bag. I found the new boarding groups less chaotic and crowded which was a relief for me. Annoying is the word I would use to describe people who all at once are trying to put their unchecked bags in the overhead bins. Not so much this flight out of Hou Hobby! Although this flight was sold out everything was very smooth with the boarding procedure. I also found the assigned seating straight forward and not a bunch people trying to find an open seat all at once. The in-flight coffee is wonderful and as I said for before the best in the sky! Thank you Southwest for this! I did the see that they also added cherry coke zero as an option as well as hornitos margaritas. So the most unique and wonderful thing I found was that there is a phone holder now in front of you now to watch your videos at your seat on the newer Max 8 planes! We loved this! Overall I luv SWA and will continue to fly with them! My only gripe was the large group surrounding our seats talking loud and using profanity at 445 in the morning as well as passing food around as if I was going to help them pass their food around?

Up until Houston, Southwest staff had been wonderful. My sister and I were able to stay with our mom through security and boarding assistance without any issues. Then we encountered one employee who completely changed the tone of the trip. She approached us and abruptly said, "Wheelchair?" with an attitude that immediately caught us off guard. When she realized we intended to remain with our mother, she informed us we would not be boarding together. My mother responded that she would wait with her children, and the employee snapped back, "They're getting on the plane! What's the problem?" The lack of compassion, patience, and professionalism was disappointing. Traveling can already be stressful when a loved one has medical needs. A little kindness would have gone a long way. Thankfully, one unpleasant employee doesn't represent everyone at Southwest, but hopefully we won't cross paths again.

My main "put off" was the old, dirty, worn, "ridden hard and put away wet" planes that we had... especially he ROC to CLT flight. I used the restroom and couldn't believe how gross it was. Parts of the trim were peeling off, just looked overly used and icky. American's planes were like night and day from the crisp, new and flashy Delta planes we had on our flights to Rochester. Then there's the technology or lack there of. Delta had fancy touch screens in each headrest allowing you to watch movies, play games, etc. American Airlines did have free entertainment that you had to access through your phone/tablet but there was an issue with trying to get it. On our last flight, the guy sitting next to me helped me get to the entertainment but after that, HE kept getting kicked off his. He kept trying the entire flight and got so frustrated, he quit trying. (I felt bad bc he helped me and I was able to watch a movie and there he was, struggling the whole time.) I got kicked off once but was able to get back on but it was still annoying. Never had issues with Delta. AA had fold out phone/tablet holders and usb charging ports on our second flight. Meh. No refreshments. Wow. I know airlines are getting stingier and stingier but holy moly! When waiting at the gate in Rochester, the gate attendant states over the loud speaker that they will not be serving any snacks/drinks on the flight and that if you wanted something, you needed to get it in the terminal to bring on the plane!! Whoa! The second flight did offer pretzels and a drink but honestly it was super off-putting to not offer anything on that first flight. I wasn't able to get e-tickets to have on my phone so we didn't have to worry about paper tickets. When I checked myself and my 4 year-old in the day prior, it offered digital tickets if you put in your email. So I put in my email for both me and my son... oh, they can't send them to the same email. So apparently, a 4 year-old needs their own email account to be able to get an e-ticket. SO STRANGE!!! Saw that there was an offer for airline credit in you give up your seat. Was tempting BUT I wasn't wanting to fly with them again anyways and we just wanted to get home. Flight attendants weren't overly friendly but they weren't terrible either. Checked bag cost us $30. All in all, American Airlines was completely different than our Delta experience. I won't seek out AA. We WILL be flying Delta again!!

Every single gate agent at the terminals was nasty and unhelpful. Particularly a woman named Shakira, whose hips probably lie like her mouth does. When my flight was rebooked, I asked if she could assign me a new seat she told me straight up to my face that she can't see the Dallas flight she only handles Houston ones. Strangely enough the only helpful woman there WAS able to look it up and even assigned me the seat in the same class I was in on my canceled flight. Shakira's little friend, who knows her name they all had their name tags covered, (I asked Shakira for her name) also treated me with disdain and like she had no time for me, in fact in the middle of our conversation (about my Dallas flight before the other lady stepped in to help) she started other tasks and once she finished those, WALKED AWAY. Walked AWAY. While I've been standing at the counter right in front of her face for at least 20 minutes. When I said to the other woman standing there that had already gone through 4 people behind me that she was helping me and just left... she said oh she must have forgot. She must have forgot? So she helped me and said woman returns she says to her... you forgot about her and she's like "yea she was talking about a voucher yadda yadda yadda" so you didn't like me inquiring about what every single other person is inquiring about when you cancel flights so you choose to ignore me and WALK AWAY?? Fast forward to this morning after having been up for 28 hours now, arrive to the airport to ANOTHER DELAYED FLIGHT. Supposed to leave at 825 now scheduled 905 meaning I will miss a chance for a flight I was first on the standby list for. I now will have a 10 hour layover in Phoenix because it's the best they could get me after the flight delays/cancelations. I said good morning to the gate agent do you know why this flight is delayed? Crew rest. Ok cool can you see if there are any flights out of Phoenix to Reno since I will miss the 10 am one? NO. She will not. Oh ok cool. Thanks for nothing American Airlines workers at IAH.

This airport is United Airlines' main hub. Not only that, the options for domestic and international flights are endless. I'd say that George Bush Intercontinental Airport has to be one of the busiest airports around due to the huge crowd of travelers going in and out. The airport was quite gigantic in general and took a bit of time to navigate between gates. There were a total of five passenger terminals (A, B, C, D, E). All of these terminals are connected and can be accessed with either the Skyway train or the Subway train. What stood out to me was the gorgeous, modern presentation of the atmosphere. I loved the installations of the decorative architectural ceiling as well as the colorful LED lights. The nice variety of dining was in abundance. Restaurants included options such as Agave Taqueria, Auntie Anne's, Bam Bam, Chick-Fil-A, Blaze Pizza, El Tiempo, Landry's Seafood, Panda Express, Peet's Coffee, Starbucks, Subway and so much more (the list goes on). In terms of relaxation, massage chairs, children's playing area, lounges, ablution and prayer room, sensory rooms, and Chapel were also available for travelers' use when convenient. As far as shopping, there were clothing stores, markets, designer stores, cosmetics, duty-free stores, etc. Overall, the George Bush Intercontinental Airport - IAH was a wonderful, yet busy airport to fly into. The airport is clean, has a pet restroom (never seen this before), multiple lounges, restaurants and stores. Two places stood out: Brookstone: For memorial day they had a "happy memorial day" flyer and giving free soda to active duty and veterans. I am personally not a fan of saying happy memorial day. Also, the day is not about celebrating current military. It's to remember those that have fallen. Anyways, thought it was unnecessary they were giving away soda and 40% off. We didn't participate. The blanket we purchased for the plane ride was super soft! Be relax: OMG! Those prices were insane. I didn't snap a photo bc the girl was hovering as I talked it through with my husband. I believe 15 minutes was $60. Smh! In relation to massages, if you are at IAH and near gate D5 (down a few gates from be relax,) , you can get a wonderful massage chair session. The chair was $5 for 15 minutes. It massaged your head, back, and legs. It was great after a 3 hour flight. I will use the airport again!
