This was my first time flying on Frontier Airlines and WOW! They truly are a "Whole Different Animal" They stay genuine to customer service, even in this ever so gouging airline industry. For starters, they offer a complimentary fresh warm chocolate chip cookie! Such a refreshing difference, especially when the top airlines are making you pay for the peanuts!! Here is my list of why Frontier Airlines is truly a Different Animal: In an effort to offer more room in the overhead bins, they will offer a FREE bag check at the desk. When possible you can upgrade to a more "leg room" seat for only 15 bucks!! Some airlines charge 40+ for this option!! The seating priority is very clear and makes sense! Upon take off, the stewardesses cracks funny jokes on intercom and make everyone feel comfortable! The stewardesses came around several times to refresh coffee and had cream and sugar handy! They offered FREE headsets to watch the TV shows that were conveniently in the front of your seat. They offer Direct TV to watch LIVE shows for only 6 bucks! Yea, on a 2+ hour flight totally worth every dollar! They gave a FREE preview of a TV show and it was awesome!! Didn't have to pay and it was a good 1 hour! They had a decent food selection with very reasonable prices; I ordered a continental breakfast of fruit, yogurt, and muffin for only 6 bucks! The flight itself was smooth and comfortable. At one point during my trip, I was seated on the wing (not my favorite spot) but it was nice to look out and see the cute polar bears looking at me... lol (check out my pic) The only downfall: Frontier Airlines is not affiliated with any other airlines, I have soooo many points accumulated with the big airlines, it would have been nice to roll the points I earned on this trip with one that I already have established. However, on the flip I do understand their passion to be the renegades of the industry norm...which sets them apart in a very positive way. Overall, I was truly impressed with the quality service Frontier Airlines delivered at such reasonable prices. As a result, I have now joined their Frequent Flyers club and was able to add my recent flight to my account! I look forward to flying with Frontier Airlines soon. read more

I have to admit im not a big fan of the discount airline model where you pay for everything but I recognize for some trips it may actually be a good value. I mean frontier charges for everything, check in bag, carry on bag, seat selection, soda, shoot im surprised they don't charge to use the bathroom. My tip for anyone flying on frontier is to really know what your needs are going to be for your trip. If your doing a quick day trip and you only have a backpack, then it may be a good deal but if your going on a day trip and you need to bring a carry-on then figure another 50 bucks added to the cost of the fare, which may make it more than southwest since southwest still offers 2 free bags. Bottom line, do your research and understand what every airline is willing to give you in terms of baggage and amenities. read more

My issue is, I called just to ask a specific question about seats. I worked my magic to actually get ahold of a human being after being on hold for 20 minutes and then was asked to placed on hold for another 45 minutes. I literally worked out and showered with my phone on speaker while they had me "on hold". I just hung up because I felt I like was just playing myself at this point. Well, here's another example of an airline that went from decent - to totally awful. My husband and I were flying from DTW to SNA. Our flight was listed on time the entire time we were at the airport...even after the flight was delayed. The reason I was told by a frontier employee that it was delayed was due to the flight coming in from Cancun and there possibly being drugs on the plane. The entire hour and ten minutes that the plane was being searched, there was still no notification of a delay from the airline. Fast forward to us finally boarding. Several passengers were asking about their connections. The stewardess couldn't answer any questions (isn't that your job?) Finally we arrive in Denver to connect. Over an hour late. There was obviously no attempt to make up the lost time. We ran from our gate to our connecting flight where yet another rude employee of Frontier shut the door in front of us and then told us it was too late...even though that flight was already 30 minutes behind schedule. We explained there were several people connecting and she didn't care. Even as they lined up behind us. She had closed to the door to yet another late departing flight. She directed us to the customer service desk. Then, yet another rude employee tells my husband and I that the next guaranteed flight was on 1/6. That was two days away. When I asked if Frontier would be paying for accommodations due to the circumstances I was told, "your flight was deplyed due to weather, so it's out of our hands." No it wasn't. It was certainly not deployed due to weather. I watched cops board that plane. That was a lie. A way to cover for the airline so they didn't have to reimburse their customers. 2 days in the airport? Really? How about a bottle of water maybe? Goodness. We settled for standby and luckily, since another flight was late, we managed to get home 6 hours later. I asked to speak to a manager during this whole ordeal and received a business card with a URL on it (see photo). This was actually the second business card I received as while on the first flight, none of the Direct TV's worked, which none of the passengers knew until AFTER they swiped their credit cards and who were then told by said rude stewardess that they would have to contact the URL on the card to receive a refund. This airline has now fallen into the gutter of Spirit airlines. Same same. You get what you pay for, which is basically to get treated like crap by their staff. Keep your business card and thanks for nothing. I will never fly Frontier again. There's no free bag, there's no free satellite and there's no customer service. So when you see that in reviews, it's either outdated or complete BS. read more

I get a email 1 week before my flight, that they decided to cancel all flights on 4th of July and reschedule my return flight to the 5th. Well that doesn't work, when you have a planned schedule. The seats are extremely thin and uncomfortable with one of the least legroom I've seen. The flights are scheduled so close to each other that there is no room for any error and therefore the flight are easily delayed. Including a soda, a carry on bag, checked bags, you even have to pay to choose your seat even if it's a bad seat way in the back. I've had numerous issues with Frontier flights and their customer service has never been any help. I honestly feel like it's a scam airline. They don't even give me my miles! I booked a flight from Den to Ca. I noticed you get charged for everything. First the flight, then your seat which is not included whatsoever with your flight so you must pay for a seat, then anything over 15lbs is considered baggage which you must pay for. Our flight was cancelled due to issues with the landing gear. We had the option to pay for transportation 100 miles away for a flight 10 hours later or wait two days for the next flight into our airport. They will only pay for 1 night in a hotel. They refused transportation costs to where they sent us. We had to wait in line two hours after the flight was cancelled and was told "that's all frontier will do." So big bucks for transportation to another airport or big bucks for an extra night at a hotel and two days of food and expenses. They sent us a voucher for $100 for a future flight that expires in 2 months. Frontier is the worst. They were rude and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and fly another airline. You will be better off in the end. By the way. We are almost an hour from the time they assigned us a new boarding pass and still don't know what hotel we are staying at. I fly Frontier almost every month or every other month with issues I've become accustomed to. Change of gates without being aware and it's all the way at gate 99 and it was gate 43. Or how the luggage takes a lifetime to get. But this trip takes the cake! Our flight was scheduled to get in to Denver from KC at 8:30pm. We arrived way early which everyone yelled in delight. But unfortunately DIA was hoppin and they didn't have a gate for us since we were so early. Well an hour and a half later we finally pulled into a gate! We didn't get to my daughters until 11pm. Mind you I had a 4 year old in tow. That was our layover to Santa Ana CA. Which was at 7:30am so we had to wake up at 5am. Well I had an all day layover in CA to go back to Denver after dropping my grandson off in CA. Just to first receive a notification that my flight was delayed an hour. Then one about an hour later that my flight was canceled! So recap I flew out in the morning had a 10 hour layover and head back the same day. So of course I did not bring ANYTHING to stay the night. So off to the store I went to get some cheap clothes that will not be washed before I wear them! . Then purchase all the toiletries and so on! Over $100 in crap I don't need. And then to top it off they have NO flights tomorrow and every other airline for one leg of my trip CA to CO was $300+!! So I swallowed the bullet. But here's the best one of all. As a frequent flier, there are three standout reasons why to avoid. Expect to be made to gate check your small carry-on luggage with no regard for its contents! (being told to claim them at baggage claim...its their policy) I experienced very poorly kept aircrafts . Customer service is awful... any request or concern is met with high levels of attitude without reason. I really mean angry people in each customer interaction. I had horrible customer service while checking in with bags...Boarding the plane and then when questioning their policy on luggage... I could go on and on, but I dont even want to waste your time and mine. Dont Fly Frontier!! They make your travel plans come "crashing down"!! I just had the most unbelievable customer service experience ever. Not only did I wait over 20 minutes on the line to check on a cancelled transaction, but airline rep. STACY pulled out her b---- card on me. I booked through Priceline and cancelled within the 24 hour window because I found a cheaper flight On U.S. Air (SLC - IND). A pending charge was sitting on my credit card for more than a week, so I contacted my bank to see what the problem was; my billing period is about to turn over, and I didn't want a several hundred dollar charge to come with it. The bank told me to contact the merchant, Priceline, to confirm an authorized cancellation. Naturally, Priceline told me to contact Frontier, because they were the actual "billing entity," not Priceline. So, Miss Stacy McAttitude with Frontier told me they can't cancel charges (?), only the bank can. Right, OK, but the bank told me to contact you. "Yes, the bank should contact us." I don't understand... "If the bank needs an authorized cancellation, then they will need to request information to be faxed over to them." Fax what? The bank told me that you are the one to cancel pending charges... "I'm not going to keep going over this with you." ARE YOU SERIOUS. So now, I'm still stuck with a large amount deducted from my available credit. It's not affecting my limit or card usage, but I remain responsible for a significant amount of money on my card. Even though I'm having trouble with the charge, I'm so thankful that I will not be flying this airline. Ever. I can't imagine what the customer reps are like in person. Note: Apparently, Frontier was experiencing a very high volume of calls when I was on the line. The rep sounded a bit frazzled from the beginning--she's probably had enough for the day. When I got to the counter, the employee had asked me if I was traveling alone to which I said I was. He then asked me if I wanted to be moved up in rows (from the 8th row to the 2nd row) and upgraded? Of course I did! I was pleasantly surprised because I wasn't expecting that offer. I was 45 minutes early to my flight from DEN to SAN and because the plane arrived earlier than scheduled, I get screwed because they can leave early. Lady at the desk was unaccommodating and particularly callous to my situation. I will never fly with them ever again. The flight was boarding 45 minutes before the scheduled departure, so I was not allowed on due to an early boarding. Great for people who showed up early, bad for people who showed up at the cut off limit. The best she could do for me is get me on a flight 2 DAYS later, and acted like she was doing me a service. Even if the plane is able to be boarded early, it should NEVER leave before the scheduled departure time. Not only was I not refunded but I had to purchase an emergency ticket with United for $300. I attempted to call the airline 20 minutes prior to the 45 minute cut off time, but was on hold for that entire period. As a business traveler I try to avoid the discount cattlecars/airlines like Southwest, however, I have found that Frontier has low prices, good customer service and some nice perks. For instance, while waiting in Denver our plane had to be taken out of service due to mechanical issues. The gate agent was very informative, keeping us updated as to the status of another plane and within an hour we were on another plane. In addition the flight attendents seem to enjoy their job and smile alot unlike the old bitty's on American. If you plan on flying them more than once, then sign up for their frequent flyer club. After only a couple round trips to Denver I was upgraded to the next level and now receive my Direct TV service for free. I'm eyeing the next level of frequent flyer-dom as I will get free cocktails!! Lastly, on my most recent trip I walked by the cockpit and it looked like the pilot was either wearing cowboy boots or those half boots with zippers up the side from the '70's. Any pilot with the brass pills to wear those is a-ok in my book. read more
