I had never been to frostys and wanted to try a new place for ice cream. I didn't love how you sit down and you feel like you are right on the main road. The customer service people were very quick and nice. I ordered a shark attack Sunday which was vanilla custard, blue dip, and shark gummies. All the sundaes they had there were original and one of a kind. I thought the sundae was good, but also something that was easily made. Once I ate all of the top stuff off it was just vanilla custard. I wouldn't go to frostys all the time, but I would be willing to try it again. read more

I love this ice cream place. It's super cute and close to home. Today I celebrated national ice cream day by getting a fruit loops arctic. That is frosty's version of a "blizzard." It was good and I felt it was the perfect mix of ice cream and cereal. The reasons I didn't rate this 5 stars is because they do not accept credit cards. I feel like this place is busy enough and has been here long enough to accept credit cards by now. And if they don't want to accept cards because of the small amounts that will be charged (like under $5) that's a joke because their prices are high in my opinion. I also didn't like that they don't have small sizes in the arctics. For example, I wanted a small today but they told me their small is a medium....so I was forced to buy a medium and only ate half of it. I have also had their twists with rainbow sprinkles. Be warned, get the baby size, which is like a small or medium. There is a lot of ice cream. I took a star off because I had asked for my ice cream in a dish and got it in a cone with no spoon, so I had to ask for a spoon. Frontseat's is an ice cream shop that lobbies every parent to let their kids sit in the front seat. Not always a good idea, but it is what it is. Frosty's on the other hand, is a second location of the very popular ice cream spot out on Broadway in Lancaster. It has similar limited summer hours, and is closed in winter, and is similarly a 4-star. The custard is nice and cheap, but it's nothing special. It tastes good, but isn't amazing. I'm a huge fan of custard, and some of the ones around here and especially in Rochester are miraculous. Frosty's isn't that. Also, at both locations, the employees completely messed up my order, but in both cases, gave me a fixed one and let me keep the messed up one. In this case it was a Coconut ice cream instead of vanilla custard. But honestly I didn't love the coconut at all. I love supporting family owned places, and considering how friendly the owner is here on Yelp, and that I've enjoyed the custard (4-ish but maybe more) each time I've been since I wrote the original review, they're getting bumped up to 5. I went there tonight and we spent $13.10 on 3 medium ice cream dishes and the serving size was big! We each got two scoops (medium) dish of ice cream. The variety of flavors, combinations, and products is amazing and overwhelming, which just means I will have to go back A LOT of times... I mean, I gotta try the froot loop arctic (like a DQ Blizzard) just to see what it's like! Prices are reasonable for specialty items and downright cheap for the regular hard ice cream- and portions are very generous. Also, the customer service has been great. I went yesterday and ordered a mint brownie arctic, which was delicious but did not have any chunks of brownie (it had gotten totally incorporated into the ice cream). I asked for some extra brownie pieces because I like a little more textural diversity to my ice cream, and the guy behind the counter gave me another whole brownie - for free! Might have the best ice cream cake around! So fresh and high quality. They assure me that the ice cream cakes never sit more than 2 days (as opposed to the grocery store ones that can sit for months). The delicious chocolate crunch bite layer is smothered in their hot fudge topping. They will decorate the top upon request. I prefer to stick with vanilla and chocolate, but he can do other flavors upon request/availability. Will definitely be returning for some soft serve as the weather finally gets nicer!
