    East Nasty and Chronic Bacon
    FoodFindsMe ..

Biscuits. Gravy. Fried chicken. Biscuit donuts = "bonuts". Southern hospitality. EVERYTHING ON POINT! There are so many biscuit spots in Nashville it was a toss up but I'm so glad we went here. The food hit the spot, the decor was fun, kitchshy and clean. They have a full cafe menu and the fruit tea was so refreshing. Avis who took our order was a SWEETHEART. She was so helpful in getting our order right, heard we had a birthday and comped our bonuts and more! She made sure on top of the East Nasty and Bonuts, that we order the chronic bacon which was the best bite of the day! Thank you Biscuit Love and Avis who made our weekend in Nashville extraaaaa memorable

Place was decent. I should've gone with my 1st mind which told me to order what they're aptly named after. My shrimp & grits was ok. Orange juice was decent. Biscuit is the star & chicken biscuit sandwich was the best things we had. My children were satisfied with their waffles & confetti whipped cream. Parking can be tricky but there's a space right in front. Make your decision before visiting because you'll have to place your order before sitting down.

I can't believe it has taken me this long to finally write a review for Biscuit Love. I've been eating here for more than a dozen years, and that should tell you just about everything you need to know. Their biscuits have consistently been among the best in Tennessee. And honestly, I'd put them up against just about anything across the entire South. They're light. They're fluffy. They're fresh. And they hit the mark every single time. Then there's the candy bacon. I'm not entirely sure what kind of magic is involved in making it, but I do know that it has become one of the things I look forward to every time I start planning another trip to Nashville. Some people plan their itinerary around museums and historic landmarks. I plan mine around biscuits and candy bacon. And I have no regrets. The eggs are fluffy and cooked perfectly, and in more than a dozen years of eating here, I honestly can't remember ever having anything that was subpar. Now, a little practical advice: be prepared to wait in line. But stay in line. This is not the time to see a long queue and decide that you'll just go somewhere else. The line is part of the experience, and the food is worth the wait. Nashville has no shortage of breakfast options, but Biscuit Love has earned its place as a must-stop. Five stars. After all these years, the biscuits are still among the best I've had anywhere. That kind of consistency is rare. And yes, the next time I'm planning a trip to Nashville, Biscuit Love will be on the list.

As one the most popular restaurants in all of Nashville, Biscuit Love epitomizes many things that make Nashville, well, Nashville. For starters, the city's natural party scene requires two things: fatty food and hangover remedies. Biscuit love serves both in one package, from buttery dishes to gravies that sooth that hangover better than any detox juice ever could. The second thing that firmly embeds Biscuit Love into its location is the biscuit. Coming to the south and not trying this phenomenal delicacy should be borderline illegal. And, Biscuit Love, perhaps, just perhaps, makes the best biscuits to be had out there. That is a dangerous thing to admit, but their unique texture of borderline croissant-ish layering of dough makes these biscuits dangerously delicate. They aren't those classic crumbly dry ones one many southerners are used to, but rather a revolution into what a biscuit should be. Lastly, Nashville's love for fried chicken and hot chicken is the other reason to come here. Well brined, perfectly crispy chicken at Biscuit Love is spectacular in every way that it should be and will wipe off that hangover from the face of the earth in minutes.

Stopped by Biscuit Love for breakfast on a recent trip to Nashville. When you arrive parking can be found on the street via paying the meter or in a parking garage. When you walk into the restaurant it has a laid back, urban, and southern comfort vibe. You'll place your order at the counter and then handed a number. Someone sat us once we were handed the number but it may just be open seating. We ordered the Bonuts (fried biscuit dough, tossed in sugar and topped with lemon mascarpone and served over blueberry compote). The bonuts were by far my favorite part of the meal, perfectly balanced and a must order. For our entree we split the East Nasty (buttermilk biscuit, topped with chicken tenders, buttermilk white cheddar cheese, bear creek sausage gravy and we added an egg). The biscuit was good but needed a little more gravy. I also used hot sauce as I wanted a bit more of a kick with my biscuit. If you are in the Nashville id definitely recommend stopping the for brunch.

Don't be intimidated by the line - the team has a great system in place and because you're ordering then being seated, food comes out quick and the line moves fast. Biscuits are delicious and flavorful. The lavender lemonade was a refreshing beverage. Our favorite dish was the b-roll. Having breakfast here is an awesome way to start your day in Nashville.

BEST biscuits I've ever tasted. Layers and layers of crispy biscuit almost croissant texture. If you're in Nashville, visit this gem! The protein granola bowl was super tasty and huge enough to share. Their chocolate & caramel lattes are perfect. The amazing staff is the cherry on top. Visited twice for breakfast. Ambiance is so quaint and fun at the same time. Street parking only.

A lot of people disagree with me based on the reviews but our experience wasn't great. Waited in line, it wasn't too long. A sign said 30 minutes from where we stood to order, but it wasn't quite that long in reality. The setup is awkward. the line going in blocks anyone trying to exit. There are signs telling you not to enter and block the exit but nobody paid that any heed. The line to the register is filled with shelves of things to purchase. When we got to the register I decided on a t-shirt in a great mustard color. It was pricy and I wished I would have waited as I wouldn't have purchased after. The ordering experience was fine, and we were seated after a moment. We were seated right next to a water dispensing station that was very active. I was anxious to get my first cup of coffee of the day but that wasn't in the cards. After flagging someone down (maybe a manager) and asking for our drinks, they still didn't show up. Our food arrived after about 10 minutes from the ask and still no beverages. After eating a little the coffee and tea finally showed up. I was over it, and asked for a go cup. Food was ok, I didn't care for the gravy but that is my thing, I usually am not a fan anywhere but thought that being a southern spot I thought it might be different. The potatoes under the egg were good, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I interacted with someone on the square site and added my comments , they were pleasant and refunded the drinks. I was so excited to go here based on my pre-trip research. Definitely a letdown.

Breakfast meeting. Touristy. Long line. Order @ counter then sit & wait. Food was just okay. Potatoes were borderline burnt. Omelette had a weird sauce? Probably wouldn't return.

I stopped by while attending a conference, and although they were busy, everything was running smoothly. From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly, welcoming, and efficient. The staff stayed attentive and made sure everyone was taken care of. I absolutely love the Bonut -- it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. Their fruit tea is refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. And the Princess is delicious as well! Everything tastes as good as it looks. Great experience overall. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Biscuit Love was another breakfast recommendation. A solid option if in the area. Got the Egg Plate with Two Eggs Over Easy, Bacon, Biscuit, and Cheese Grits. The eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon crispy, and the cheese grits had excellent flavor and weren't soupy or runny. I got it to go and it was missing that pat of butter on top. I feel that would have made it next level. I don't know if that's normal, but when I was stationed in the South I was taught this and it really was comfort food. They have their own style of biscuit and it's really good. Like a 9.5. I loved the jelly's. My gorgeous wife got the SEC and she loved it! The service was excellent and I would return if in the area.

Ask the Community - Biscuit Love: Gulch

Coming from out of town. Do the lines get long? Specifically on a Thursday morning?

It's fairly popular. I recommend ordering ahead if possible. The line stays full

Read a review that stated N0 Alcohol, so no Bloody Marys or Mimosas, but their menu states both are available, so what's the real deal with that?

Hi Ted! Thanks for your question! Alcoholic beverages are available at all of our Tennessee locations. (This question was posed for our Gulch location which is in Nashville.) However, our newest location in Birmingham, Alabama is awaiting our liquor…

    Is breakfast served all day?

Yes the menu is the same all day

Is there lard in the biscuits?

I am pretty sure it has lard or at least a proportion of lard and any other fat because not only can you taste it but the biscuits flakier and crusty, something that a lard can very well achieve over other fats

    Do you take reservations?

Hi Mari! We are fast casual and do not accept reservations or call-ahead seating. We take orders and seat guests on a first-come first served basis. To read more about planning your trip to see us, visit:…

Is it busy on Friday mornings? I've tried to go on weekend days and it's impossible to get in. My friend and I are going to try this Friday!

It's busy everyday because it's a popular stopping place in the gulch. Get there super early to still wait in line. You can also order ahead and pick up to go order to eat the food.

    Is there music on weekends?

    No live music

Can you get a brunch cocktail (bloody mary, mimosa) while waiting in line?

We can't serve you alcohol while you wait in line. Liquor laws prohibit us from doing so.

Does the restaurant do to-go order? Is that a long wait as well or is it pretty fast?

All online orders are to go. I would presume there's nothing against placing a to-go order in the store as well. I know that the sit-down meal comes out pretty darn quick and I would have to believe that the same thing goes for those who don't…

Will it be open for Labor Day Monday?

We are typically open on Labor Day. The only days we aren't open are Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and Easter.

Do they have bottomless mimosas option?

Great idea, but no they don't

    Is this restaurant dog friendly?

Hi Eleanor, dogs are very welcome in our outdoor patio (per Nashville restaurant health code laws) so weather permitting we love seeing dogs here!

Do they serve bottomless mimosas or is it that much for one?

They don't do bottomless mimosas unfortunately

Is there any kind of substitute for the sausage gravy like a plain country gravy that could be subbed in?

Hi Farah, we don’t have a plain gravy and the only other gravy we have is a tomato gravy.

Do they have sweet options like butter and honey with biscuit? Or apple butter with biscuit?

We have butter, honey (both regular and hot), usually two or three jams and we also have an apple butter we serve with our pork chops you're welcome to ask for!

Are there any substitutes for the meat?

Hi Ashley! While we don't have any meat substitutes, there are lots of menu options either are meatless or can be made without meat. Just ask the person at the register when you are ordering what the best options are and they will be happy to help!

Are dogs allowed? I have a registered Emotional Therapy Dog.

Service animals are allowed everywhere under the ADA. Emotional support/therapy/companion animals are not covered under ADA, so I would call Biscuit Love directly to ask.

    Are there gluten free options?

Biscuit Love is not a certified gluten free restaurant. Our biscuits are not gluten free. We cook everything from scratch in the same kitchen where thousands of biscuits are made daily, therefore while there are several menu items made with…

When is the beat time to visit biscuit love on Sunday.?

If you are looking to avoid a line, as soon as it opens

Are the Bonuts any good the next day? I want to order them to go before my flight out.

    Yes!! They are phenomenal

The bar has two hidden TVs that you can only see when you sit at the bar, which is such a cool touch. It keeps the space feeling upscale without sacrificing the ability to catch a game. The overall ambiance is great, and the music is always at the perfect volume for an easy conversation. The drinks have been consistently excellent. We've tried both cocktails and wine, and everything has been delicious. The wine is a little overpriced in our opinion, but it was so good that I'm glad we still ordered it! On our most recent visit, we started with the burrata. It was very good, but I do wish there had been more sauce and more cantaloupe. The sauce felt more like an accent than something that really tied the dish together. That said, the perfect bite was definitely the burrata with the prosciutto and cantaloupe! For our entrees, Jonathan ordered the pork chop, and I had the piri piri chicken. Both came with broccolini and patatas bravas. I was expecting traditional Spanish-style patatas bravas, so when whole baby potatoes showed up, I was initially a little disappointed. Don't let that fool you, though--these potatoes were incredible!!! Crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and packed with flavor! They ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal! My piri piri chicken was fantastic! The portion was much larger than I expected, and the piri piri sauce served on the side was absolutely lick-the-plate good. I found myself dipping the potatoes and broccolini in it because it was just that delicious. Piri piri isn't something you come across often in Nashville, and The Finch absolutely nails it--and at a really reasonable price. Jonathan's pork chop was cooked perfectly with great flavor. It wasn't an over-the-top, show-stopping dish, but for around $30--including both sides--at a more upscale restaurant, it's hard to beat the value. One more recommendation: get the volcano rock shrimp. We had it on a previous visit, and we still talk about it! It's easily one of our favorite dishes we've had here. The Finch has been consistently good every time we've visited, and that's what keeps bringing us back! Great food, great drinks, a fun atmosphere, and solid value for the quality. We'll definitely be back again!
