a glass of beer on a bar

By far one of my favorite places in fruita. Customers & staff are some of the friendliest people I have met. Great beers this is German Weiss beer now in December they have inside seating by bar then patio is closed and sealed up with outdoor heaters and this photo is in courtyard by gas fireplace

The Aspen Street Coffee Porter - yes, they made beer from the local coffee shops beans and it was fantastic!

Fruita needed a place like this. Welcoming to locals and tourists alike. I think of it as Fruita's living room. People come here to hang out, drink beer, socialize and enjoy life. The owners are very personable and are always there running the place. Dan is the Brewmeister and this man knows how to brew beer! Bring in your own food or order it delivered from many local restaurants, because they don't do food - they just do beer. Might as well do what you are good at, right? I come back every chance I get - you should check it out too!

This Is a gem right on Main St in Fruita. Excellent beer and the bartender was friendly and efficient / no other wait staff present and he took care of a crowded room (and patio) on a wonderful sunny afternoon. We ordered a flight- The IPA was great, but the Decapitation Red was a delightful brew that nudged it out for the growler fill. It's perfectly balanced. Amber, Rye pale and double IPA were solid. Great value and nice locale.

Board games built into tables and a chill atmosphere. Beer is awesome too. 18 road is the best IPA I've had in a while.

Great people, laid back rustic atmosphere, very good beer, board games and often live music. One of our favorite Fruita hangouts!

I don't even know how this is called bbq. Unfortunately this is yet another really bad restaurant in this location that seems to turnover. The space is huge and spacious yet feels empty. The beer itself is drinkable but very average. I had a flight and I wouldn't drink a pint of any of the four beers I tried. The nitro stout was flat with no head. I drank beer at the bar while I got food to go- which was the $30 meat platter. I don't like coleslaw or potato salad, which are the sides they make you get with your order. If you upgrade, you can get only one side... fries OR a salad. The bartender convinced me I would like the coleslaw and the potato salad because they were "different". The coleslaw- tasted like cold cabbage with a hint of cumin. Strange to taste no vinegar in a vinegar based slaw. The potato salad- who would've guessed? The lady that doesn't like potato salad unless it's warm German potato salad didn't like the bland, overly dill flavored, aioli based potato salad. The bartender said this was "east coast" potato salad. It's literally potato salad. The worst part? The meat!! None of it had any smokiness or flavor. I got it to go and they drizzled about 1/2 of a liquid ounce of sauce on each meat. The brisket tasted like someone put a brisket in a crockpot for 14 hours. It was dry and had no fat. The pork was the same- as if it was sitting in a slow cooker for hours but watery Mushy and flavorless. The chicken was a chicken thigh dried to heck. The portions? Each side is the size of a small dressing ramekin. Pro tip- go to Snooks Bottom BBQ in GJ. It is actual authentic BBQ. Rib city for some average bbq cheaper and better than this just a mile away. Better beer walk a block over. This here place doesn't serve any authentic style. Yikes....

My wife and I were passing through town for the night and just looking for somewhere near the Colorado National Monument to kill an hour. Handlebar Tap House turned out to be exactly what we needed. A lot of places claim to have a great beer selection, but end up pouring the same tired distribution kegs week after week. Not here. They run 24 rotating handles, and whoever is doing the ordering actually gives a damn about curating a balanced board. I was stoked to see they had a special local collaboration beer on tap called The Ocho. They brewed it up with the folks over at WestCo Brewing to celebrate their eighth anniversary, and it is a phenomenal, juicy IPA. The pour was absolutely spot on, complete with a perfect two-finger head that left thick lacing all the way down the glass. The hop profile was incredibly bold and fruit-forward. We were really only planning on grabbing that quick beer, but we caved and ordered the beer-battered cheese curds. I can be pretty picky about bar snacks, especially when trying to save room for a big meal later. Most of the time, fried cheese is just a heavy, greasy mess where the breading completely overwhelms the actual dairy. These were a massive surprise. The beer batter is light and super crisp, practically shattering right when you bite into it. It gives way to a perfect, hot, melty pull while somehow still keeping a bit of that authentic cheese curd squeak. We polished off the entire basket in minutes. The atmosphere hits that sweet spot between a lively local joint and a relaxed gastropub. The service was fast, which is crucial when you are watching the clock for dinner reservations, and the bartender actually knew the tap list inside and out. The whole vibe is completely unpretentious. It is just a proper pub doing exactly what it should. If our travels ever bring us back through Grand Junction, I will definitely be stopping in again.
