Out in LA, hitting a taco spot is a must, and with so many options I decided to try Avenue 26 and…read moreit definitely lived up to the hype. It was my first time here, so I wasn't sure where to go at first, but it's pretty easy to figure out. They have separate lines for tacos, burritos, and aguas frescas, which keeps everything organized and moving smoothly. I went straight for the tacos. I ordered two carne asada, one chorizo, and one al pastor. The condiment setup was also really good. Let me tell you, this hit the spot! I loved the grilled onions, serranos, hot sauce, and especially the curtido de habanero,so good. The carne asada was okay slightly on the tougher side but the chorizo and al pastor were really solid. Taco prices are fair, but the aguas frescas felt a bit on the expensive side. Overall, I'd definitely come back again.

Legit has become one of my fav Tacos Al Pastor spot…read more Mexi-Papa recommended the tacos de Tripita, gotta try it next time, I even stayed away from the Birria had just the Al Pastor. They have the Al Pastor trompo(spit) spinning all day. I got Al Pastor and tried them doraditos, they shave the meat and slightly sear it on the flat top. Parking sucks, and it is in the hood. But totally worth the drive if you are in the area. Place is in a corner parking lot, limited seating I got mine to go. Staff and person taking orders are used to the non-spanish crowd. Try them out dont let the language barrier hold you back.

Did a self guided taco tour for my last full day in California. It definitely did not disappoint…read moresince I am from the East coast where the reputation of taco food trucks is far inferior. The total time for my self guided taco tour was 2.5 hours (started at 12PM on a Tuesday and ended at 2:30. There was a minimal wait due to the time so the total tour may vary depending on the day.) Feel free to check out my profile for other taco truck recommendations! Quesabirria taco was goo. Very flavorful and fulfilling but not too overwhelming. Raw onions were a nice addition. Parking is difficult since it is located at the intersection of a Main Street and a residential street. Taco did not have a "wow" factor for me but I could see why the birria is popular here and I still recommend that you try it.

I delayed writing this review to really think through, and now I will confidently say--these are…read moreeasily the best tacos I've ever had. Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

Yummy Tijuana style tacos! We stopped by after leaving an event near DTLA. I've seen so many good…read morereviews of this place, I was excited to try after bookmarking it for awhile. We found easy street parking in the neighborhood on 41st Street, and waited in line for about 15-20 minutes. We ordered the asada tacos. They pre-sauce your tacos, which was fine by me, but my boyfriend who can't handle as much spice would've preferred it on the side (so warning for anyone similar! they do put a little habanero on them, so just ask them for salsa on the side). I think I ran into a problem of reading too many raving reviews -- these tacos were good but I was expecting them to be mind blowing, so I was a little disappointed. I tasted the charcoal char, but kind of wished the taste was more pronounced, or at least the meat more seasoned. The hand made tortillas were definitely the coolest part, but I thought they were a little dry too. The ladies whipping those out are artists though. Actually, all the workers here have the assembly line down to the tea, and they definitely add a little flare for a show. I particularly liked how they had a lot of seating at this location, instead of just a couple stools lying around like most taco trucks. It felt more like outdoor patio seating than a normal taco stand. They could probably take more time to wipe down tables more often though. Overall would visit again if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way for the tacos here.

Today I was driving North on San Pedro to run work errands, not even thinking of bbq. But then it hit me, the smell and smoke through my window and I turned left to see the pop-up! Corner of 15th & San Pedro, set up is across the street from the LA Face mart. If you get near by I am sure you will see it or smell it:) Swung by after my lunch time errands, excited to get me some briskets again. But not today... Only the ribs, hot links, chicken were available this day. No worries, went for the $10 hot links to try something different. The hot links were good, the inside texture was smooth, don't think I've had this kind before. It definitely has kick, and definitely need to eat with bread. For my weak taste buds, it was too spicy and it literally took a lot of sweat, but ate it all up since still addicting. Been about 10 mins since I cleaned up, but I am still kinda perspiring, lol. I think for me personally, the hot links is 3 stars, since I can't enjoy as much while pouring sweat from my head. But then I'm weak (I pour sweat eating the mild green salsa from King Taco for reference). If you can handle the heat, I think it would be a 4. Hot links seem like a good item to get for the $5 sandwich. But then not sure if you get that crack potato salad! Will be on the lookout next time to see if they have briskets.
