Haven't written a Yelp review in a while but this place is definitely worth it. Sampled a bit of everything. Very fairly priced. Location was by Home Depot on Westminster. Not a very nice area, but that's not what I came for. CLAM CHOWDER [5/5]: Delicious. Ingredients you could see! Way better than any store bought chowder. LOBSTER ROLL [5/5]: Bread was super buttery and seasoned well. Lobster wasn't overly seasoned. Exactly what you are looking for when you want a lobster roll. CALAMARI [5/5]: Topped with Parmesan and seasoning. I just don't know how they got such giant squid. Was perfectly springy too. Not overcooked. FISH & CHIPS [3/5]: Served 4 large pieces over fries. Fish was good and the batter was crispy, but was overall a bit too oily for me. So we ended up not eating a lot of the fried batter. Will probably be better after air frying. SERVICE [5/5]: Couldn't ask for more. They were nice! I will say the fries were a bit soggy but i did drive 12 minutes with them in closed box. So I can't really dock them for that. Overall I would highly recommend if you're craving calamari or a lobster roll! Will be back to try the rest! read more

One of the best lobster rolls that can be found in Orange County! Frutti Di Mare is an Italian term meaning "fruit of the sea" or seafood--and this endearing food truck certainly delivers on that seafront. ----The Food---- Lobster roll ($18)- MUST GET! Served on a generously buttered, toasted bun, this roll is packed with fresh, hot claw-heavy lobster meat! It's cooked well, without that nasty rubbery chew and is dressed to perfection! Most establishments rely on the dressing/sauce to enhance this dish, but at Frutti Di Mare, they allow for the lobster meat to the be the star of the meal. The meat will overflow from the roll itself, but the bread does maintain it's integrity despite it becoming soggy with time. Wedge of lemon and delicious fries are served to eat in conjunction with the roll that measures approximately 5-6 inches in length. Eat this quick or else the roll will lose it's crunchy, crispy texture that'll amplify each delectable bite. Ask to get the bun extra toasted! Clam Chowder ($4- Small)- JUST OKAY. My preference for clam chowder veers more towards the New England style--where the consistency is thick and every spoonful has large clams and potatoes. The clam chowder served on this truck is the exact opposite of that, where the soup base is thin and clams are sparing. The flavor doesn't disappoint, however, as it has an enjoyable peppery taste. Final bite: 4.5 Stars rounded up! While this food truck is parked on the entrance of a sketchy neighborhood, (corner of Westminster and La Pat Place street, adjacent to ACE Liquor Store), don't let that stop you from treating yourself! The menu is expansive and riddled with different seafood that is perfect during this glorious lent season. They aren't restricted to seafood fare though!--They also serve burgers and tacos that are definitely intriguing. Extra notes -Accepts credit card and cash -Practices safe COVID-19 protocols -You can order ahead, but I'd recommend you to order in person as you might run the risk of making your lobster rolls soggy if you wait too long. -Owned by a lovely Spanish speaking couple who are accommodating, kind, and considerate! They encouraged me to wait in the car and would call me when the order was ready since they did not want me to wait in the cold! -When the mechanic company is closed, you can park there. Otherwise, park on La Pat, but be mindful of homeless meth heads who walk without shoes and shirts. -No hand washing station or portable nearby -Closed on Mondays. The food is obviously frozen. The lobster claw, the fish, and the calamari tasted like defrosted rubber. The bread was soaked in butter. It was horrible. And it was way over priced!! It's a ripoff. I do not recommend it! read more

My fiancé and I had seen so many recommendations for this place and he loves seafood so he really wanted to try it, but I do not eat seafood so he was always hesitant as he was afraid there would not be many options for me. We saw that they had a special on Fridays for $10 fish and chips and my fiancé had been craving good fish and chips for a while so one Friday I looked into their menu to confirm that they had no seafood options for me (there were plenty) then suggested that we FINALLY check this place out. I ended up with the Carne Asada Fries which were delicious and it was such a huge portion for the price including a very generous helping of tasty carne asada. My fiancé ended up with the $10 fish and chips as expected and we were both pleasantly surprised with the amount of food he received. He had 4 large pieces of fish with a huge mound of fries. It was a fantastic portion size and while I did not try it myself, he said the quality was great and it absolutely hit the spot. In addition to delicious food, the staff were very quick and friendly. Their food truck stopped by our apartment complex for the night and we decided to stop down to check it out. My boyfriend is a huge fan of lobster rolls and lobster Mac n cheese, so it was nice to see a new truck here for us to try out. I wasn't looking for anything too heavy or greasy or oily, so I saw that they had a dinner special : Halibut over lemon garlic rice and green beans. AMAZING. The moment I opened the box, the presentation of how they packed the plate and the smell of it, I knew instantly it would be good. What really got me was there was even capers on the dish, which I have never seen any food truck use caper and serve full plate dinners like this place. Everything about the dish complimented each other and I now find myself craving it. I also tried the Mac N Cheese lobster and 10/10 would try again. This truck makes it where the Mac n cheese is actually Mac n cheese, not pasta with "some" cheese and lobster. They make their Mac n cheese with some spices and lobster bits, it's as good as the halibut plate I had. My boyfriend had the lobster roll and he complimented it very well. The fries with it, the lobster roll itself and the dish looked plain, but somehow everything was just flavored and seasoned perfectly where it didn't need anything additional. So, I've been wanting a Lobster Roll for so long, and was horribly disappointed with a little place down in Seal Beach .. so I looked on Yelp for Lobster Roll Near Me.. WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS right. And it led me to Frutti Di Mare. Don't freak out, it's a food truck.. I spoke with Francisco the owner and asked where he gets the seafood. He gets it at Pacific Seafood. It's super fresh. I can't wait to try more of the menu.. so, it's my birthday! So I decided to treat myself to a Lobster Roll! Wow. It was amazing. It was perfect, the roll was grilled to perfection. The Lobster meat was so tasty, and the butter. THAT'S how a lobster roll is done. Oh, and the Lobster is from Maine. The fries are good too. But the sandwich was just off the hook. This place is awesome! I'll start with my only complaint: I never know where they are parked and operating. The truck owner isn't consistent with his IG updates. Every time I've eaten with Frutti Di Mare it's been in Westminster (off of Westminster Blvd. & La Pat). I will say this, if I have to travel to another place to eat this trucks food, I would do it without reservation. Other than that, the food is pretty darn good. I am a creature of habit and I hate to deviate from things I like. I always order the clam chowder (feeds 2), the fried calamari, and the lobster rolls with fries. All of it is consistently amazing. The other great thing about this truck, is their prices. Me and my wife can eat well here for under $50.00. It's one of our favorite places to eat when we are in Orange County. This truck never disappoints! Good quality food for a fair price. You definitely get what you paid for. It's not your typical taco truck, although they still serve standard street tacos. However, what caught my attention was their seafood menu! Everything I've tried was amazing! -Calamari was nice, hot and crispy. I like that they serve it in strips rather than rings. -Fish and chips coated in a light crispy batter that wasn't full of oil when you bite into it. Served with coleslaw, seasoned fries that are addicting, and two dipping sauces: tarter sauce and vinegar sauce (wasn't a fan of the vinegar) but the tarter sauce was yummy! Next time, I'd ask for extra tarter sauce. -Soft shell crab Po Boy was huge! They definitely don't skimp of the soft shell crab. The saltiness of the crab and the sauce balanced out with the slaw and tomatoes. I would order again! In addition, the service here is always excellent. Salmon with capers, cilantro lime rice and green beans! I literally moaned with each bite! I can hardly believe I've lived in Westminster this long and hadn't tried their food. We have also had the fish and chips (legit, but the 2nd time I asked for cole slaw on the side, it gets warm if boxed together). Just go, you won't be disappointed! I want to try everything! Especially the lobster roll after the 3 star review, are you kidding me! Back to the salmon.
