I averted a completely unnecessary $3,000+ repair to my five-year-old Lennox system, and it had every evidence of a scam, so I reported this incident to the BBB. Frymire dispatched a tech, Zach L. , to diagnose why water - condensate from the evaporator coils - was leaking from the housing and puddling at its base. The tech seemed unqualified to diagnose the issue causing my problem. Either that or there was something crooked going on. -- First, upon arrival and initial examination, Zach asked who had installed the unit and why I didn't call them instead. This was an odd and inappropriate question. I have a service agreement with Frymire. Who cares who installed the system? It is warranted by Lennox. -- Second, he deduced that the only source of this water must be a crack in the condensate collection pan under the coils. He asked if we had any heavy construction in the house that might have jostled the unit. I am having a bathroom built in the adjacent room, but it involves only light tapping from the tile installers, not heavy pounding or any other actions that could possibly crack a pan. Zach never opened the upper panel to even visually check for evidence supporting his conclusion. I could not understand how a pan could crack on a relatively new system. Notice the pattern in other complaints about this company? It's always some other party's fault. Meanwhile, my poor remodeling contractor heard Zach make that statement and had to go in behind the unit and take pictures showing me that at least six inches separated the a/c from the wall. It was impossible that any of his activities in the adjacent room could have translated into the pan fracture. But Frymire didn't care. -- Third, he said I had to completely shut down cooling until the company could order a pan, which could only be secured quickly if you ordered a coil along with it. The cost was going to be about $2,500 plus $600+ for installation labor. I said just fix it. In my view this is a wholly unreliable company that could potentially be making thousands from these "misdiagnoses" every day. I was lucky to be home and watching or I would never have been the wiser. They could have insulated the pipe, solving the leak, then left without installing any of the equipment I paid for and took almost a week to arrive. Beware. The whole process stunk, and the company is either incredibly incompetent or complicit in a scheme to rob me of $3K. Addendum: After I published my review, Frymire decided to send me a bill after all. For maybe 50 cents worth of insulating tape they charged $239! And that's with an annual service contract! Absolutely shameless and obviously vindictive. And one more thing. Frymire has AI answering all customer calls now, even though AI can easily detect if it's an annual service contract holder trying to call. You have to repeatedly tell it "Representative! Representative! "Representative!" to get past the cutesy robot voice and speak with a real human. And, frankly, I found that the Frymire human usually can't provide any additional insight or job communication. It's always somebody else's department. We have used Frymire for about two years and we have always had good experiences. The technicians are on time and professional, and the work gets done promptly. We have had to replace portions of our plumbing due to corrosion in old copper pipes, and we have found Frymire's technicians to be competent and efficient in the work they provide. The services we have needed have unfortunately been costly, but for the quality and amount of work we have received, the prices make sense. We will be using them in the future for reliable service on repairs and maintenance. read more

I recently came across issues with Frymire due to a neighbor who had work done on leaking pipes. Unfortunately, due to the cul-de-sac layout, neighbor and I share my front yard getting to our own water meter (approximately a foot away from each other). During the project, the first problem; Frymire hired subcontractors that excavated the area causing a snap in the fiber optic wires, which then created an internet outage for me along with the surrounding homes. Took me over 2 weeks to get that fixed. Next, the second problem; my water bill started to rise suddenly after their project. I had contacted the manager Abe with Frymire, he then sent out a technician Vincente that worked on the project to do further inspections. After looking at the area for about 5 minutes, he came to the conclusion saying their work didn't cause my leak. Saying there is not thing they can do but can write up a quote that I will be liable for. My frustration with this situation is that everything was fine until this work had been done, now there is a leak that they do not want to take responsibility for. Clearly, there is no coincidence on my leaking pipes. For Frymire being "so professional", they do not want to take accountability for the causing issues. Vincente had said it wasn't them that had cut the fiber optic wires - it was their subcontractors. Correct, however, it is your subcontractors who are also representing Frymire. Then, I am being left with an unresolved issue with no given answers. Abe will not pick up my calls to discuss the situation and the neighbor is also not responding back at all. All of this during the holidays as well. I feel Frymire had just sent out a technician to say they did something but in reality, denying was their priority and feels like they just wanted another job opportunity. When I had spoken to Abe prior, he made me feel as if something is wrong, they would fix it. Now they're saying they caused nothing and do not want to be held liable. This is all very unprofessional. I would like to add, the have messed up my yard with their patch work. read more

Our experience this year, 3/9/26, with Frymire's plumbing department left us totally disappointed after being a loyal customer for 8 years. After a few minutes, the tech told us we would have to do several repairs even though each was minor and non-functional to use. We refused and asked him to do our annual flush of our tankless HWH as they had always done; he informed us it would be an additional cost over what we had already paid. He forged my signature on the invoices and left. We phoned in to tell the office and requested they make this situation right by resending a different technician out to do the original paid visit. While someone tried to reach us and we returned several calls to try to reach this person back at Frymire with no return email or phone call from Frymire. While our CH/AC service continues to be great, we assume the plumbing division is the opposite. Both will be in the same basket for renewal. read more

I was a monthly member but after several years I stopped. It's nice to use a company that is familiar with our plumbing and HVAC systems but every repair visit was $300-$600. Ever since they were bought by the investment company our impression is their marching orders are to replace not repair at 5-10x the cost. They wanted to replace a whole kitchen faucet that was leaky when all was needed was a small rubber washer replacement. They wanted to replace the coils on an HVAC system for $3,400 when another company said the leak was coming from a loose screw. They wanted to charge $1,350 to install Freon on another system. My experience with Frymire has been extremely unsatisfactory. I purchased a unit in 2023, and each year since then has been marked by significant and repeated service failures. In the first year, entry-level technicians failed to properly service the unit and attempted to charge me for parts that were covered under the EASE Program, causing the unit to be down for several days. In the second year, poor maintenance of the air filter--again, something explicitly covered under the EASE Program--resulted in the unit being down once more. Most recently, the unit was misdiagnosed on March 6, which directly led to the blower motor failing entirely. This issue was only correctly identified by another technician on March 21. I was told a work order would be sent to me for approval, yet I never received it. I was also informed that I would be contacted once the part arrived. As of April 3, I am still waiting for confirmation that the part has even come in. Given how unpredictable and extreme Texas weather can be, this level of delay and lack of urgency is unacceptable. Communication has been consistently poor. I have experienced long hold times, repeated promises of callbacks that were never fulfilled, and most recently was told by a representative that the operations manager was leaving for the day and would follow up on Monday. No effort was made to take my phone number or ensure any accountability or follow-through. At this point, I am not interested in another apology. What is most disappointing is that Frymire's actions fall far short of the company's own stated core values--Excellence, Innovation, Respect, and Integrity. There has been no excellence in workmanship, no respect for my time or comfort, no integrity in follow-through, and no ownership of mistakes. The promises outlined in those values have simply not translated into my experience as a customer. Overall, the repeated service failures, misdiagnoses, lack of accountability, and poor communication have made this a very disappointing experience. read more

Review updated to reflect an outstanding process of getting a new unit. It was discovered through the previous installation on our own different owner of this house that Frymires acquired partner oversize the unit leading to premature failure of some components. Leadership took accountability and significantly discounted my new unit to make it a win-win. Also, after the installation, it was discovered they did not turn on properly and install the multi stage functionality and therefore I got a very high AC bill. Again, leadership took initiative and control and wrote me a check for my entire electric bill. This team receives my full endorsement. read more

I paid $855,00 to fix the heating it worked for one day. I have had nothing but problems with poor service for years.

Their customer service is terrible. They messed up my (apparently, AI handles the service calls unless you specifically ask for a real person, which I did). The only reason I still use them is because I've been leasing the AC unit since 2021, and maintenance is free. The AC has had issues for years; I've lost count of how many services calls I've made. Every time a tech comes, they check everything, power the unit off and on, then say it's fine. Last week, I scheduled another service call--tech was supposed to arrive between 2-4 p.m. on 4/3 but showed up 90 minutes late without a courtesy call. When I called Frymire, customer service said the tech was on the way. Today, a tech was supposed to come between 10 a.m.-12 p.m. to replace the motor. At 1:47 p.m., no one had shown up, so I called again, only to be told there was no appointment scheduled for me in their system. Turns out a CS rep entered the wrong time and date. After speaking with the Service Manager, he arranged for a tech to come--and I'm still waiting. read more

I see Frymire is now owned by "Granite Comfort" a NY investment company. That might explain why the "family owned" Dallas company I had trusted and loved since 1993 is now deservedly (if not very graciously) given a 2.2 rating on Yelp. I gave them second and third chances but finally had to give up and find a new HVAC company that I could (hopefully?) trust. The details are far too numerous and involved to type here, but when you see that a "tech" they send to do an inspection lists their job as "sales" on LinkedIn and then leaves you with a laundry list of thousands of dollars of "suggested" repairs, you start to wonder what is going on. But then when "said tech" shows you a photo of (supposedly) your very dusty HVAC unit suggesting a cleaning (that I declined) and then the tech that comes out next doesn't even mention the dust and even says "it looked very clean" when you asked about it, you wonder if some of the techs (aka "sales folk") carry around stock photos of dusty HVAC units? Not sure how/why Frymire ended up selling out? I suspect someone either made a lot of money on that decision or perhaps the company was already in trouble and needed bailed out? Whatever the reason, it's VERY obvious that it's no longer the great, trusted company of years ago. Bye Bye, Fry! read more

After calling 15 companies, FrymireStrittmatter was the only one available to come out on a Sunday to check out our broken tankless hot water heater. The technician wasn't super familiar with our specific model but still managed to get us some hot water for the night and gave us an honest heads-up that it was likely to break again soon, recommending replacement. Unfortunately, it did break again that night, but Dustin came out the next day and completed a full replacement for us. After some adjustments to get the programming just right, the new unit has been working flawlessly. Huge thanks to FrymireStrittmatter for their responsiveness, professionalism, and quick turnaround--especially on a weekend! Highly recommend them. read more

DO NOT CALL Frymire!!!! They do a so called assessment and then start selling you parts that you don't need. I paid $225 for an AC condensate drain clean (but he didn't actually clean the drain). He also sold me a capacitor for $500 (which we actually didn't need). The next day the AC was frozen again and not cooling. The next tech claimed we needed a new blower motor ($380 more + another $85 assessment fee). I decided to wait and take a look at it myself. It turns out the drain pipe was backed up and preventing the AC to drain condensate properly. Plumber charged $225 to clear the drain pipe. Now the AC works as it should. Two different techs couldn't figure out the problem and scammed me for $810 and tried for another $380! That still wouldn't have solved the issue, so they probably would have suggested another new part. When I tried to get some compensation for a shitty service the owner wouldn't return my phone calls. If you like wasting money they can help you with that. read more

We had an appointment for air conditioning maintenance on Friday, June 28 for arrival between 12-2. We were also planning on using them to redo our duct work as they had for our neighbors. We received a reminder email the day before. My husband waited at home, and no one ever showed up. We have called twice now for someone to contact us and have received no response. My folks do a standard A/C check usually every other year and gave this company a try. They came out for free yet by the time they were done, She apparently needed 2,000$ worth of work as there was "air in the system." Now the blower was replaced 4 years ago and professionally installed. I witnessed them pull a vacuum on the unit back in 2015 and it held for an hour with no leaks so I was amazed to here there system was in such bad shape. She apparently needed to recharge the entire system, add a capacitor and a compressor saver plus 13 lbs of Freon @ 86.00$ each which came to the 1,987.00 bill. Luckily I was in the area, Mechanically Inclined and stopped by right AFTER he pitched the sale to my folks. I listen to his pitch, thanked them for there time and had another professional come out and GUESS WHAT, the system was checked and NOT A SINGLE THING WAS NEEDED. THE system is running just fine. In conclusion I highly recommend avoiding this company for any work on your A/C needs as they are selling parts and labor that is not needed. He called ahead, arrived on time, was very pleasant and very thorough in checking out our heater system for prep for the winter. He was extremely competent, careful, and comprehensive in his checkup and in documenting the visit. I have used Frymire since 2002 and generally have been pleased with their services, except during a period when they experienced financial distress and had to combine with other local service providers. From my perspective, they seem to be running a thorough operation in the HVAC side of the business. Nick was great and I give him 5 stars. read more

One visit they told me I needed to replace the units because they are old. The last straw was when I caught them not performing work I paid for. RUN....RUN...RUN AWAY as fast as you can from this company!!!! Frymire installed a new HVAC 2 years ago, and it has been nothing but horrific drama ever since. 29 days after install, water came pouring into my bathroom walls as a result of not cleaning the condensation line when they put it in. I also found out that I didn't actually need the $12K new system they told me I did, but only needed a $600 part...too late now! Fast forward to this year, when the draw of the HVAC blew a fuse, then the unit stopped working SIX TIMES in 7 months! They finally came and put a desperately needed second return in so the system would stop shutting down. Mind you, it took FIVE visits before anyone figured out what the problem was! They kept telling me it was fixed...over and over!!!!! It died AGAIN, and they so-called A-Team came out and ran everything from nose to tail...or so I was told. SIX WEEKS LATER, it DIED AGAIN!!! They said they needed to install a new thermostat before they could call GOODMAN and call the system a lemon! Today the new thermostat was installed and now the motor WON'T TURN OFF even though I turned the system off!!! They keep telling me they aren't able to replace the unit. I have been MORE THAN PATIENT suffering through unbearable heat, sweat and freezing cold because of their incompetence!! I had an electrical water heater problem and called this company (Frymire Home Services) for a quote. They sent a repair man and when I told him the problem, he said they would replace suspected parts (They would not do electrical testing to find out the exact bad part). I had bought my elements and thermostat already but the technician said if he uses my parts there will be no warranty on the repair (fair enough). He quoted me $1050 to replace two elements and the thermostats. I told him it takes less than one hour of work why so much? Answer, company pricing. I refused the repair but the guy charged me $79 for coming to my house (No diagnosing). Most companies come and give you a free estimate. I replaced the parts myself and even though I am not a handyman, it took me exactly one hour. Why a company charges $1050 for an hour of work is mind-boggling. They should call themselves Fryman Services, not Frymire. The technician was very professional and kind. read more

The salesperson at Frymire did an excellent job at selling me what ended up being the least reliable with any company I've ever worked with. In my ~900 sq ft home, my HVAC unit broke and Frymire came out and said it would take just a morning to replace. They replaced everything in January and when the Texas heat came, the AC didn't work. It took about a dozen visits from their staff and one full HVAC unit replacement to get everything to work. At the very end they had to call a second electrician and their master electrician to figure out how to get it all working. There were several nights that I had to sleep in Texas summer heat because Frymire "couldn't figure it out today, we'll be back." While it eventually all got fixed, they broke my shower rod in the process (and kindly replaced it), but they ignored all the damage done to my bathroom ceiling (there was lots of water produced in the unit that drips all along the ceiling's drywall). I reported it several times and was always told, "We'll route it internally and get you a call back." I never got a call back. Now four years later, it's 99º outside and instead of nice, cool air, I'm getting hot air. Then it completely turns off and have a wiring error. I am 0% surprised that my HVAC unit is no longer working only four years later and they are willing to come out and service it at their higher weekend rate of $189. The ceiling in my bathroom is still ruined and it is currently 80º inside of my home (and rising). That's my recommendation for Frymire. read more

They didn't give her a price and the technicians who came didn't tell her how much the project would be. They just started working. When they were finished, they did not show her any paperwork or e-documents to sign. They charged her almost $850 to replace the sink, disposal, and faucet. Mother provided the sink, disposal, and faucet. She called the manager twice and was offered to reimburse $100. This was back in October 2020 and to this day, 1/15/2021, she has not received a dime. This company sent out several people over the course of a few years, and they always found different issues with my HVAC, but NEVER the same issues! So it would cost me over $1k for what these people said needed to be done. One guy even told me my outside AC unit would probably not last through the summer, and that was two summers and a winter ago. They kept pushing the $15/mo. 'maintenance program'. They were nice enough and did the work I paid them to do, but I certainly don't trust them. Wow, where to begin... Our house has a Goodman 4ton 16seer 2 stage system. The system was installed by a company here in Dallas by the name of Conditioned Air, a company that was later bought out by Frymire Home Services. The tech who installed the system failed to register the system with Goodman, thereby nullifying the normal 10year warranty. Frymire was contacted after the system stopped cooling. Although they bought the entire customer list of Conditioned Air and seem to benefit from said information purchased pertaining to customers of said company, they informed me that they weren't able to warranty the installation mishap (understandable.) But, would indeed 'do us right' in honoring the warranty for parts to repair the condenser unit (the compressor was totally shot) at the cost of labor to install the compressor... $2225. This price came directly from their fearless leader, Ken. Ken apparently (according to him) owns a multimillion dollar company in Frymire and has spent a great deal of equity 'earning business' from the customers of companies he purchased. I wasn't born yesterday. I also know how to Google, call other companies, and compare costs via Angieslist... HomeAdvisor... etc. $2225 for labor to install a compressor (even though said compressor is 'free' is... stupidly overpriced.) This began conversations with Ken that ended up in a cancelled invoice and the need to report this company as disreputable and unworthy of business by anyone not looking to get ripped off or otherwise used to line the wallet of Ken. Ken attempted to charge me in labor what he would be losing on the product. Ken is smooth, a good talker, and undoubtedly the type that could sell ice to an Eskimo. Over the course of conversation, he spun a tale about liability to him for taking on a system like the one installed... the generosity of even offering to warranty the system... how charitable he was to even get the pride down to their 'club' rate of $1940. Ken is a scam artist... a good scam artist... but a scam artist. I undoubtedly know this man has made him money off these companies taking advantage of the weak minded, and tickling the ear enough till folks just write a check... not knowing they are overpaying. The entire outside condenser unit sales through multiple HVAC supply houses (locally and nationally) for roughly $1500. Let that sink in. Ken wanted me to pay $2225 to replace a piece of a unit that costs $1500. Now, I know you'll say "but installation." I contacted multiple companies (including several large recognizable ones and local yocales) and installation sat about where I expected $1000 to $1500. I could have the entire outside condenser installed for roughly $2500... and Ken thought it was logical good business to pay him $2225 to replace a single component of the unit... but the part was 'free.' In the end, Frymire lost my business, and after being told I would have to inform others of his disreputable practices, Ken accused me of "attempting blackmail" and that he could "charge whatever he wanted" and proceeded to show me exactly why he wasn't going to "earn my business." Ken and Frymire are disreputable, and you should avoid using them unless you just like lining the pockets of Ken. read more
