Great store with great prices, I just get overwhelmed sometimes with all the choices and never seem to know where to find what I'm looking for exactly. I'm sure if I went more often I would get a better feel but I'm only in Phoenix on business from time to time and never remember the layout when I come again. Overall though the selection can't be beat. It's the closest thing to one stop shopping I have found in Phoenix. The downside of that is it can be crazy busy so you need to be prepared for it when you go. Recently a Yelper indicated I needed to stop in at Tully's for coffee. I admit I have seen them in there and thought about it but generally was so overwhelmed by the size of the place that I pushed right past it. Next time, however, I plan on stopping at Tully's first to get a cup of inspiration before I push on through this giant market! read more

It is a Fry's so not much to say. Generally cleaner than average. Usually stocked sufficiently with advertised items. At least 1 of the stars off is because they have an extremely annoying habit of locking both of their side (read main) entrances hours before the store closes. When I inquired once about this, I got the whole "it's too bad theft causes us to do that" speech, but I was assured that the doors are never locked/blocked before 9:00pm. Of course, I have been there at 7:30 and found them locked, so that is not always true. How about relocating some shopping carts and hand baskets to the only unlocked entrance? Or how about keeping all entrances open until your business closes for the day. I understand that they are not the only grocery store that does this, but it strikes me that inconveniencing every single evening-time customer to (possibly) prevent some punks stealing beer once in a while is a poor way to prioritize. Also, do not shut down half or more of the self-checkout machines long before the store closes. A reason people use them is to not have to wait on a line. Your store closes at 11:00pm, therefore that is the time for shutting machines down and obstructing aisles with stocking pallets. Not during store hours. read more

Almost EVERY time we do an online order they claim they don't have a lot of the items. The time before last they said they didn't have ham, and about 10 other items. My husband went straight into the store and found ALL the items they said they were out of. This time they said they had no lemons and no Gatorade. Really? Lazy and unacceptable. If they don't get their act together I'm going somewhere else. read more

Service at this location is poor because of inadequate staffing. When long lines developed mid-day, I switched my weekly grocery shopping to early morning hours. More than once, I have approached the checkout counters between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. only to find NO CHECKOUT COUNTERS OPEN except for Self-Check, and then there was usually a crowd--some people with just a few items and others with overflowing carts. There is always one checker who offers to ring my items up, but the one time I tried that, she kept getting pulled away by those who were confused by self-scanning and needed help. Fry's seems determined to have customers use Self-Check, but it's simply not what most customers want and it always takes a LONG time to finish up and pay for your order. Today when I found this yet again, I just walked out and left my cart behind. read more

We use ClickList every week for our groceries, last week they forgot half of our order and when I called the manager Dylin was SO nice about it. He offered to deliver the groceries to my house and he took money off the order. He more than made up for it and that was definitely the best customer service I had ever received. Every time we pick up groceries the clicklist employees are very kind, I like this location much more than the one where we used to live. read more

Only come to this location if I am in the area. Not my favorite Fry's, however it works. Not impressed with the layout here. Hard to find specialty items. With that said, it's still Fry's! Does the job, and is better then the other grocery markets. Prices are competitive. read more

I keep trying to use these guys as my main monthly grocery store run because it is clean, has a wide variety of products, and is located nearby. BUT they continue to fail in their backing up of advertised products and pricing; and don't get me started on their digital coupon fiasco. My last and final trip here today had me huffing STRONG gasoline fumes in the dairy section while dodging rude and sketchy scanner people in the meat section, who were pushing around carts like they were on fire. Plus, I noticed they are now trying to push their 'sushi bar' offerings by moving it up front near the produce. Mistake, get rid of it. While I did like their gas savings program; I feel that they are trying to off-set that with their poor advertising tactics to get people in the door and spend more than they planned or were expecting. Something is not right. Winco has just garnered a new monthly customer. read more

Clean store that was recently remodeled. The staff there are helpfull and very nice i think its obe of the better grocery stores in surprise. Would be nice if they could expand on there bulk food section but other than that very good. read more

I'm granting 2 stars because I do appreciate how much is available at this location. The store is huge and has a wide selection. If not for its selection, it would receive 1 star from me. I base this rating off of a highly unpleasant encounter at the checkout. I was rung up by Autumn, who before I even got to the line seemed displeased to be there. Either way, that's no reason to treat others rudely. I witnessed her being short with and barking at the gentleman in front of me, who had been using some kind of coupon or food stamp to purchase baby food. Come my turn, I had an error with my member card number (I'd just moved here, but have had a Kroger member account for years, and had worked at my first trip to Fry's). Frustrated that my number didn't go through, Autumn huffed and puffed and asked, "Well did you push Alt ID?" in a way that insinuated I was incompetent. When I responded I had, she tried the same number on her computer. When I presented an out of area code phone number, she raised her voice at me, "This is Arizona!" Well, Autumn, excuse the hell out of me for not having an AZ telephone number. She begrudgingly handed over a new form for the membership along with my receipt before scooting me out for the next person in line. If any Fry's management is reading, I would highly suggest providing Autumn with some customer service skills training. She is reason enough for me to discontinue my business at your grocery store. read more

Worst frys in the area, never has anything stocked that's in their ads, like why have the sale in the ads but never have the items in the ad. Been here on many different occasions only because it's right next to my house, I guess I'll start driving to the Sundome frys where they always have everything stocked! I have no issue with this store in general, only issue is with the click list department. I placed my order at around 10 am for pick up for 4 - 5 pm today. I called at around 4:50 pm to later be told it'll be a few moments to get my order together. At around 5:30 my baby became irritated and I called the clock list department not once, but six times before I had to call the service desk number and be transferred over. When I did speak to the associate Dillion, he did let me know it would be a few more minutes for me to get my order so I cancelled my order altogether. This was my first time trying out click list and needless to say, it will most likely be my last. read more

I went to the store this morning and as soon as I entered I was 2 people (not together or in the same area) not wearing masks, one of them was being helped at the deli counter. I approached one of the employees and mentioned it and they said they would have to notify a manager. I went to the back of the store to get half and half and saw a group of 3 other people walking around with no mask on, so I went back to the front and I reported it to an employee who asked me to grab the manager that was standing behind me. I talked to her and she said that hourly employees are not allowed to talk to customers about masks but that now that she knew, she would address it. I continued shopping and as I walked around I saw another 4 people (not together) walking without masks on. I reported it to another employee and he basically blew me off. I went back to the front, left my groceries and advised Erika (the manager) that I would report the store to the Health Department and share in social media my experience because they are not doing anything about people with masks. A customer in line was quick to say "that's not true" but after spending over 25 minutes walking around and seeing that nobody approached any of these customers, I stand by me statement. I went to the Fry's on Greenway and Cotton and it was much better, although I advised the manager that the butcher was not wearing a mask. He addressed it and also told me that there is no policy that states that hourly employees cannot approach customers about masks (it could be that it varies by store, I suppose) but that they cannot enforce the mask policy and that this direction came from corporate. At the very least, the fact that employees are not reporting people to management and that they wait until customer's complain to them, tells me that they do not take COVID-19 protocols seriously. Part of the blame falls on Gov. Dug Ducey for not implementing a mask "mandate" and simply leaving a "strong recommendation" for people to wear masks. He call it a "hard ask". The implementation of a mandate would allow businesses to operate safely and enforce the mandate and remove customers who refuse to comply from their stores, while "saving face" in the eyes of the public. Ducey's political career is over anyway, I don't understand why he won't do the right thing. read more

Always a hassle for pick up. Always short items. Today I received an email they were out of five items including ground beef and soy sauce. Really? I called the toll free number, representative called the store and they miraculously have the items. She said she took care of it and sure enough, wentbto pick up the order and they gave me the story they were out of those items and did not substitute. Sitting in the parking lot 20 minutes now waiting for the order. Irritating. Moving on. read more

I was very irritated tonight at this location, they had two registers open and another with the light off that a employee with a red vest named Austin, I was standing in line for over 10 minutes and Austin had two customers in his line and his light was off the whole time looking like he was closed then customers kept going in his line and he was kicking anyone out so the whole time he was open and I could have gotten checked out 10 minutes early, my wife and I was upset, we were at the hospital all day and this guy couldn't have made it fair for everyone to know he was open the whole time, he should be fired read more

Being new to the area, I really like this grocery. Perhaps the best part is the gasoline discounts. I am able to get about 30 cents per gallon off typically on my weekly fill. As far as the store goes, great deli, great prices. Clean store. And always plenty of checkout help. read more

Their pharmacy is absolutely horrible. They gave me over 100 pills of the same prescription within a week, the outside drive-thru window ALWAYS closes 5-15 minutes early, and half of the staff in the pharmacy are just so rude and mean towards the customers! We've only have ever gone through Target Pharmacy but recently, within the past year, have had to change due to them no longer taking Blue Cross Blue Shield. Literally, stay away if you can from this Fry's Pharmacy and all Fry's Pharmacy's. I literally recommend Walgreens over this pathetic place. read more

You want honesty? Here it is. I would not go to this store if it weren't for some of the prices and the proximity to my home. The cashiers *may* be friendly - you never know. I usually end up listening to my cashier complain to the person bagging, about the previous customer or how many hours they have left in their shift. I've experienced complete transactions without making eye contact or more than a few words. More than a few times, I've had to trot back into the store and stand at the customer service desk, to ask my bread to be replaced. The baggers there seem to make it their goal to squash it. It's atrocious, it is crowded (which is good for local economy, but not my sanity), and the produce quality is usually sad. I once had an experience with the Customer Service, where they refused to sell do a $250 Western Union transaction without seeing my social security card - and were unable to produce a written store or Western Union policy to back this. I went across the street to Safeway, and had my transaction done within a few minutes. And I didn't have to show my SS card. I had it with me. It's the principle. Also, their gas station card scanners (for the discount) rarely work, so everyone stands in line. The last time I did that, I didn't even get the discount I had just earned in the store, and was out of patience to get back in line to ask for it. Fun stuff, man. The positives, and basically the reasons why this place gets any stars and why I still go every so often: Their prices are usually lower than my preferred store, Safeway. When they have really good sales, the items are in stock, like their recent 'buy 9 items, get $9 off'. Wish I could say that for every store. Their produce leaves something to be desired, but they do carry items like lemongrass stalks, or watercress, and those are usually in good shape. The deli snail service drives me insane, but they have tons of Boar's Head for a decent price. And it's only a mile away. Two stars for those things. If it were any further, I would not even go. read more

The only reason I give this store 2 stars is because I have yet to find lower prices on groceries. Other than that, everything about this store annoys me. From the complaining checkers, the 3 girls that are busy sharing facebook photos and talking about dates while attempting to check me out, the terrible produce selection (I now buy all my produce at Sprouts)... ugh. My biggest complaint is how my groceries are bagged. I admit, I can be a tad ocd about things but when I unload my groceries and find soap with my eggs, it is incredibly annnoying. This store also employs 3 or 4 people with handicaps, which is fine other than when I come through with $150 worth of groceries, I expect them to come home with me in the same manner I picked them from the shelves...unharmed. I always try to avoid those lines. There is one guy that talks the entire time instead of bagging and then people behind me have to wait longer because he's so slow. I know that might sound mean but if an employee (whether handicapped or not) can't keep up, move to a line with less groceries. I don't spend $500/mo at this store to hang out and be patient with their mostly inadequate employees. I was so angry when I got home the other week, I actually took $50 worth of groceries back to make my point. Not surprising though, they don't really give a crap. Maybe it's the manager change, I'm not sure. Like I said before, the only reason I don't go elsewhere is because I cannot afford the other stores. But hmmm... now that I think about it, it might be worth it to pay $20/mor a week to save me the hassle of dealing with this store. read more

I can't really say anything bad about this location at all. They provide great customer service, place is clean and organized and the produce is fresh. They have some really good deals sometimes! This week they have rockstars for $0.79 per can for every ten that you buy. That is a great deal. It seems to always be a really busy place. read more

The best supermarket in Surprise. They always have what I need and the people are always friendly. Newly added is four more express lanes, which means you can skip the long line of senior citizens/soccer moms and check yourself out. I'd skip on any wine or liquor purchases and hit that Total Wine or World Market. read more

I had to run and grab some items on my way tonight. I went to the deli and the lady working, Patricia was so rude to another customer. The customer was telling her what she wanted and Patricia said "you can't have that with what you wamt" and then just walked away. She came over to me and with an even bigger attitude she asks me, "what do you need ". I just got what I "needed" and left. The customer service, or there lack of, the attitude and her rudeness was really unbelievable. read more

This was my first time at a Fry's and I really loved it. This one had patio furniture and all kinds of things, kinda reminded me of Target on one side and the full grocery on the other. The cashier who checked me out was super nice, generous and polite. I had a coupon for a product which I wasn't able to use and she still gave me the dollar savings! Also when I was a few cents short of the payment (cause I didn't want to break a bigger bill) she let that slide too. I wish I remembered her name, cause she was awesome! read more

Horrible experience tonight!!! My wife and I came in for one item, the standard check out lines were packed and understaffed with cashiers so we went through the quick check out and our one item rang up at twice the price with our Frys card. We had to wait five minutes for an attendant to help us and correct the problem. She was extremely rude and treated us like we were the problem, not their system. We will be shopping at Safeway right across the street from now on. read more

Im typically a fan! However i tend to do self checkout because i ALWAYS get stuck bagging my own groceries if i dont do self checkout. I cant watch what your ringing up if im having to bag my own stuff. And it always seems as if there is a bagger just standing around talking/texting while i do it, and they tend to just disappear when its my turn.... i dont get this one! And yet managers stand there and just look at me while i bag... so frustrating. However last night was horrible! I ran in quickly to get 2 newspapers and seen the christmas stuff was on sale. I found a bag of candy and asked the gal if she could tell me how much it was. She rang it up and it was 3.99, i asked if it was on sale still and she tells me how am i supposed to know enter your card number then i can tell you. Really? I could not believe the attitude, i believe she was upset because I interupted her hugging on a guy who was visiting her while she was working... Sorry its called a job! read more

Good prices on meat and most food but I am so tired of buying "fresh" organic fruits and vegetables and having them mold in two days. I went grocery shopping on Friday and by Sunday I had fruit flies!! This is ridiculous and it's not the first time. Its every time. Strawberries go bad with in a day, cherries molding, oranges had mold its gross. read more
