1st. On April 4 I ordered archery stuff: a fletching jig, glue and vanes through Fred at FS Discount Archery. The order was confused with an order for a baseball bat (their other business). 2nd. April 12, I received the baseball bat. I called. Debbie replied, saying this happens often and asked me to FedEx the bat to its intended recipient, using my own FedEx account. Debbie said she would have FedEx re-route to me. Debbie says she would have $14 credited to my VISA account. Debbie says she can't give me a tracking number for the package with the stuff I bought. 3rd. April 17. Debbie calls to say FedEx delivered my archery stuff to Vanessa. That FedEx would pick up my archery stuff April 18 and deliver to me here. Today Debbie & Fred say shipment confusion never happens. I am wondering: why I had to use my own FedEx account to send the bat to its buyer in Virginia. [as an aside, why the *^%# didn't I just say NO?] Why I cannot get a tracking number for the box with my stuff. Why my stuff had to go to Virginia before it comes to me in Washington state & why FS Archery couldn't reship a package from Tustin to me here. Why Debbie should tell me that she has four telephone lines flashing while I'm talking to her. Whether my order would have been treated differently if the order total was for $1000 rather than just $55. How calling me with an apology gets my gear to me any faster. Where I'll be placing my next order for arrow shafts. Whether I'll be commending FS Discount Archery to my shooting friends. Why on April 12, Debbie says confusion of shipments was common and today she & Fred say it isn't. A check on the web shows a mixed record for FS Discount Archery. First of all, i just wanted to say that as a long standing archery enthusiast i was exited for a store to open in my area. As soon as i walked in though, the store itself left a lasting impression. There was a noticable reek, reminiscent of rotten eggs and fire, almost as if some rotten eggs were set on fire. Which turned out to be a right assumption, as there were two 10-13 year olds using a bow's string to light the wood of another bow on fire and burn some hardboiled, rotten eggs they had on them. They were quickly escorted out of the building by a young ... lets just say a young individual. He didn't look like he would like me to assume his gender so easily. After he had thrown out the kids, the young individual asked me if he could help me, so i told him what i wanted: a new composite bow for target practice. He recommended me a bow from a brand i've never heard from before, something along the lines of Hood Archery, and it was super cheap! Like, really really cheap for the type of bow i was looking at! Red flags left and right, but i didn't suspect much yet. I was hellbent on getting this bow but i also had this little voice in the back of my head thinking that it was too good to be true. I secretly checked reviews of this shady company and found out that they were a chinese company known to sell refurbished bows, so i was very lucky i wasn't buying something that was going to break after using it once or twice. I changed my mind and went for one of the more expensive mainstream options instead, so i picked it up and walked over to the counter. Wierdly enough, the counter wasn't so much as a register or even a table, it was more of a small wall-mounted rack with a bit of spare change. I gave him the bow, he checked the price tag and demanded my money. As he did, i noticed that there was a door to the back room with a computer and some elongated life-sized pillows with cartoon characters on them, also a computer that had obviously just been left to serve a costumer, presumably me, which would also explain why the young person didn't notice the kids. I was about to buy, when the person slipped on a rotten egg and dropped the bow. The latter was the least of my worries, because that's when the biggest shock of this year happened: This young degenerate gets up, and what in tarnation do i see ? Spaghetti falls out of his pockets. Disgusted by the sight, i told him to take his cartoon pillows and go back to watching cartoons. Angrily leaving the store, he shouted something after me along the lines of "his name is girito!" Disappointed, would sincerely have expected to be treated like a costumer, not like an addict. read more

I have done a few orders with FS ,from back to the 90s . Always a good price and in California . Not a huge selection just a few popular items . Not a large business with a group to answer phones . If you want a deal and don't need it in a hurry ( most archery suppliers aren't in a hurry ) its fine . I have been more than happy with anything they sent me . Thought i'd write a review to offset what's written previously. I'm not a review writer, but my experience with FS was overall good, so here it is: I just ordered a complete pieced together custom starter archery set for my little 8 y.o. girl. I'm a little experienced with archery but that was 30 years ago. Needless to say, things have changed...a lot. so where to start? I started by finding a bow she could pull back comfortably. That was the PSE Razorback Jr. she tried out at a local range. Nice bow, she drew it back proudly saying "Look Daddy"! Cute as hell....but I couldn't find one for sale at that 15lb draw on anyone's shelf. Searching the web I found the FS Archery site, selling a Greatree Firefox. The FS Archery assured me that the bow was every bit comparable to the PSE. But, he didn't have their 16lb draw on the shelf. So he suggested i try the 62" 20lb draw which would feel close to the shorter 15lb draw due to the longer bow. We bought it and the girl can pull it back. Moreover, she can grow into it. We bought arrows, a fletching jig which we applied the feathers to our own arrows. a dozen Gold Tip ultralight arrows. Put it all together and it shoots NICE!!!. We did call gold tip before ordering the arrows from FS, to ensure I got the right arrows. That person as well as Steve at FS pointed me to the best shaft to get for this light draw. The Gold Tip person schooled me on what to do and how to do it. Great rig to start her out right. My wife wants her to dance. Well, between recitals, we'll be hunting rabbits or whatever we can find! FYI. The FS people seem swamped and did mess my order up by not filling it when I placed it. The rep found the order started but not finished. He quickly corrected the issue by covering the 2-day shipment at the standard ground cost. I got the stuff and all is good. I was a toss up between 3 and 4 stars. Product is great. Service was overall good. Would have been great save the hold up which they corrected. Hence they get the 4 anyway. I'll order from them in the future. Forgot to mention. Great pricing. read more

No stars! I'm seriously beginning to think this company is a scam! I ordered from them on Sept 11th began to wonder where my bow case was and when I called, an answering service said the persons running the business was out of town on vacation....WTF?!! They called me on Oct 11th asking for more money for shipping. It's now Nov 2 and I still haven't received my order. They tell me they don't use tracking numbers for shipment. What company online doesn't provide shipping confirmation this day and age...? These guys. Not to mention, the guy on the phone was a sarcastic ass hole. If you want quality online archery products and services stick to any other company other than this one. When I order from 3Rivers, Cabelas, Lancaster, Amazon, Bass Pro, etc.....my orders come hastle free in 3 days to a week. Never again FSdiscount! read more

I just placed a order over $200. with F S Discount Archery. I ordered 4 dz arrows. Mine were right size an correct . The 3 dz Gold tip Lighting arrows I order for my kids bows were rated up to 45lb bows as their site post. Well when they got here it specifically says do not fire in bows over 35lbs on the shaft itself. So I called them to resolve the problem. They proceeded to tell they would be fine in my kids bows an they are shooting 43 lb, 42 lb bows. After I told him i would not take the chance of blowing up my kids bows. He Rudely say return them an we will refund your money an hangs up. Then my wife called and asked for a manager. Amazingly he was the only one in the office to talk to an not willing give his name. when we asked if they were going to pay for return shipping . They said after it gets here we will pay it. My wife asked how do I know thats true. His response was goodbye and hung up on her . 2 hang ups an going against Gold Tips Arrow recommendations. Show these people have no knowledge of archery or safety even for kids. In my opion only a dumb a$% would order from these IDIOTS!!!!!!! read more
