Had the pleasure to try Fu Shen out last night. It took us a couple of years to finally try this place and we loved it. Personally we didn't find the food too bland or greasy. I understand that people have their own taste and will be critical of how a place cooks, especially Chinese restaurants. I prefer somewhat bland to overly salty and MSG'd to the max. That was another thing that impressed me was no big MSG buzz. I also liked the ambiance here, it felt really laid back, non-intrusive and pretty quiet for being on busy and crazy Aurora. Jenny (chef's wife) took care of us nicely and she was very friendly. Now for the goodies Egg Flower Soup- Delicious (boring dish to order, but I was craving it and I was happy I did!) Hot & Sour Soup (hubby's)- He enjoyed it, and I got a taste, it was pretty good. Nice and vinegary. Salt & Pepper Calamari- Perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. Loved the bits of garlic, green onion and jalapeno! Yum! Honey Walnut Prawn- Delcious, tender and what honey walnut prawns should taste like. Yang Chow Fried Rice- My favorite, I grew up on this stuff, being part Cantonese! It was full of flavor and good!!!!! Lots of meat, and seafood. House Chow Mein w/ (handmade noodles)- Good! Loved the texture and chewiness of the handmade noodles! We felt it was worth the extra $2.50. It came with chicken, beef, and seafood. Sizzling Lamb platter- Hub's favorite! The lamb was so nice and tender, and the flavor was intense without compromising the flavor of the lamb. Overall the dinner was nice, and delicious. The price was also real reasonable, and we walked out with lots of leftovers! I know we'll be back for sure! read more

A great place, that deserves to be much busier than it is. They did a great renovation of the former House of Pizza & Pasta, and the space is very attractive and inviting. They're always glad to see us when I come in with my sweetie (she on her amiga scooter). The East Coast ribs are amazing and we recommend anything with prawns or other seafood, beef dishes. read more

My roommate found out about this place thanks to all you Yelp reviewers! We tried this place just today for lunch and while the outside of the place made me a little unsure, I really enjoyed it. We got there right as it opened (Sundays is noon) and greeted. The lady who sat us was very helpful to point out our combination options. We ordered and split the orange chicken and regular chicken chow mein. We also ordered some potstickers, which all of it was so good! The great part was we were also able to ask for our food to be w/o MSG. Everything came to $23 bucks and the fortune cookie was tasty too. I'd highly recommend giving it a shot! read more

FuShen was across the street from my hotel, and I read few reviews, so I decided to give it a shot.... I ordered the $9.95 Combination dinner... The waitress was very friendly and helpful...I was offered water and or hot tea. I opted for the water. The forst course to arrive was.... Hot and Sour Soup (definitely above average) Soon after I finished my soup the next two dishes arrived... House Special Chow Mein (Prawns, Squid, beef, BBQ pork, chicken and vegetables...very meaty...and the noodles were great!) Kung Pao Beef (crispy vegis...and lots of beef...) When I was finished eating the Chow Mein the last part of my meal arrived.... General Tso's Chicken (larger pieces of chicken than I have ever had in an order of General Tso's...but very tasty) Overall it was a good meal. $10.95 with tax. The portions were a bit small as compared to what I get back home in Lewis County...but I am not in Lewis County! :) Good food, good service and a good price. read more

This is my favorite chinese food restaurant in Seattle!! The food is excellent and the owners/workers are always super nice. My girlfriend doesn't really like chinese food, but this is the only place she will eat at for chinese food. I just wished they were still at their old Lake City location, but the food is still worth the drive to Aurora. 5 1/2 stars!! read more

We just got back from this place. The reviews have it all wrong. This place has some good attributes, but it is not a 3 star or better place. The Good: the noodles for the chow mein were had a wonderful texture, but the meal had little flavour. The beef and pork were cooked perfectly, but lacked spice (we ordered it spicy) . Large quantities of food. Service was good. The Bad: Th house special only had 2 shrimp pieces (overcooked), the squid was very overcooked. All the food lacked spice. It was all kinda bland. Finally, I ordered the combo meal, and they failed to deliver the soup course. I could have said something, of course, but did not because there was plenty of food on the plates which came very quickly. If you want good Chinese food, stick to the I-district. I would mention my favourite place in the I-district, but it is already way too crowded. read more

I know a lot of people are prone to hyperbole and exaggeration in writing Yelp reviews. Please accept my assurances that I am not attempting to do so in this review. This was, quite literally, the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The interior of the place is actually pretty nice. The waitstaff was, until the end, very helpful and friendly. The food was awful. My wife and I each ordered their combo dinners - so we had three dishes each. All were inedible. Imagine going to the worst Chinese place you would ever be willing to go to, boxing up your leftovers, and then leave them in the fridge until the day after it should be thrown out. Reheat. Serve. You have just re-created the Fushen Chinese Seafood Restaurant Experience. The Kung Bao beef was horrid. I will swear upon my mother's grave that it tasted just like they re-heated a tiny amount of pre-cooked beef from a few days ago, splashed on a dab of sauce from the jar in the fridge, and then took the pre-chopped broccoli stems and dunked them in boiling water for a minute. The chow mein had slices of what was quite obviously several-day-old BBQ pork that hadn't sold before they threw it into the chow mein pot. Dry as hell and tasted foul (and I'm normally a BBQ pork fan!). The noodles had that undefinable feel that noodles get when they've been microwaved. Both of those dishes arrived instantly - I was shocked at how fast they could cook it. Until I realized they hadn't cooked it. We just bought leftovers. The only thing they actually had to cook came out later - the chicken. I tried a bite. The sauce was actually pretty tasty and the meat was OK but the dough they wrapped it in trapped so much grease I would have rejected it in any case. Then, to put a cherry on top of the crap-sundae they served us: they charged full price for a meal we took less than 3 bites on. read more

Expensive! It blew me away how expensive the bill was at the end of the meal. 2 entrees came out to $26?? No way that's a good price for the portions. I got the mapo tofu and my friend got the garlic prawn. I was thinking maybe $18-20 would be reasonable. But I guess adding rice means another $5? That's ridiculous. $5 for some rice? C'mon now. The food was pretty average. A bit too salty and the portions didn't reflect the prices very well. I would've expected more for what I was paying. I won't come back here again. This place sells Americanized Chinese food - battered food with a nuclear red sauce. Yu Shan and Chiang's are a lot better in the food taste as well as the price. Sorry but I don't understand why the reviews for Fu Shen are so high. It must be from the MSG high! read more

So we go to Fu Shen the other night and can't believe that we waited this long to go here. We order the bbq pork chow mein with the homemade noodles, bbq pork egg fu young, bbq pork ma pou tofu (I know we were feeling very porky that day) and the honey walnut prawns (thank you very much fellow yelpers). This place is a gem, everything was just wonderful, I have so much leftovers because of how rich everything is and the amount they give you. But the honey walnut prawns just about made me go even more insane then I am right now. Going to work my way through most of the menu. Next I must try the boneless almond chicken, potsickers and the hot and sour soup. But I will have to make sure that the honey walnut prawns and the egg fu young are included as well. Best of all they serve wine and beer. read more

Horrible food. The place was completely empty at dinner time on a Saturday, despite it's location. That should have been a clue! The smell reminded me of the crappy Chinese food I ate back in the 80's in LYNNWOOD, which made me think I didn't like Chinese food. The taste was even worse. The food was old, though there were a few fresh vegetables thrown in there. It was oily, obviously old food reheated from at least a few days ago. Way too much grease and definitely not healthy. Even worse than that, we were charged full price for food we barely touched! The waitress kept repeating that she doesn't know what kind of flavor we want, hello, we want some kind of flavor and I'm paying for a restaurant meal. It should be fresh. Up until the food was brought out, the waitress was very nice and came out twice to refill our water. So we paid 25 bucks for water and a couple bites of crappy, salty, old food. Sigh. Do yourself a favor and head a few blocks north to Twins Garden. read more

it's on aurora, but don't let that stop you. you'll recognize it by the green awning out front. we love this place! my friend and i discovered it about a year ago and we've been regulars ever since. the staff is warm and friendly - attentive without being overbearing. they have a large menu selection, although we have a tendency to go back to ordering the same dishes over and over... everything we've tried has been tasty, fresh, and the portions are generous. this is our neighborhood place for consistently good chinese food and a pleasant dining experience. read more

The woman who single-handedly staffs the front of the restaurant is amazing. She greeted us, took or order and kept the food coming at a great pace. But above all, she was amazing with our 2 year old daughter. She brought over a kids chair right when we arrived. She was very conscientious of our toddler's peanut allergy, making sure that each dish was carefully prepared by the kitchen to avoid cross contamination. She thought to bring a plastic cup for my daughter instead of a glass one, she knew not to fill it all the way. She even offered and brought rice for her to snack on while we waited for the rest of our meal. Eating out with a toddler can be a nightmare, but all of these little thoughtful things made this one of the nicest dinners out in a while. The restaurant itself is nice enough. The location is pretty terrible, as it's right on a dodgy section of Aurora, but there is parking, so it didn't seem to effect the inside and the clientele were regular people & families. The food was simple and a little on the plain/bland side, but that may just be because they were trying to accommodate our daughter's peanut allergy, which can cut out some seasoning sometimes. But everything tasted fresh and the portions were huge, so we were all happy and had leftovers to take home. Great place for us! read more

My family has been going to this restaurant since they came to this country and it's been our go-to place for get togethers and parties. The food generally is great, but they are sort of limited in their vegetarian selection. But still, the staff is friendly, the food is incredibly good and you can have a small party there. read more

We went here on 7-22-16 . Had the Honey walnut shrimp or prawns was 7 out of 10. The Chicken Chow Mein was 1 out of 10 . Had no chicken and was super greasy. The mongolian Beef was 4 out of 10 if it had more beef and less grease it would be 7 out of 10. The grease KILLS all the food. My wife had who knows? it was greasy. The building out side looks like a crack house but the inside is older but clean and neat. The elder lady that served us was very nice and pleasant. OK so put some chicken in the Chicken Chow Mein and teach the cook how to COOK with LESS oil. Spruce up the outside a little and this could be an ok place. As it is right now I would not go back or suggest it. read more

Was excited to try this restaurant since it seemed that it was getting good reviews. Out of 5 dishes we ordered the vegetarian potstickers were unanimously liked. The General Tsaos was liked by one person. The other dishes, the chow mein with homemade noodles, chicken with cashew nuts and prawns with snow peas were plain and bland and all kind of tasted the same. I tried to ask specifically about the noodles and explained the kind I wanted and ended up with the homemade noodles which we didn't care for. The chicken with cashew nuts is mostly broccoli stems, chicken that has a weird flavor to it and its breaded. It also doesn't have that many cashews. The prawns with snow peas is primarily snow peas with about 10 prawns. I also thought it was weird they didn't have fortune cookies. I think it is the first chinese restaurant that I have come across that doesn't have fortune cookies. I would eat the potstickers again but really would t care about having any other food items. read more

Here we have another classic americanized chinese restaurant. They serve a barely passable version of chinese cuisine. I've stopped by Fu Shen on two occaisions. On the first visit, I ordered the General Tso's chicken, it was just okay, but the hot and sour soup was really weak. A good chinese restaurant, should never ever, screw up their hot and sour soup. On my next visit, I ordered a plate of Mongolian beef,(I knew better than to order the Hot and Sour soup) and I found the Mongolian beef to be very disappointing. This restaurant may not have the best ambience being right on Aurora Ave. next to used car dealerships, seedy hotels and a veterinary hospital, but they are the friendliest wait staff you will ever find. All in all we enjoyed our meal here. The soup and egg rolls were tasty but we felt the food, while fresh, seemed somewhat bland. Service was very good except that as the place became busier the one server was somewhat overwhelmed and we had to ask for our check after waiting quite awhile. This is really a great little unassuming place. They've got a great, varied menu.You'll see some standard Chinese restaurant fare, as well other, less familiar Asian dishes. For five of us, we ate 'family style', ordering several dishes and sharing. Everything was delicious and made to order. The overall experience was more 'home cooked' than restaurant fare. It was really, very good food, at a good value, with great service. The owner, a very nice, friendly Vietnamese woman, waited on us. I'll be back. read more
