The inside is cute and has lots of tables. The prices for the portion size were also really affordable. Everything we ordered was good. I've been ill and was craving some Tom Kha soup. They were quick and the price was very reasonable. But the Tom Kha was missing the sweet salty balance. It was just salty. I had to add a bit of sugar. I felt like it was also missing some flavor from galangal and lime. It's all about taste for me and they definitely did not deliver. read more

This place is a hidden gem. The flavors are great, the portions are substantial! Unfortunately I can't speak to the service because we did doordash, but the delivery happened quick so I assume there were no problems at the restaurant. The spring rolls were soooo fresh, the tofu inside was still a bit warm, so it was obvious they weren't sitting around all day. And the peanut sauce, omg the peanut sauce!!! Amazing and a great size! The pad see ew was great. I love mine with carrots and broccoli do this was everything I wanted! Perfect bouncy noodles and flavors as well. We also got he Thai fried rice. When it said peppers I thought it was just bell peppers... there were also Thai chiliis, which was an amazing surprise because we LOVE spice!! It was such a great rice! But heads up to people to don't do spice lol. We also got the crispy garlic chicken, this one was a bit of a smaller portion but it was soooo good and still crunchy after delivery. Smile Thai is one of those places that I always default to when I can't decide on what to eat but want something that is close by, tastes great, and is cost-effective. Most of the entrees are $10 which is cheaper but the portions are also a little smaller than other places. I've been here many times and my favorite is the pineapple fried rice, but the pad see ew and the pad kee mao are good too. Just a note that the curries don't come with rice so you'll have to order it separately or make your own at home. There is some seating inside but I rarely see people dine in; most people just order take out or pick up to go. This is a small business I love to support! read more

I'll start with the good because this is my favorite Thai restaurant in a five mile radius, and I am a regular here. The food is consistently delicious with a great amount of food for what you pay. I've had most of their curries and rolls and I have never once been disappointed. The things I don't like are minor, but do add up leaving me to not put these as a five star. I usually get the yellow curry with tofu and while I would eat this for every meal if I could, I always order a 0 star and it is realistically between a 1 and 2 star rating for spice. So for my spice haters, avoid the curry. Next, I always do take out and whenever I pick up, no one is sitting in restaurant. It's also 50/50 if I go in I'll actually have someone at the front hand me my food - I usually just grab my order and go (which, if I was not paying attention, I could always grab the wrong order messing up my own dinner and someone else's). Finally, I have found a shrimp in my tofu curry which I know could be a big deal for other people with seafood allergies or dietary preferences. Not a big deal for me but good to note that if you have a strong need to avoid seafood, probably avoid the curries. Again, overall love this place and love its food, but only for take out. read more

I actually wouldn't have found this place if it wasn't for yelp and seeing the great reviews I had to try it. We ordered the pad Kee mao with chicken. For $10, you actually get a good portion. It's hard to find a meal for $10 or less these days so that was a plus. The pad Kee mao was flavorful, it was filled with veggies and chicken. Overall a solid dish. There seem to only be 1 person working the restaurant so the service is not that great. We had to ring the bell several times and yell for service before getting some help. They turned out to be take-out only but I'm so glad we got food here!! Mostly seems like they do take out. We have had nearly everything on the menu and it is all pretty good. The crispy garlic chicken, pad see ew and fried tofu are pretty good. We typically have a short wait when we get over there for takeout. The location is great and there is lots of street parking around. I was cat sitting for a friend and Smile Thai was around the corner from her apartment. I got lunch to go and was pleased with what I got: Thai sausage lunch combo with rice and pad Thai. I was surprised with the amount of food you get, it's like 3 huge sausages and pad Thai PLUS rice. I wouldn't have ordered the fresh roll if I had known it came with all that, but the fresh roll was also really good. I just wish it had come with some dipping sauce or something. The sausage was very flavorful and the taste of lemongrass was nice; something you don't get in most sausages. The pad Thai was a tad too sweet for my taste, but still good. Loved this place when it was Krittika's, and love it still as Smile Thai. I'm not sure what led to the name change as the menu has stayed the same, but I'll be a regular here forever since the food is so stellar! Smile Thai is the "default" in our household when we can't decide, and we can never pass on the Thai Sausage, as it's PERFECT. It seems steep but it's worth every penny. Honestly, I think it's ruined non-Thai/Lao sausages for me--it's just no contest. We also love their fresh rolls, and that they're so generous with the amount of peanut sauce. Apart from the sausages, my entree order rotates from these 3: Eggplant (DELICIOUS), Rama Noodle & Guay Tiew Krua Kai. With the pandemic, I've been coming here at least once a week for their lunch special (spring/fresh roll, pad thai & your choice of entrees). It always lasts me two meals is a no brainer! read more

This place has been an absolute pleasant find. Their red curry has the best complimentary items. The bamboo shoots are so delicious and they are one of the very few places I'm aware of that has them in their curry. And then there's sliced cucumbers that lightly cuts into the coconut flavor of the curry just a tad so you aren't overwhelmed by the coconut taste. What I really like most about this dish is that I can use this as separate servings. A bowl of rices and picking at the various items in the curry for one meal. Since theres usually an abundance of curry broth left, I usually add rice to absorb over night and it becomes a great next rice meal to eat with eggs, sausage, pretty much whatever you usually pair your rice with. I picked up lunch from here and it was amazing! I got a thai iced tea and a lunch combo. I chose red curry for my lunch combo and it came with white rice, pad thai and 2 spring rolls, so much food! I asked for the red curry at the highest spice level and it had a light kick, I also have a high spice tolerance, so it might be spicier for others, I'm not sure. So good! Love this place! It's more of a takeout place, not a place to dine in. Tables are typically filled with Doordash drivers. Not even sure they have dine-in like Krittakas. But food is a major upgrade from Krittikas. Note, take out usually takes twice as long as the 15 min they always quote. lol, not a big deal, just plan ahead. Egg rolls always crispy and fresh. Rice is delish and all curry dishes flavorful. A big benefit to the Latona Ave food options! This place was so good! We got the wonton soup, pad Thai, garlic crispy chicken, and phanang curry. Everything was amazing. Like zero complaints from my "always has something to say" husband and my super picky 4 year old. The kiddo devoured the noodles that were for the soup and ate the peanut sauce and rice which is a usually a miss. My husband ate everything, talking about how good everything was every time he finished a bite. I was like I know, stop talking about it and eat! The portion sizes were perfect for us. They were generous, they weren't HUGE like, hey here's a bunch of food to make up for the fact is not that great of food. I felt it was a perfect price point and over expectations for quality. We're going back tonight because the kiddo needs more of those "yummy noodles" We're also staying in lake city as we had a home fire and this is where our temporary housing is. An employee swore up and down this place was amazing even with only having a few Yelp reviews we went for it. But the flavor is great and the price is unheard of for Seattle ($10 per entree?!) especially for the amount of food they provide. Takeout service is prompt and easy to pickup. Local favorite and a must-have. The prices are not just reasonable, they bring me back to a time when Seattle was an affordable city. $10 for a big plate of fried rice, perfectly cooked veggies and pork? $20 for large portions of rice and noodles? This is the kind of restaurant where you dont want any leftovers, youd rather go into a coma from eating too much. But then again the leftovers are great. Try the spring roll and ask for hot sauce or sriracha as well as peanut sauce. Surprisingly filling, and the tofu is better than you can usually find elsewhere. I live a few blocks away from here and would come once a week! The owner is very friendly and cooks some of the best Thai dishes in the city. The price is super affordable and the quantity is large. The entrees all have great flavor and remind me of my time in Thailand. This ain't no fusion food, this is the real deal. The only not so great thing I have to mention is that they don't always open on time, but we're only talking about 10-15 minutes late at most. It's the pandemic ya know?
