I'd heard about Fuji & Vi's years ago but never got around to visiting since it's a bit of a drive. We happened to be in the area recently and decided to finally stop by. If you're visiting with a stroller, I'd recommend leaving it behind if possible. There are no elevators and while ADA-accessible ramps are available, they were somewhat out of the way. The walkways are also very narrow, with tables from neighboring eateries further limiting the space. The restaurant itself is quite small, with only three indoor tables that seat four people each, no outdoor seating available. Since all the tables were occupied, we opted for takeout. When we arrived, no one was at the counter so we had to ring the bell to get assistance. The Detroit-style pizza was delicious and definitely lived up to expectations. The crust was perfectly crispy, and the pizza had great flavor overall. My only major complaint was the temperature inside the restaurant. The thermostat was showing 87 degrees, and it felt very warm. Standing inside for just a few minutes while ordering was uncomfortable so I can't imagine dining in and enjoying a hot pizza in those conditions. Despite the heat and limited seating, the pizza itself was delicious and worth trying if you're in the area.

Yummy Detroit style pizzas with a great weeknight pizza deal (buy one get one 50%). Fed my little family of 3 and even had a couple slices for lunch the next day. Great flavor and good amount of toppings/cheese. The lady at the front was so nice. One warning though, the salads come pretty dressed so don't order it and then drive home with one hour traffic because they will be supremely soggy. I should have asked for dressing on the side.

We ordered the double pepperoni pizza. It was amazing. What a surprise. The Detroit style lives on. The crust was crispy all around. The ingredients were super high quality. The sauce was perfectly tangy. The cheese was oozy and had the pull we all love on a pizza. We enjoyed the meal to the last bite. The shop was small and hidden but was soooo busy. There was a consistent flow of foot traffic's for being on the 2nd floor. Friday night to go orders were many and a few diners. The place does not have a restroom so maybe others knew better. It was a great place for a quick yummy bite. The service was delightful and sweet. It only took 15 minutes for a 4 squared pizza. We will definitely be back for more!

Ordered a couple of pizzas and some cheese sticks for an easy dinner after work and was pleasantly surprised since it was my first time trying Fuji & Vi's. I loved the BBQ chicken pizza a lot, it had great flavor, but I'm a weirdo that doesn't love a lot of sauce on pizza and the default here is a bit too much for me. The crust has a great crisp and the pizzas are cooked well. I'm glad they added cheese sticks to the lineup although this was a while ago and they only had the basic with Italian seasoning--menu says they have specialty ones now and I'ma have to try those out. It's located upstairs above Hummus Labs on Colorado, nice and convenient location!

I have been wanting to try this Asian family owned Detroit style pizza joint for some time, as it has always had a lot of hype around it. Unfortunately, it proved to not really be for my tastes. I will mention, as maybe this was an issue, that the day I chose to go was of course the odd day where they had some sort of "emergency" and didn't open their doors until hours after usual, so maybe their game was off. Located in a small Pasadena strip mall, the parking is on the side street and goes up to the second floor, which is where the pizza place is located anyway along with an Indian restaurant and a couple more businesses. The place is incredibly tiny, clearly meant for take out and not at all for dine in. There are three 4-people tables total and no bathrooms for customers. Went right when they opened and got a large Caesar salad, which was pretty good. The problem were the two four square pizzas. And the biggest trouble was the sauce, which is way too sweet in my opinion. I got the plain cheese and one with black olives and Italian sausage, which was more generous with the olives than the spare sausage. I didn't think it was anything special. Then again, I have been to the main places in Detroit and not been wowed there either. Still, this wasn't as good as other Detroit pizzas I've tried, so unfortunately I can't recommend it from my experience.

Really amazing food! This is located upstairs at the corner of Colorado and Mentor, in what I like to call the restaurant corner (seriously, there are a ton of small Mom and Pop restaurants in that corner that you all should go check out!). So, I was impressed by the reviews and wanted something different to eat. It was my first time there and the employee behind the counter was just so nice and patient as he explained everything! I ended up getting the 4-slice pepperoni and a small Greek salad. Now, listen...their 'small' salad is rather big! Like it can easily feed 2-3 people. And the pizza 4-slice can easily feed 2-3. So you need to be aware of that. There was a little wait but everything came out amazing! The pizza was prepared just right and the salad was so delicious! I would literally go back for the salad alone. Now they're located upstairs so wheelchair accessibility might be an issue, but it is so worth it! You won't be disappointed!

So, I was looking for something new and came across this pizza joint. Don't be fooled by their name, this place has probably one of the most delicious Detroit style pizza. Their 4 squares was more than what I had expected. 2 slices filled me up! Location is on the second floor, almost hidden but don't worry, to locate it, just walk west, towards lake st once you're upstairs, it's wrapped around the little brunch spot. You can actually miss it if you're not too familiar. Pizza. Astounding. Definitely fresh ingredients. Tastes like Detroit style. Massive amount of cheese but not too much where it's overpowering. The pepperoni were the right amount as they double up the layers, hence the name. The workers were quick to attend to our needs. Service was definitely what you'd expect for a restaurant. However , dining location indoors only is quite small, maybe about 3-4 tables with shut 4 seats to each. Overall, I would come back and try their other pies, we love pizza and this is our new favorite place to visit when we're in the area!

Another good time here. I'm a big fan of Detroit style pizza and this place did not disappoint. The player deluxe is always on point. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Hawaiian version. If you look at it, it didn't really look all the way ready. The ingredients needed just a little more sizzle. There wasn't much space inside. While we waited, there was no one inside and many people making deliveries. Then there was a surge. We ended up going. Service is nice. Lady is friendly.

(Would give 3.5 stars!) Tried this place because I am on the hunt for good Detroit style pizza! The BBQ chicken pizza was good, I loved the sauce but the chicken was a little dry. The double pepperoni pizza was also good, but I wish it was cooked more in the middle. Overall, solid spot. The best part is for sure the cheesy edges of the pizza. & they do have a good deal Tu/Wed/Thurs BOGO 50% for 4 square pizzas!

We went on a Sunday afternoon and service was prompt and friendly. They were able to do half half for us since we have kids who like just plain cheese. The employee also gave us great recommendations since it was our first time. The store is clean and bright and airy. Since it overlooks the street, the kids could watch the cars driving by from our seat by the window. The Greek salad was delicious and a great flavor - definitely worth ordering. The pizza came out deliciously hot and crispy on the outside. Their Detroit style pizza is filling! Parking here is great with a ramp up to a rooftop parking lot and there were plenty of spaces.

The lady who took my owner is this sweet japanese lady. I think she owns the place. She's very nice. I've never had detroit style pizza... and I really enjoyed their pizza. The dough is soft inside with crunchy sides & bottom. I love how they did not skimp on the toppings. If you've never had detroit style pizza... this is a good place to try them

This is the best pizza I've had in a long time. I love pizza so much to the point my hubby has to close my eyes when there is a commercial for pizza lol So when I say the cheese and sauce on this pizza is immaculate. They really took their time and perfected their craft, I'm super impressed and will definitely be ordering again. I ordered take out and it was still so hot and good. Next time I'm going in.

Fantastic pizza spot in Pasadena and the only place I know around here serving Detroit-style. The pizzas come out fresh with those cheesy, crispy crust corner pieces that are easily the best part. Recently, we ordered a bunch for a company lunch and it was a huge hit. The double pepperoni was especially popular, but everything we tried was solid. If you're a pizza lover, this spot is a must!

First time trying to Detroit style pizza and can't wait to go back! The pizza is like a hearty pan focaccia, crispy on the outside, fluffy and light inside. Toppings felt generous, sauce was delicious and those signature crispy edges where the cheese melts into the pan - perfection! We tried The Classic and added mushrooms. Very happy this place is in the neighborhood. Pick up is easy with parking up top behind the building. read more

I have been craving a good Detroit Style pizza and this didn't disappoint. The pizza was cooked perfectly and delivered on the iconic crispy edges. In true Detroit fashion the pizza is square and you can order 4 or 8 squares. The 4 square was enough to fill me up. We had the Vegan and Supreme. Both were great and I am looking forward to trying the Argument which is a great name for a pizza with pineapple on it. Keep in mind that they currently do not sell by the slice. Also they aren't listed on Google maps yet. The location is on the second floor next to Playa Del Carmen Seafood. read more

The pizza here is excellent. The crust is great. I'm generally not a fan of thick crust pizza--it's usually so chewy it's almost a chore to get through. But the crust here is light and crunchy and has a really good flavor. Toppings were also very flavorful. Very satisfying pizza. read more

Family owned business. The pizzas are made with love and are delicious! I'm not big on thick crusts, but their thick crust is done right! The grilled cheese on the edges is amazing!!! Both husband and wife are friendly and do their best to provide good service even though they are short staffed. Very happy to have them in the neighborhood! read more

Fuji & Vis is the best thing to happen near Caltech in years, culinarily speaking. Since I moved here from Chicago years ago, I had forgotten how much I missed deep-dish Detroit-style pizza pies. This place is amazing -- perfect crust, delicious ingredients. I am sure it will soon become a staple for nearby Caltech researchers, with pizzas named Argument and Contradiction that are sure to fit the mood for a heated discussion that hones in on the Truth. Apparently a lot of us heard about this place on the r/Pasadena subreddit. We ordered the Super Deluxe which had a bit of everything (veggie and meat-wise) and the Contradiction, which had chicken, jalapeños, pineapple, BBQ sauce, cilantro, and other good stuff. I closed my eyes in utter delirium at the phenomenal taste of the Super Deluxe. The sauce is a revelation and there was some amazing asparagus in there, I kid you not. The Contradiction was infuriatingly good because I am one of those BBQ chicken haters. Like really hate. This damn pizza was so good, I was mad at myself afterwards because I couldn't stop eating it. Almost forgot to mention the crust. It's literally crusty perfectly crispy cheese. I cried inside, it was so good. The owners are the absolute nicest people and the balcony is great if you want to enjoy the air and the view. Can't wait to come back. read more

This is by far the best Detroit pizza outside of Detroit the crust is perfect with a great chew we got the contradiction and it was the perfect amount of sweetness from the pineapple and bbq sauce and then the heat from the jalepeno. Saw some people on the Pasadena subreddit saying how great this place is and gave it a try - highly recommend! We got a four square bbq chicken pizza and it was definitely worth the price and perfect for two hungry people to split. The Detroit style pizza is amazing. The flavor of the cheese was nice and smooth. The bread crust was fresh and crispy. It was a good amount of red sauce not to overly done. The service was amazing. They asked if we liked everything. This is the kind of service that needs to be talked about and share with family and friends. The ambiance had a nice touch and made you feel like at home. A simple nice place to just go and relax with family and friends. You have to stop by and experience the food! Thank you Michael for a wonderful dinner and a remarkable evening. read more

Came here for a late dinner and got a 4 piece Contradiction. The combination of toppings was unusual but surprisingly tasty. The chicken added a meaty bite while the jalapeño added a kick that was balanced with the sweetness of the pineapple and bbq sauce while the smokiness of the bacon topped it all off. I would definitely recommend if you want to try an unusual combination of bbq chicken and Hawaiian pizza. read more

Wow! Thank you for bringing Detroit style pizza to Pasadena. Get the cheese. No frills just solid flavor in every bite. Crispy cheesy edges. Skimpy on the add ons. Ordered a 4 slice pepperoni and found one pepperoni on a slice. Not sure what that was about but willing to forgive them once because the simple cheese was good stuff. read more

Based on the reviews I saw online, I decided to try F&V's out. Ordered an 8 slice pepperoni over/under and a salad. Pizza was great, nice crisp crust and plenty of cheese as well. Really good Detroit-style pizza. Salad was good too. Pizza stayed well in the fridge for the 2nd day as well, used an air fryer to crisp up the crust again. Good parking behind the store as well. read more

This cozy restaurant has a small capacity, but don't let that stop you from enjoying their delicious pies. PARKING: There is a free parking lot in the back of the complex. The restaurant is located on the second floor next to Mon Cheri Boba. PIZZAS: I ordered four different pizzas: the Spicy Italian, Super Deluxe, BBQ Chicken, and the Classic. All of them were delicious, but my personal favorite was the Spicy Italian, which had a perfect blend of spicy and sweet. The added sweetness from the honey really elevated the flavor of the pizza. The 4SQ size is enough for 1 person. What's even more special about this place is that it's run by a lovely couple. They named the restaurant after the wife's mother, Fuji, and the husband's grandmother, Violet. It's heartwarming to see their dedication to their family history through the restaurant's name. The corner pieces were perfectly crunchy : that thick crust was the best part. The toppings were just as great. I fell in love. So years later every time I visited Paris a must do was to have my repeat love affair with the hot dog I ate at a food stand at the la Place et l'Esplanade du Trocadéro. (which has now changed names) I've never been able to duplicate the experience here in the States, except for homemade. The problem is finding just the right baguette, which is the secret to this hot dog. Not even throughout Paris at different hot dog stands do they use the right baguette or hotdog. The hot dog texture and taste can be slightly off as well as the mustard. However, when perfect the hot dog and mustard should be spicy. I was thrilled when I came across Point Eat and they serve a Czech hot dog in a stuffed baguette, and their picture confirmed it. Although it was invented in the 1970's in Denmark, it has found its way across Europe to France and Czech Republic among other countries. My hats off to Point Eat to getting closer to my love affair with this style of hot dog then I've been able to do at home. And, it's the only time I've seen it on a menu anywhere in the United States. The hot dog and mustard could be spicier, but I'm not complaining, because the one thing that is absolutely perfection is their baguette which is the real secret to the Fransk/French/Czech hot dog. I'll be back to try their other sandwiches which look great with their homemade Focaccia and definitely their hot dog. By the way their hot dog is huge, not your standard run of the mill hot dog. I you want a little taste of Paris, you know where to go. I wish I'd taken a picture, next time.

My friend & I had just eaten but I made a note to come back and give it a try. Their smash burgers receive rave reviews, but they also serve Grilled Cheese Smash, Fried Chicken Sando, Billionaire Bacon Burger, in addition to onion rings & fries. Soft drinks are available as well as craft beer from N&F's tap. The wooden patio area is cozy. You order at the walk-up window, and someone will bring your food to you. I just wanted a snack, so I ordered Onion Rings to go. At $5 it is a good deal. The onion rings were piping hot and smelled so good. I was bummed that there wasn't any ranch dressing in my bag. Oh well, I have some at home. The serving size was small - about 5 or 6 but I could tell they were house-made and they were yummy. *Street parking & lot in the back.
