We had an unexpected great time here. We needed somewhere to eat last minute and Fuji did not disappoint. The food was amazing! The sushi was fresh and delicious (according to my party). I had the Stir Fried Beef Udon and couldn't get enough - it was so good. All of us left happy and promising to return for more! Highly recommend!

Great environment for a date night or catch up with friends. Gives an intimate feel despite being a big restaurant in assembly. For food we ordered the hamachi nigiri, sweet potato roll, Philly roll, and secret to success special maki. All were very fresh. If we did it again we would likely skip the secret to success roll, as we had something chewy in some of the pieces. But all others were delicious and well made. The service was very friendly and the food arrived very quickly; we were in and out within an hour (but did not feel rushed). Definitely plan to come back again for a nice date night.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday evening and we were lucky that there wasn't much of a line so we got a table relatively quickly. Parking wasn't too had either which was nice given Assembly has a lot of space. Ambiance felt clean and modern - tons of seating and space in this large restaurant. The menu had a good mix of sushi and other Japanese options but we settled on sushi as the main focus of our meal. The service was quick with orders, but the food took extremely long to come out despite us not ordering that much. The portion was very tiny compared to the price - definitely felt overly expensive as the quality was just okay. Presentation looked decent at the very least, but the meal itself definitely didn't feel worth it. Overall, I probably wouldn't return. I'm glad I experienced this spot, but if looking for sushi, I'd probably go elsewhere at this price point for either more food or just better quality fish and service.

Boiled chicken teriyaki. Not very good.

Found this place on Yelp and decided to go here since the reviews were good. The interior is beautiful, well-lit, modern & up-scale looking, and spacious even with all the dining tables. The service was great - very friendly staff and food came out quick. The food was expensive and not very good. We ordered the roto sampler, which has 1 piece of each hamachi toro, sake toro, suzuki toro, chicken teriyaki, and miso soup. The toto sampler had very thin slices of each toro on a huge plate. I wish I had taken a picture. Such a huge plate with little fish. They need to rethink their plating. Fish was just ok too. Toro is supposed to be fatty. These were not very fatty, which was disappointing. At least, it tasted fresh. The chicken teriyaki was bland and looked and tasted boiled. The menu says it's grilled, but there are no char marks and no smokey flavor that comes from grilling. Also the chicken itself lacked flavor. It was pale slices of chicken breast doused with teriyaki sauce to give it flavor. The miso soup was the only thing I really enjoyed.

Came in here for lunch during 1 of 3 days of a conference and it was the best spot on assembly row. Service was super fast and everyone was very friendly. I had the seared lunch special including 2 nigiri of salmon and tuna each and a spicy tuna roll. It also included a miso soup & salad. Everything was delicious, fresh, and came out quickly. Restaurant was also cute and felt clean.

My coworkers went here and sat at the bar. We were able to get a seat immediately. Service was very friendly, and our bartender was very friendly. The restaurant is fairly loud, but it's a fun environment. Drinks were pretty solid but the bar is limited on selections compared to nearby locations. The food was absolutely great, however! I ordered a scallop sushi roll, and it was the best thing I've had when it comes to sushi. I also ordered a couple traditional rolls such as crab and shrimp, and those were even excellent. If you're in the area, highly recommend this high level sushi joint!

Its been so long since I came here and they still maintain excellent service, great quality sushi, and cleanliness! I like that they present a casual fine dining experience where you get great service in a casual setting. Our server was very nice and super attentive to our needs. I had a couple things modified and swapped out in the lunch menu and they were very nice and got everything right. I really enjoyed the Seared Special Lunch that comes with a spicy tuna roll, 2 seared tuna nigiri and 2 seared salmon nigiri. The nigiri were beautiful and it tasted so good seared. This is the lunch item I swapped the spicy tuna out for a spicy salmon roll with no trouble at all. The Makimono Combo Lunch features three rolls which is a great portion to keep you full and your taste buds satisfied! I definitely recommend the bento boxes to everyone because the box is beautiful and comes with a huge variety of items such as edamame, tempura, a salad, a soup, and 3 pieces of sushi! A great item! Overall this is a great modern Asian restaurant and I enjoy the presentation, service, and ambiance.

Food: 11/10! I had Fuji @ Kendall before COVID and thought it was VERY meh/small portion/average quality but definitely seen a BIG improvement here since then! The sushi rolls were all delicious... The fish (sashimi) quality was 11/10, not too much rice, and even the avocado felt fresh. The side salad felt really fresh too, and I liked the dressing a lot. Even the miso soup was good! (I try to avoid it though b/c high sodium) Overall no complaints about the sushi / sashimi / salad! Service: Our food was really fast, and our server was super friendly and patient! Ambiance: We sat inside, during a Wednesday 2pm and it was pretty empty. The inside of the restaurant is very Japanese-y, lots of bright light and outdoor seating is available as well. It's in a great location too, I love Assembly! Overall, 11/10, would recommend & come back!

I'm usually a bit wary about "pan-Asian" restaurants that serve food from many different Asian countries, but I was pleasantly surprised here. I started with a Whiskey Lowball, which was the right amount of tart and not-too-sweet. Since the weather was cold, rainy, and miserable, I got the Hot & Sour Soup, which was surprisingly some of the best I've had in a long time. For the main course, I got two maki rolls. The caterpillar roll was excellent, with tender eel and ripe avocado. The salmon skin/cucumber roll was mediocre -- the salmon skin tasted burnt, and there was too much unagi sauce on the roll. My wife got chirashi, which had high quality salmon, tuna, and yellowtail (no octopus, which was just fine with her!), along with 4 kinds of fish roe. My daughter got the chicken udon stir-fry, and she cleaned the plate (high praise coming from her). Service was quick and friendly. Atmosphere is very casual -- seems more fitting for a business lunch than date night.

Located in Assembly Row, this contemporary spot was a modern approach to Japanese cuisine. They have an extensive menu consisting of sushi, wok-tossed cuisine, lunch specials, and dinner entrees. They do have cocktails but it's very limited. They don't deviate from the menu. Mainly serves wine, beer, and sake. I asked about whiskey but they ran out or don't have it anymore, it wasn't clear. Price wise was expensive. Street parking is hard to find but there are multiple garages around that free up to 3-hour parking. Cocktails- Not a huge fan. Sugary juice mixture and spirits. Shrimp Tempura- My nephew loves shrimp tempura but something about this batter he wasn't feeling. He only ate the shrimp. Volcano Maki- Four pieces of tuna, and avocado, topped with red crab roll with tobiko, drizzled in unagi sauce, spicy mayo, and tempura bits. We did like the combination of flavors. Rowing Down the Mystic- Spicy red crab and tobiko mix, topped with seared salmon, scallion, and popcorn shoots, drizzled with unagi. It's okay. Toro Sampler Nigiri- Hamachi toro, sake toro, Suzuki toro. A must-try. Sake Negi & Lemon Nigiri- Salmon, scallion & lemon. Excellent. Overall Service: Only our server was pleasant. It's not the place where I should have taken my sister and nephew but they were craving Japanese food. We just happened to be in the area. It has a fancy pants vibe that felt stuffy. I don't think I would go here myself.

New/Updated Review! Fuji at Assembly is the sushi spot I hold pretty much all other sushi spots to. Fuji at Assembly never disappoints. Well staffed, well run. The thing that really sets Fuji apart is the actual, physical set up. There is a big, full bar right up front with views out the windows and two flat screen TVs (I like a bar with TVs...). They have a good selection of Sake and Japanese Whiskeys. There is also a sushi bar if you prefer that. And an open concept, large dining room. I am a bar sitter. I will always choose the bar because I also like to actually talk to people. Fuji at Assembly has the vibe of a nice, friendly neighborhood bar, with excellent food. (Which is pretty unusual. Especially when that food is sushi/Japanese/Chinese/Singaporean...) Assembly Row is a great area and if you spend enough time at any of the restaurants you will discover there is an entire community here. It is always a nice, fun, chill vibe to be part of here. But on top of that there is a LARGE menu that has ALL the sushi: simple pieces, complex pieces, simple rolls, HUGE rolls. Extensive vegetarian selections. But also a wide selection of cooked items: wok tossed AMAZING things; rices, noodles. You name it. Honestly their menu should be big goalz for everyone trying to run a spot like this. But you also need to have the staff to execute your menu and I have never had a single thing here that wasn't just excellent. And I've eaten my way through a lot, a lot of this menu my friends! I need to arrive at Fuji Assembly with a plan for what I'm going to eat. Because I mainly always want to get the Wok Tossed Vegetarian dish (Pro Tip: ask for extra garlic!). It is hard to explain the straight Deliciousness of this dish. Every bite is pure joy. Portions are generous here, so to eat a Wok Tossed dish you can't get carried away with appetizers. Or pieces of sushi. Gotta map out your approach. Did I mention there are soups? Yeah, I love good soup also. And Fuji has multiple soups I can order even though I don't eat beef, pork or poultry. Which is, honestly, unheard of. Fuji's menu is designed with so many options for vegetarians/pescatarians that is can be overwhelming. Crazy Town!! I often think I should try new and different restaurants. But it's hard to make myself pass up an opportunity to spend time at Fuji Assembly...

Not spicy. Not too saucy, so you can "feel" the noodle, but I would have liked more vegetables. -- Yibin Fiery Noodles: Warm and similarly al dente, these were manageably spicy. Meat crumble, seeds or nuts, scallions, and heat. -- Red and Green Pepper Chicken: Batterless but crisp, tender, and not boneless. Relentlessly spicy from several heat sources and kaleidoscopically delicious. The closest comparison is dry hot chicken that also goes by a few other names, but this was better. Elite, and the best thing I ate in all of 2025, but sadly no longer on the menu. -- Stone Pot Tofu: Billed as Ma Po Tofu sizzling in a stone pot, but no sizzle and no stone pot. Identified as very spicy but minimally spicy and more numbing (more "ma" than "la"). I enjoyed the overall flavor (heavily seasoned) and the saltiness of the fermented black beans. Crisp, beefy, and chili sauce on the side added contrast. Solid, but boring, more typical of an Americanized offering, and a waste of an opportunity given Too Hot's killer menu. -- Pork Belly with Fermented Beans: Superb rendition, not drastically different from twice cooked pork, but much more flavor and giant pieces. Huge shoutout to Eduardo, the manager, who went above and beyond to make our sisters holiday outing feel special and intentional, and to our server Paulina, who was attentive, warm, and truly wanted everything to be perfect. And it was. Let's talk ambiance first because whew. Chic. Stylish. Aesthetic on aesthetic. Even the walk to the bathroom felt curated. Ladies... the mirror alone deserves a moment. Full body selfie approved. Now the drinks. The mocktail I had was SO good. Balanced, flavorful, refreshing. I like a mocktail that has flavor and layers without being super sweet. The apps thoughhhhhh! They deserve their own paragraph because baby... The crab rangoon was TO DIE FOR. That old school wrap dough situation? I have been hunting for that exact texture and flavor forever. My fave restaurant switched dough and I haven't had a good Rangoon since then until now. It was crispy, nostalgic, and perfect. The fried egg rolls? Delicious. The pickled cucumbers? Bright and refreshing and er literally ate every drop, lol. But the WINNER... those fall off the bone ribs. I might have made a sound when I bit into them. Cooked to perfection. A full blown flavor party in my mouth. The scallion pancakes were the only thing that did not hit for me. The dough was thicker and heavier than I prefer. I love mine light and airy like traditional scallion pancakes. If they leaned that way I would have been obsessed. Our main courses... baybeeee The Dan Dan noodles... I did not even get a bite. I went to ask my sister for a taste and they were GONE. All of them. That says everything. My other sister loved the dumplings and even more that they fried them for her instead of serving them traditionally. And the sauce with those dumplings... Let me tell you about the sauce. I am OBSESSED. I took some home and Eduardo generously gave me more to take. That is top tier service and an at home sauce party, lol. My fried house rice was excellent. The mix of veggies and flavors was perfection. With everything else we ordered I could not even finish it. And then... dessert. Eduardo and Paulina surprised us with a complimentary cheesecake that was so light and decadent, topped with fruit and homemade whipped cream. Next time I am absolutely saving space for that. The customer service was truly top tier. The decor, the food, the staff, the background music. Everything PERFECT. My sisters and I sat for hours. We laughed. We ate. We shared emotions. We were present. That alone tells you how comfortable and welcoming this space is. I would go back today. I cannot wait to bring my husband and some of my fellow foodies. The layout encourages ordering several dishes for the table, and the variety across the menu makes it easy to build a meal that feels different with each visit. The small plates are the biggest draw because they let you try a wide range of flavors without committing to a single entrée. The pork belly buns are one of the signature dishes, featuring tender pork inside soft steamed buns with a balance of sweet and savory flavors. The dan dan noodles are another standout with their rich, spicy sauce, while the Brussels sprouts have developed a strong following thanks to their crispy texture and bold seasoning. I got everything mild with sauces on the side and that was definitely the way to go. The chicken manchurian is quite hot/spicy even at the mild level so I was glad about the mild selection.

I had really been looking forward to trying this place and was finally able to on Valentines Day…read more The decoration was adorable and I'm pretty sure they were booked out for the evening. There was a great singer, pianist, and sax player to really set the mood. They were super fun, especially when a couple got engaged! To start, I got their ginger martini and while my friend went with a Do-er neat (not a whiskey drinker myself, lol). He tried to order 2 of their beers but they were out of both. My drink came after 15 mins and then we had to remind the waiter about his whiskey. That took another 10. We started with the chicken bao buns and the samosas. Both spectacular! My only complaint is the little size for the samosa size. For our mains we got the short rib and the white butter chicken. The butter chicken could've used a bit more chicken for the price and was frankly a bit tough. The sauce was great. The short rib was flavorful and packed the perfect punch. Dipping the garlic naan in both sauces was my fav part!! Overall an ok experience. I want to give the restaurant grace because it was very packed but service was poor. I think we had 4 different staff members help us total which probably led to lots of miscommunication.

TLDR: Potentially…read moreone of my favorite Chinese restaurants in all of Massachusetts! Beautiful interior, centrally located, and delicious, high-quality food. Will definitely find a reason to come back here soon. ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] STIR-FRIED CABBAGE W/ PORK BELLY (5/5) Presentation was phenomenal (in a clay pot with its own burner underneath to keep it hot). The portion was much larger than expected, and most importantly, it tasted incredible. Generous amounts of pork in this, and the sauce was authentic and addicting. 2. SCALLION CHICKEN (5/5) Another great choice. This was a huge portion with lots of tender chicken, and the scallion was present without being overpowering. 3. CRISPY BEEF WITH FRIED DOUGH STICKS (5/5) I was expecting Chinese you tiao but these were actually the small, ultra crispy manhua twists! Paired with the beef, this was a large and unique dish that I loved. The crispiness of the mahua made this a textural delight to eat. 4. MANGO SAGO DESSERT (5/5) Big portion, wonderful assortment of toppings including grapefruit, mango, sago, and popping balls over a creamy dessert soup base. 5. PEKING DUCK (4/5) I think I'm a tough critic since I just came back from Beijing and had so much Peking duck there. We ordered the half portion here and it had a generous amount of meat for not being the full portion. There were an assortment of accompaniments, including pineapple (new to me) and sugar (like the Beijing style) which were welcome additions. The wrappers were steamed well and didn't curl up on the edges. Overall this was a solid Peking duck, but the meat wasn't as standout as I was hoping. 6. STEAMED PORK SOUP DUMPLING (4/5) Solid soup dumplings. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely hit the spot. 7. SAUTEED PEA SPROUTS (4/5) Another solid classic. 8. PORK MEATBALL IN CRAB MEAT SAUCE (4/5) This was the most unique thing we ordered. I've never had a shi zi tou meatball with crab meat sauce before. The meatball itself was large (maybe size of a tennis ball), tender, and fatty, as it should be. It was then drowned in a generous lake of traditional crab meat sauce. If you're not a fan of crab meat then this might be a bit too fishy for you, but honestly it all combined surprisingly well and I grew to like this dish more and more with each bite. I wasn't the biggest fan to start, but by the end I wouldn't have minded getting another one! ------ AMBIANCE / ENVIRONMENT: * The interior has the classic Asian style of decor, but you can tell it was recently built / renovated because everything felt new and fresh. * The ambiance also felt more new-school luxurious vs. the typical Asian establishments that are more no-frills with as many tables packed in as possible * You're still somewhat close to the tables around you, but it's not overwhelming during lunch time and we still felt like we had enough space regardless * There's a bar area at the front of the restaurant and then a large, spacious dining room in the back * This is a great place for a date or a meaningful family gathering * Right outside is Boston Common, making this restaurant very well-located for lunch before or after a nice day in the park. While there's lots of parking around the park, a spot itself can be hard to come by, so your best bet might be to use the nearby parking garage instead ------ SERVICE: * Overall the service was great and quick. They did forget our tea, but when we asked for it later they apologized profusely and were quick to bring it out for us * This place fills up quickly so be sure to come early if you don't have a reservation or if you're a big enough group, make a reservation for your desired dining time

I had this with my Shanghainese relatives and they thought it was so bad Fish Slices w/ Pickled Mustard Greens (6.5/10): This tasted fine. The fish itself was not memorable. The spice level was ok, but could've been spicier. Crab Roe over Rice (7/10): Pretty tasty, but more of a side dish. Peking Duck (7/10): Honestly, I never order Peking duck unless I'm with my relatives. It tasted good to me, but pretty comparable to other Peking ducks I've had in the US. I think this is their #1 specialty dish or something, so knowing that, it doesn't really live up to the hype. tl;dr Too expensive for the quality of food you get.

Yummyyyyyy! As I sit here eating leftovers from our dinner order the other night!!…read more We ordered delivery - big plate chicken- tender chicken very flavorful with potatoes and veggies and pasta. The stir fry dry chicken was really good too even though it was oily but so tasty! The laghman was enjoyed by the hubs. And I really enjoyed the fish dish - also very oily and could use less oil definitely. But tasty. Food came within a reasonable time. Overall quite satisfied with the food! Plenty of leftovers. Will order again.

TLDR: shockingly flavorful food in a homey ambiance…read more I have to say I was blown away with the flavors presented to me here. In particular, the pork dumplings were such a surprise pick! They're filled with this flavorful broth so despite looking very unassuming they were bursting with flavor. We came here on a Sunday evening without a reservation and were seated in 10min. The menu is entirely online but food came out quickly after we ordered. Dishes we got: - beef laghman: spiced well and chewy noodles! I liked it, although I was a bit confused if it was Uyghur or Chinese because it tasted very similar to Chinese food to me - Pork dumplings: delicious, you have to get these. They look so boring. They're SO good and there's so many. - Mapo tofu: my mouth was very numb eating this but the tofu was silky smooth. I can only assume it was good but I didn't have much spice tolerance left in me after the laghman.
