I absolutely love this place!! The cooks there are really entertaining. I love when they make certain things and then set them on fire on the grill out of nowhere, and when they shoot sake and pieces of food into peoples' mouths. One time when we went there, they even had something they called "baby sake" which they shot into younger kids' mouths. I'm pretty sure it was lemonade or Sprite. I've personally never have actually sat at a table and/or booth before because we always sit by the hibachi grills. The place is clean and well decorated. The food there is pretty good, obviously not the best, but still good. I love the dipping sauces that come with the shrimp and their fried rice. It's a little expensive though, even for the large portions given. My family & I would probably go here more often if it wasn't so expensive. The reason why I'm giving it a 4 star rating is because, the 3-4 times that we've actually gone there, we've had to wait extra time to actually get seated, usually about 10-20 minutes. To be honest, the wait isn't that bad. I think that overall, it's just a 4 star restaurant. I'm sure that there are better hibachi restaurants out there, but I do recommend visiting this place. 5 Stars? YUP! This is my second trip to a Fuji Grill location and I'm still just at happy as I was the first time. This Buffalo area mini-chain has roughly 4-5 locations and so far has done nothing but impress me. The inside of this place is absolutely beautiful (look up at the ceiling, it'll seriously hypnotize you). Yesterday I came here for lunch and ordered the Grilled Steak roll and the Grilled chicken roll (I don't eat REAL sushi, no fish for me). Both rolls we're absolutely delicious. The staff here was friendly, the prices were reasonable, and we were in and out in under 35 minutes. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for sushi on Transit! read more

We went here early (around 6pm) on a Saturday night to use a Groupon that was expiring. No wait for a table, but there definitely was one when we left! Food was very good--we have the Love Boat (sushi & sashimi for 2). We were sitting at a very small table for 2 in a curtained alcove to the right of the front door. Nice idea, but a little small for 2 tall people. Then this HUGE wooden boat filled with fish and beautifully decorated and garnished arrived. Luckily, we had the window sill to shift our drinks to. The Love Boat ($42) also comes with a choice of Miso Soup or a small green salad. The fish was all very good and we were amazed and the size of the pieces of sashimi! Almost the size of 2 pieces anywhere else. Service was prompt and attentive. The only minor complaint would be the ambience--it's a very large building and the noise from the several hibachi tables carries throughout. Although they've tried to create some visual barriers with partial walls and curtains, it still seems a bit barn-like. read more

One of my favorite things to do when checking out the raw eats in any urban area is to see who has the freshest, best quality sushi. Fuji Grill, despite its "local chain" status- or maybe because of it- is definitely a contender. Sashimi was cut a full inch thick, giving me flashbacks to a woefully brief but wonderful trip to Japan many years ago. When I awoke from this reverie, I noted that the wasabi was tolerable but fake (ground horseradish with green food coloring), a small bowl of sticky rice came with my platter, and that mysterious clanging I kept hearing was the hibachi chef showing off on the other side of the restaurant. Great lunch specials, reasonable dinner prices, and they will modify rolls upon request. read more

One minor issue before I get to the good part. I had made a reservation on their website, got a confirmation and it added it to my gmail calendar but when I got there, they did not have my reservation listed. That being said we went last night for Valentine's day and they were very busy and we still only waited like 10 minutes and the staff was very kind and made sure we were seated quickly. Been to a lot of hibachi but never here, but we will be back. Staff is wonderful. Took awhile to get our drink orders and actual drinks but again they were busy and it's such a chaotic atmosphere trying to take care of large tables with limited space so again they did a great job. The chef was entertaining and the food was absolutely delicious and there was so much of it. For a hibachi diner you get soup and salad, your choice of fried noodles or fried rice, vegetables, a couple of shrimp and then whatever you ordered for the meal. So much food we happily took some home. For our meals I had the steak and shrimp and my fiancée had the chicken and scallops. It's really amazing to watch it all be cooked on the flat top in front of you while the chef does fun little tricks and entertains you. This has long been my daughters fav restaurant. Arrived to a not overly busy restaurant. Its 715 on a Tuesday. The bartender sat us or tried to at a grill where a mom and her two under 5yr olds. No issue with that. Its that she wanted myself and my teen and tween to sit in a corner of that table. Made no sense I asked could we please have a different place to sit given the circumstance. She then brought us to a grill where there was noone and again asked us to sit in a corner. Why on earth would you ask 3 adults to scrunch in a corner? It cost $100 for 3 dinners. I said oh no. She half way pointed to another area but didn't want to play this game. It was embarassing. I don't ever walk out or write up like this but omg. Sad. read more

My first time with my wife at Fuji Grill ever, after an amazing deal on Groupon. We went towards the end of the lunch time, so we got seated immediately. We had their veggie rice & noodles on the Hibachi Grill. Our hibachi chef was funny and cooked some yummy food. He introduced us to what he called the "yum yum sauce" which was fire!! If you go here, you have to try it. It's the white sauce!! Hibachi lunch came with a soup and a small salad (which is fairly standard). Given there were only a few customers at the time we went, the service was fast. I did go here once couple of months ago for Hibachi, and this place was packed. Slow Wednesday night, my husband and I were the first to be seated at a hibachi table. Server got us our drinks and another couple was soon seated. She got their drinks and asked if we were ready to order. I told her I wanted to order sushi and my husband was getting hibachi. The server was very snippy while informing us we couldn't sit there if I was getting sushi ... "it's printed in the menu"....because it was "just the two of us". I couldn't find it in the menu. We were seated almost right away and place was pretty much empty but still didn't see our server or get a drink order in for 15 minutes then didn't get drinks for another 5-10. Couldn't put food in with drinks either. Our server,Michelle, came to the table as little as she possibly could and we heard her complaining about "how many more tables will I get tonight". We typically go to the Fuji grill in Niagara Falls but we decided to try a different one this time. Walking in we were greeted promptly and seated with one other couple. The waitress was just there. She didn't put on the customer service attitude to make the experience more full filling but we didn't mind since we came for the show! We ordered hibachi and got our soaps and salad in a reasonable amount of time. When the cook came over he had the same attitude as the waiter... just there. He didn't do sake unless asked, my son wanted to try the little boy sake and the cook just practically ignored us. So he didn't get to try to kid sake like he wanted. He didn't throw broccoli or food at us. His volcano was a big ball of fire. It was not anything what we thought. Very poor entertainment when that's what your paying for. We also ordered drinks and my husband wanted his on the rocks but instead they brought it in a slushee form. Very displeased with our night out. My husband and I love Fuji Grill and all the entertainment that goes along with the hibachi experience. The hibachi is the main reason we enjoy going to Fuji Grill, and it's never a disappointment. The food is delicious, and the chefs are very skilled at what they do. The menu has a huge variety and the food included in the hibachi price is well worth it. However, the past few times we've been to this location, we've been very dissatisfied with the service. At our most recent visit, we waited about 20 minutes which wasn't too bad. It wasn't busy, but they looked short staffed so we were understanding. When we got seated, it was maybe another 5-10 minutes until we were greeted and asked about drink orders. We then received our soup and salad at the same time, and before the drinks arrived, all while our chef had come over to the grill and started cooking our meals. It seemed like everything happened at once, and in a rush, instead of the typical soup, then salad, and then entree. We'll still go back, just wanted to leave an honest review. read more

DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE A STAR!!! I got here with two friends and decided to get a specialty roll. No where on the menu it mentioned a cream sauce on top coating the entire thing. I have a dairy allergy and when I asked about what the sauce was my waitress responded with nothing but a blatant "i have no idea." She did not offer to address the issue by asking the kitchen or even offering to ask for me. Then, when my friend was nice enough to try she noted it even tasted SPOILED. I called her back over to address my allergy and asking if i could get a different roll she didn't sound considered and even questioned my allergy. For a local chain, I've got to say this place is amazing. This is the second location I've been too and I love it. This time I ordered sushi, a specialty roll, the Buffalo roll. It was delicious, I highly recommend that specific roll. Their menu is filled with plenty rolls as well as dishes like noodles or hibachi. I really enjoy hibachi. Fun atmosphere, entertainment and good food- what's not to love? But I gotta say I wasn't all that impressed with Fuji Grill. The night started with the waitress spilling all of the drinks on the grill: sizzling, smoke, panic, etc. I'm not even holding that against her, it was an honest mistake that could have happened to anyone but it did set the tone for the rest of the night. The food was just ok. Portion sizes were smaller than most places. It seemed like they didn't estimate for the table size properly so those on the end of the serving were skimped. The sauce used to cook was sweeter than I'm used to. He didn't ask how people wanted their meat cooked and one person at the table who asked for brown rice never got it. The waitress never came to refill drinks, offer dessert or anything else so after the chef was done we were pretty much left on our own, even down to having to ask for our check. Once we got the checks she disappeared again so I finally just went up to the counter to pay. This was my first time here so I'm not sure if this is typical of their service but I was disappointed. The price was a good deal only because I had a groupon. This location is new but they've been around in the WNY area for quite some time so I hope they can work out the kinks. Just FYI - if you order from this location through the Skip The Dishes app you will get charged a foreign transaction fee. This has happened to me several times and my bank could only reverse two of the charges. I've gone once and I won't go again. The fluorescent lighting made for a really strange atmosphere unlike any hibachi restaurant I've been to. I went with three other people and we sat at the hibachi grill. The food itself was average. I ordered my filet medium rare/more on the rare side, and it was more medium/med well. Noodles weren't my favorite, but not too bad. The chef was lackluster in his "performance" and without asking us (or IDing us) shot sake toward our mouths from a dirty, yellow, plastic mustard bottle before we even knew what was going on. I obviously tried to catch/drink it as to not let it go all over the place, but it did any way (even though I waved my hand to gesture to stop) and got all over my shirt and hair. Same thing happened with the other girl I was with, and we smelled like alcohol the rest of the night. Gross! The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth (literally) and I won't be going back. There are many other better quality/nicer hibachi restaurants in Buffalo. read more

Went there tonight and it was ridiculously bad. We ordered two appetizers: chicken tempura and calamari. Tempura was clearly frozen and the calamari was cold. My meal (husan chicken) had no taste at all...just...nothing. I guess I did taste the nuts and the over abundance of celery but the chicken was tasteless. I ordered fried rice and she brought the white rice. My wife had the vegetable pad thai ( they clearly made it chicken pad thai and just took bits of the chicken off as there were remnants) and something was off. The meal tasted old and as if it was sitting in some sort of used oil for an extended period of time. We enjoyed Fuji Grill 2 so we figured we'd try this. We love Asian cuisine and have it every few weeks. This was truly awful. Never, ever again. The waitress was ok. read more

Went yesterday for lunch. We decided to do the hibachi lunch. I started out with chicken yakitori, 2 small skewers of chicken which wasn't traditional yakitori for $7. For the main lunch, I got shrimp & scallops, 4 small shrimp & 3 smaller scallops and fried noodles. Son got steak & chicken with rice. The cook put a steak about 6 oz on the grill. Only to find out it was split between my son and another guy they sat at our grill. My wife just got the chicken which was about 6 tenders that were split between her , my son and the 2 other guys they sat with us. Also we had three beers so the bill came to $70 with tip $85 for lunch and I left just as hungry as I was when I arrived. read more
