Also has a HUGE selection of rolls for my wife, I love the Unagi Don and can't seem to find it anyplace else, and we both love the Tempura Udon (tempura prawns & vegetables, udon noodles soup). My friend and I have been to this place many times . I really enjoy the Dragon Roll and the miso soup. Unfortunately, during one visit, my friend had a piece of eel bone stuck in his throat after ordering the Dragon Roll. We informed the server, but they said it was normal. After we left, my friend ended up throwing up, and I had to go to the grocery store to get him water and a banana to help. I felt really bad that he had to go through that. Went inside and it was only me and 2 other people, but it was early so makes sense either way the waitress was very nice and super friendly and I ordered the Tonkostu ramen, California roll and a Shirley Temple. Came out very fast and boy was it amazing!!! The ramen had so much flavor and the sushi didn't taste cheap and it was so good. You could always do the lunch specials or the main menu but I chose main. Definitely something I was craving and everything was delicious. Do try it's worth it!!! We ordered gyoza, miso soup, Philly roll, avocado roll, sweet potato roll, out of control roll, and the sunset roll. The out of control roll was both of our favorites! We've loved the consistency with polite people working each time and the food preparation and presentation. They have an easy online ordering that makes it convenient to place orders and pick up, which are always accurate and on time for our $100-$130 worth of sushi. Our children love their shrimp tempura, avocado, original California and golden California (sans spicy sauce). As this roll is our eldest favorite- we always ask for omission of spicy and they've always left it off which is the best in the eyes of an 8 year old. The sunset roll is my go-to roll and incredible tasting with fresh fruit used each and every time. We've ordered their edamame, tempura mix and various specialty rolls over our four years here. While looking for what to have as an entree, the house salads were already brought out, that's definitely a plus one in service. Only 5 minutes after ordering our rolls, we were already given our food. It looks immaculate and the taste was phenomenal. 2-3 mins afterwards, my girlfriend was given her hot jalapeños, which looked amazing but I'm not too big on spicy food. As she put it "good size, good price, yummy, happy" so I'd say that says enough. It may not look like a lot of food in the photos but when leaving, I felt surprised on how full I felt. Heavenly rolls!! Whoa. Every single roll we had at Oyama was absolutely delicious. The fish was fresh, the sauces were not overpowering, and they have real crab and soy paper in a few of their rolls. We usually have a hard time finding restaurants that have soy paper instead of seaweed, so this was a big plus! Like some of the reviews say, the Out of Control roll is a must have. It melts in your mouth and is the perfect bite size. It has salmon, tuna, and white fish inside and on top, and the Chef's sauce is great. This was our favorite, but the others were just as good. We also ordered the Angry Dragon and Ocean's Trio Roll. On top of the rolls, we also had spicy tuna hand rolls. There are plenty of tables inside and while we made a reservation, it does not seem like you would normally need one. I arrived just before a rush started. This place is very popular. I had a hankering for ramen so I knew what I wanted before I sat down. Unfortunately they took a while to order and a couple big tables got ahead of me. When my ramen finally came out it was a little disappointing. The miso broth wasn't very flavorful and the egg seemed old somehow, like it had been boiled and then frozen before being reheated and served. The noodles were OK but not great. I should have followed my rule and gotten SUSHI at this SUSHI place. I mean it has SUSHI in the name (Oyama Sushi). Everyone around me was enjoying their sushi. So apparently their sushi is popular and I should come back and try that, but I would not recommend the ramen. read more

It seem like 2 perhaps more of the staff were continually sneezing, Gotta be one of the worst conditions you want to encounter with repetition in any food kitchen !!!!. The staff are almost entirely dead pain, no welcome no sense of awareness of my being there as a patron buying and consuming their products. The food was ok but I lived in Japan for 7 years so I'm a little spoiled haha. The waitress was super nice but I was put off by one of the other staff not covering his nose when he sneezed inside the kitchen. It was a big sneeze too. Don't get me wrong, sneezing is totally fine as long as you cover it up and then wash your hands. He didn't do either. You do get a lot of food but the pork for the Tankatsu was a little dry. I might give this place another try and get the sushi instead, but we'll see. read more

They only had a couple of tables so not sure what the issue was. We ordered a roll and the Sashimi platter and the fried avocado appetizer. The fried avocado was pretty good and the sashimi wasn't bad. However the rice on the nigiri was a little hard. Not sure if it was old rice or undercooked rice. Miso soup and salad should have been brought out as part of the Sashimi platter however the waitress missed that. I didn't realize until I saw her bring some to another table. This is my new favorite sushi spot! I had Hamachi sashimi, veggie shrimp tempura, unagi nigiri and spinach with sesame sauce. All was on point...delicious, beautifully presented, creative and hella fresh. It was also affordable. The tempura was light and decadent... not greasy at all and cooked perfectly. The Hamachi was like butter. They have a great sake list. My server was friendly, genuine and accommodating. The only suggestion I would give is to somehow dim the lights a little bit. What a lovely surprise this Sushi restaurant turned out to be. After a very stressful day, we walked in and greeted with warmth and friendliness. Everyone seems to jump to Chinese on Christmas but after a hectic situation at a nearby restaurant we decided to come here and it was the best move we made (and suggest others to follow). It's the best sushi we had since we moved to Sebastopol! Everything was fresh, and delicious! So much so, I can't stop dreaming of this place. This is a great new sushi place! The Miso Soup was light and good. We loved the Out of Control and Golden Bear Roll. The presentation of the rolls are beautiful and a nice extra touch. Creating My Personal Delight (make your own) with the Super White Tuna was definitely our favorite part. We've been here twice this week since the Grand Opening to take advantage of the 20% off and amazing rolls. We'll still be loving the food once they are charging full price, but maybe just a little less frequently. read more
