I brought my 4 year old here for a mother daughter date. We came two days before Christmas and arrived somewhat early in the evening; knowing it's a busy night for them. We got right in to a table for hibachi. We shared with a large family who was more than welcoming to us. The meal was so good. Our hibachi cook Tim was great and polite. Everyone's food looked great. This is our favorite restaurant in Spring Hill. The food is amazing and fresh. The restaurant is always clean. The servers are friendly and accommodating. We do both hibachi - entertaining and delicious and just regular table service. Both are amazing. Everyone we take here loves it!! Prices for lunch are the best. You get a ton of food for such a reasonable price. I just can't say enough about it! I love the tempura chicken and fried rice. My husband loves everything...lol but especially the soup, hibachi steak and shrimp and rice. You always get WAY too much food and end up with a second meal the next day. Gotta say this rivals Arigato, Kobi, and the original Benihana. Everything was just wonderful. The usual before meal soup and salad was good. We also shared some rolls which were fresh and tasty. The hibachi grill was same old routine: some flashy knife tricks, the old onion volcano, flip some food into mouths, etc. The food off the grill was plentiful and delicious. I enjoyed the steak and shrimp, while the wife had the chicken, both were outstanding in flavor! After the meal we walked over to the bar where I enjoyed for the first time a Kirin Ichiban on TAP! That beer was followed by 2 more. I have always had ichiban in the bottle or those huge tall cans. This is the first time I have ever seen that katana tap handle. The bar is gorgeous and clean. More people should goto this bar just for drinks. We will be back alot. Next time we will belly up to the sushi bar! read more

It was our first time eating at this particular restaurant. I didn't realize it was a combination hibachi grill and sushi bar; however, we were in the mood for sushi so we opted for the latter. Pros: +Atmosphere +Drinks were refilled promptly (Sweet tea was very sweet, which I liked) +Menus were easy to read +Rolls were good, especially the Naruto and Iso roll. My wife had the Miso soup and she enjoyed it very much. +Our seating area was sectioned off from the hibachi area, but had viewing areas if you want to see the action. +Bathroom decoration was pretty... my wife and I loved the sinks. Cons: -Shumai appetizer (shrimp dumplings, dimsum style) tasted like it came from a frozen supermarket package. We were disappointed with it. -Sushi itself (I had the Tuna) was fresh, but it was very dry. -Both Male and Female bathrooms were dirty with toilet paper all over the floor. Wife also said there was no feminine receptacle in the Lady's room. Overall: It wasn't a bad experience. There were some pros and some cons to this restaurant. Fujiyama has the best food. It's a diamond in the rough. My kids love the Soup. My kids and myself really love the chicken. My wife and I love the Shrimp. We have been going here for years. I'm shocked it's not rated 5 stars. This place is better than a lot of the big named Japanese restaurants in the 'Big' cities. The service is super fast and you don't have wait to 2 hours to sit a large party. Best place to have a Birthday party. I would highly recommend this place to eat. read more

We placed a to go order, arrived to the restaurant with only 3 cars in the parking lot. Husband went in to get our food and had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for sushi. People were coming and going after we had arrived and still nothing. Husband asked to speak to manager and the server said their wasn't a manager working. We finally got the food and multiple items weren't even correct. We will definitely NOT be back and we will definitely be following up with a manager whenever one shows up. read more

This is a review on the teppanyaki meal, I do not recommend it and won't go back. The soup at the beginning of the meal was good. The chefs entertainment was as expected, the meal looked like it was going to be good but was in fact fairly tasteless and extremely salty (and I like salt) A table of 6, we had chicken, salmon (it was 'fishy'), shrimp & scallops. The meat, the fried rice and the veggies all had the same non-flavor. Also the water had a weird taste, the wait staff agreed and told us they don't drink it, only bottled water, which we were offered for a fee. read more

Went here for our Valentines dinner. First time dining here. The staff is very friendly, they greet you as soon as you come in. We were seated right away. The food was good and tasty. There yum yum sauce was very good. Portions are good. I got the chicken and steak and it comes with soup and salad and fried rice and veggies. The cook put on a good show . Service was lousy. The food was even worse. The soup was basically water with 2 slices of a mushroom. The main meal beef teriyaki had barely any steak in it and the vegetables were chopped so small you could hardly tell one from another. Their vegetable spring rolls were smaller than my pinkie. Came on a late Monday night and received ok service. My husband and I split the Hibachi for 2 and I received 4 very small pieces of filet, 3 shrimp, and an extremely small portion of fried rice. We went to Fujiyama to celebrate my son's birthday. What we got instead were spunion farts and rancid mush. A lot of surfaces are sticky to the touch there. The food took a long time to come and when it did, the crab rangoon's crunch to mush ratio was way off with too much mush and the mush was rancid. Two dusty wooks came in and sat at the table next to us. They talked about DUI school and let bad spunion farts that wreaked so you could tell they hadn't slept in a couple days. read more

Ordered the sashimi plate at over 20 dollars with a side of rice and extremly disappointed with the size of the sashimi. They were absolutely small cuts. The rice was also a big disappointment. How can a Japanese restaurant serve old rice. I'm Asian and I know what fresh rice is verses day old rice. The rice had a tinge of yellow and a distinct smell that it was cooked the day before. Way too pricey for the quality and the amount of food that was served. We sat in the booth and the area looked very nice, but we will not go back. read more

Easily the most popular hibachi in the area, and clear to see why. My expectations from where I lived prior-and the Hibachi in that area-were far surpassed with this place! The chef made us laugh, as they usually do, and his fleck of zucchini even made the crabby people across from us loosen up a bit! The food was on par with all others; after all, it's fried rice, vegetables, and steak, how much different is it REALLY from other hibachi's? I did enjoy that it wasn't greasy, also, everyone ordered differently, and not one item was overcooked. From the steaks, to chicken, filets, and lobster, he timed it all perfectly. This place used to be my favorite until Now. I have never been so disappointed. Very poor service especially management. We wanted the hibachi grill. Our server keep on messing up our order and other people whom seats next to us. We have to wait for them to bring our food from the kitchen instead of got hibachi service, if we want food from the kitchen we would of ask for a table instead of hibachi. No apology or empathy. I hesitate to leave poor reviews when the food was awesome, as always, but I hate when I see employees being abused by management. We went in last evening and there were at minimum four tables waiting for regular dining-not the hibachi-ourselves included. finally one of the two hostesses went to go help clean tables so we could finally be seated. Next thing we see an older gentlemam-I use the term loosely after witnessing his behavior-following her back to the hostess stand being very rude to her while she is attempting to explain she was trying to help clean tables since there were so many waiting. He kept getting in her face being nasty. By the time she seated us she was in tears. As we were leaving we stopped to check on her and the other hostess (both girls were 18 and under), we noticed a handwritten saying 'Now hiring Hostesses'...it was not there when we sat down an hour prior. As much as we enjoy eating here, usually this is where we go for our special occasion dinners usually monthly, we will not be returning to a place where older male employees bully younger female employees so shamelessly.
