We never were huge fans of Full Moon, but, like they say, time heals old wounds. We were over this was so decided to give it a try. I had the Big Baker with pork. The description was right, it was huge and overflowing with pork, then overflowing a little more with way too much BBQ sauce dumped on top. There was a little cheese, maybe a tablespoon of sour cream but no butter or bacon. Even though completely over-sauced, it was dry. My husband had a turkey sandwich. It was loaded with meat and he said that he enjoyed it. While the food was ok, the lady's room was absolutely disgusting - had I gone in there first, we would have eaten elsewhere. Quick take: most food was good, ribs were not great. Lots of tvs, bathrooms were average clean, dining room was nice and clean, people were not rude, sweet tea was delicious! One of the better visits I've had to Full Moon in a while. I almost wrote Full Moon off completely but I won a gift certificate. Came around 4pm on Saturday, October 25th. I'd consider it again after this visit, but not rushing back with so many good bbq places. I'd recommend the sweet cornbread biscuits, smoked turkey, chow-chow (which is like a sweet and spicy slaw), collard greens, and mac-n-cheese, and the sweet tea. I would not recommend the baby back ribs. They were a little tough, almost as if they were boiled or not cooked enough. Sauce on them was good. The turkey sandwich came out with grease on the top of the bun which made for more of a mess than necessary. I don't think that was intentional. read more

We enjoyed a college fraternity reunion here and things went well. Everyone enjoyed their food. I ordered rib tips and got enough t get full. The room we were in was great for our private event. We had great servers and was well taken care of. I am interested to know if I can get rib tips in Birmingham. If so I will treat myself one day. The catfish was also plentiful. We got hung out to dry. Everyone was served and finished eating in our group except for 2 of us. They were ready to go back to work so we had to pack our stuff to go and eat it cold at the office. We waited roughly 45 minutes and no food. No one came by to check on us and when we finally got our order (while everyone else was leaving) they didn't offer an apology or anything. The food comes out to each table in sort of a random, doesn't make sense fashion. I saw people at other tables who got their meals 10 minutes after the rest of the people at their table. This place is in bad need of an attitude adjustment and some organization. Run. read more

This place has gone downhill--way downhill--since I ate there previously. I'm honestly surprised we didn't get food poisoning. The deviled eggs are still fine, but after that is where things went downhill. My pulled pork was pork jerky--like I had to chew it for 30 seconds to even get it down. The potato salad was meh at best. The okra was soggy and tasted like old fryer oil. Even the bun was gross. Better half got meh chicken, potato salad, and some gnarly smelling greens. Very nice staff BUT I swear it was the absolute driest brisket I have ever had. no juice whatsoever. Also, it was completely flavorless... had to add a lot of salt. AND, it wasn't even warm - just room temperature. 0/10 worst BBQ sauce I have ever tasted. 0/10 worst BBQ beans I have ever had. 1/10 barely warm Sadly, this was our first time visiting FM and probably our last. I have always enjoyed Full Moon but this experience was horrible. The small chicken sandwich I order was listed at $6.99. But when I got to the window it was $8.24. The cashier informed me the price is $7.99. That is not what the drive thru sign says but ok. I get home on the sandwich is hideous. Too much barbecue sauce and meat from a chicken leg. It was horrible and a waste of time and money. The small was equally as bad. By the time I got to the end of street there was no ice just a cup of warm tea. read more

This was my first time at this restaurant. I was visiting family in Huntsville. It is a quick service type of restaurant. My cashier was nice and patient as I always have questions. I ordered the bbq chicken plate with mac and cheese, baked beans, and greens. It also came with breakfast and chow chow. This was my first time having chow chow and it was pretty good. The chicken was extremely flavorful and delicious. The Mac and cheese was good but I prefer baked Mac and cheese. The rest of the table's food was similar to mine and one person had a cheeseburger. There were no complaints, everyone liked their food. If I go to Huntsville again, I would go back. read more

Well, I was disappointed. As someone who loves BBQ, I was eager to try Full Moon BBQ. First, you order at a counter. This surprised me due to the size of the restaurant. I expected table service. The person behind the counter walked around like I wasn't there and after about two minutes walked up to take my order. I sat down the food was brought to the table rather quickly, but hey this is BBQ and should be served quickly. The bad news is the order was wrong. I ordered the two-meat plate with pork and brisket, with no chow-chow. They brought me chicken and brisket with chow-chow. I didn't say anything. I scraped the chow-chow off the brisket and tried the two sides, BBQ beans and mac & cheese. The beans looked like they had been sitting for a long time and were ice cold. Actually, all of the food was ice cold. The mac & cheese lacked seasoning and was runny. The brisket had a nice smoke ring but crumbled when picked up. The skin of the chicken was not edible, but the meat was cooked perfectly. Ice cold food to me is a total turnoff. Getting the wrong order is not good. The Large BBQ sandwich is actually a Large, unlike most places! The fries are great too! I get them "extra crispy". The Pies are also on point. The Chocolate and Coconut Crème are wonderful. They also have a very good hamburger/cheeseburger. One of the best in town in my opinion. I haven't tried their wings, but I wouldn't be afraid to try them. They make good stuff! read more

I ordered a brisket plate with an added sausage link and a small drink. The total was $27.88....for that price, everything should be in the bag, and the brisket should be juicy. Instead, I didn't get any bbq sauce, and my brisket was very dry. Don't know why they are charging so much for. Definitely missed the mark. There is better bbq out there for this price. I don't recommend this at all. I will say the collard greens and ice tea were the best part of the meal. read more

It was my first visit to Full Moon BBQ and I stopped for lunch. I had the brisket sandwich and it was delicious! The meat was fresh, moist and flavorful. I have not had BBQ as good as this since I was last in Texas. I will definitely be back to try more items from the menu. I highly recommend Full Moon BBQ. read more

I purchased two meals at this restaurant. One meal for my godmother ( Fried Green Tomatoes + Brisket sandwich), she enjoyed that. The 2nd Meal that I ordered for myself was disgusting. I ordered fries and smoked wings that smelled really good but sadly I had to trash the entire meal because every single wing also contained smoked feathers. I ordered smoked wings and fries not smoked wings and feathers. I was extremely disappointed and I will NEVER go back and I would suggest you don't go either. Avoid this place at all cost. I took a friend of mine here for her birthday on Mon., 9/19 - it was her choice. The place was clean and there was plenty of space, as in the tables were not "on top of each other" There were several big screen TVs spread throughout this restaurant and they didn't all have the same station turned on. I can see this is a perfect place for watching sports! We each ordered the Baby Back Ribs with the sides, Mac & Cheese and Baked Beans. Everything was delicious!! My friend kept raving about how good the food was! And the portions were generous! The manager, Beau (sp?), even stopped by to make sure we were happy with our food and to talk a while! I was previously excited to recommend Full Moon BBQ because twice I had gotten some excellent smoked turkey and beef brisket. Their "chow-chow" (spelling?) relish is excellent. The BBQ sauce is thin but not overly sweet or salty... it's tasty and comes in generous quantities. On 12/16/22, my husband brought home the usual (tasty) smoked turkey and a completely unacceptable brisket. It was so fatty that I wanted to throw it away. Obviously, I wasn't interested in wasting my time driving ten miles to the store and complaining. In my experience, employees just roll their eyes anyway. I'm guesstimating it was about 25% solid fat. It just doesn't make sense to spend $24/lb plus 9% sales tax on this much solid fat. Basically my husband spent about $7 on inedible fat. Now if you're not a food nazi, on occasion you want some beef. Just beware if you choose Full Moon's brisket. Inspect it before eating, or driving away with your takeout. Of course there's plenty of big boys (and I guess women too) in Madison County who would enjoy eating meat with that much fat, but I they probably don't boast about it to their doctors. Good thing Alabama hospitals have a lot of expertise treating cardiac issues. read more

My son liked the ribs and the corn so he says that is worth 4 stars. The staff was friendly. It was not very expensive either. The corn on the cob was good. I didn't love the turnip greens but I wanted to try them. Overall pretty good. read more

We got take our, maybe it's better if you eat in. We ordered way too much. Brisket was ok, pulled pork was not good. Way too shredded, it resembled cotton. Corn on the cob was great.
