Cuuute dinner set up as soon as you walk in!

Welcome back, Full Moon Diner! We stopped by this week after hearing Full Moon Diner officially reopened following renovations! Loved the diner atmosphere it has the classic retro feel, and if you're anything like me, you'll find yourself wandering around checking out all the little details, which I encourage you to walk around and look at everything! One of my favorite parts was the family photo wall (I didn't post it so you can walk around and find it!) We love family owned restaurants and for me, supporting local businesses will always beat a chain restaurant. As usual, we ended up chatting with everyone we met. The staff were friendly and welcoming, walk right in and seat yourself! For food, we asked our server what was popular and went with her recommendations. My mom ordered the 2 egg breakfast combo with ham. First of all, that ham was HUGE! We requested extra crispy hash browns, and they came out absolutely perfect. I was told the burgers were one of their most popular items, so I ordered the burger combo. No complaints whatsoever other than being completely stuffed. The burger was delicious and cooked just right! And because apparently we had no self-control, we also ordered the loaded fries. That sauce was incredible and definitely worth trying. The food, the staff, the prices and ambiance were all great! added bonus for me is it's right down the road and convenient! Plus, I even managed to get a cute group photo with the staff before we left they had no issue taking a selfie with me We'll definitely be back. Welcome back to Full Moon Diner!

First of all, we loved our server Abby. She absolutely made our experience amazing. She was kind and attentive and answered all of our first-timer questions. The menu was extensive with a variety options. Breakfast served all day! Starting with the side salad set the bar for a great meal ahead. Carrot stick slivers and incredible ranch. I loved the Philly beef sandwich and fries. My guy loved his roast beef panini. And we finished the top notch meal with a kok, which was a spongy, syrupy, light sweet ending. Their dessert options were impressive. They have a whole case of cakes and another one for cheesecakes. The diner was spacious and comforting with a modern-yet-classic diner aesthetic that brings everything together. Highly recommend this place for late night. There's something for everyone!

This was my family's go to place when I was younger. Decided to stop by again recently and it has gone downhill from the last time to was here a few years back. It needs some renovations done. The ceiling was falling apart and most booths had tape on them holding it together. They redid their back section to turn it into a gaming area. There was only one waitress and one cooked when we went but it wasn't too busy. Our server has been there for the longest time I recognized her when we use to be more frequent visitors. She is very friendly and makes sure to check on you. The food was just okay. We got the mozzeralla sticks to start which were decent. Nice cheese pull. We ordered the broasted chicken and potatoes which takes longer to cook which is fine but it was not as crispy as it usually is and the portion size went down. I ordered a taco asked with chicken and no chili but there was still the chili on it. It's just not what it used to be.

Really enjoyed my breakfast here! I got the breakfast has with scrambled eggs and two pancakes with blueberries and whipped cream on top. Everything was very delicious. And flab. Full service was great. Would definitely recommend.

Great breakfast awesome service diminished only by FoxNoise on TV the whole time. Just what I wanted with my meal- fear, hate and BS.

Basic tasteless truck stop food. Portions are large but not big on flavor.

It's a truck stop. The service is efficient and the food is predictable. Nothing too fancy. Good after a late night of drinking.

How convenient it is? Navy graduation brought me. Lunch, breakfast & dinner. Family type of restaurant. Very convenient.…

Super convenient- they always make accommodations for large groups it's near navy bootcamp, the soups are always on point and you get so much food for your money.

The restaurant is so much bigger and livelier and were so excited to see all of their success. Definitely come early to be able to try their brisket and Tony Mac! You wont regret anything you try but those are defnitely our favorites. Oh and the ribs, if you're looking for the incredible smokey juicy flavor look no further. Any of their bbq sauces are great and pair well, but we highly recommend giving their original a go because of the perfect balance of sweet, savory, with a bit of a kick.

"Old School" customer service, Hospitality and appreciation for our customers is key and loyalty goes both ways friends. I was very interested to try the food here after trying a couple items that were served at a friend's party. I asked to say Hi to the owner as a entrepreneur myself. They said they would be out shortly at my request, being my first time and spending well over $300 to try some of their dishes I was extremely insulted to see that the owner never had the courtesy to say Hello as I waited. In my world, "old school" customer service is success because without customers you have nothing. I also believe that you should always remember where you came from. The food was very pricey for the Area and not worth the disrespect I felt. After this experience I'll stay with Hecky's in Evanston where we are recognized, greeted by name and given a positive everything when I walk in by the owners Daughter, Gigi...RIP Senior. Hecky's is located North Shore with more than fair prices, above par food and traditional style barbecue. Big Ed's is in Waukegan and we paid double plus for the food and a very poor customer service experience ‍ along with overpriced barbecue and sides. I got lots of sauce for not enough barbecue. If I could have cancelled I would have but it was the first time and the last time. I asked one last time "What happened to the owner who was supposedly was going to say Hello?" They said he left through the side door because he was busy. His picture is on a large sign outside and this man was at Aldi when I stopped for apples on the way back home to Arlington Heights. Go to Hecky's in Evanston, Smoque in Chicago, even Joe's Barbecue in Hillside. Good Luck Big Ed!!!

I went here with a group of 5 via a reservation. We were immediately welcomed and greeted by a wonderful host who sat us and explained the menu options and recommended we try everything. After dinner we popped into the other side of the bar which is an art gallery and the bartender was so friendly, welcoming and fun! The space has a chic, moody vibe with dark walls, colorful artwork throughout, and plenty of personality. There's also a patio outside, making it a nice option for a summer evening. I could definitely see this being a fun spot for date night or getting together with a group of friends. Quick note if you're planning a visit: Lucky Duck is closed Sunday-Tuesday, so plan accordingly! We had to try their famous Bourbon Slushee -- and YES, it lives up to the hype! Made with Tennessee whiskey, sweet tea, and lemon, it's light, refreshing, and perfect for a summer evening. Definitely a must-try! For food, we ordered the Duck & Bacon Wontons, Teriyaki Beef, and Coconut Shrimp Bao Buns. Coconut Shrimp Bao: My favorite of the dishes we tried. The coconut shrimp paired really well with the sweet chili sauce and scallions. The flavors were nicely balanced, with just enough sweetness from the coconut and chili sauce. Teriyaki Beef: Tender and flavorful, although it was a little on the salty side for my taste. Duck & Bacon Wontons: Flavor was good, but these honestly reminded me a lot of a crab Rangoon. If you're a crab Rangoon fan, you'll probably enjoy these! One other fun detail: Lucky Duck has a gallery next door that doubles as a boutique event venue, which makes this area a fun little spot to check out before or after dinner. Overall, a cute Lake Forest spot with a fun atmosphere, refreshing cocktails, and some unique bites. And that Bourbon Slushee? Don't skip it!
