You could drive past this place a hundred times without giving it a second thought. It's tucked into a small strip mall, the dining room is no frills and if someone told me it was just another average neighborhood Chinese restaurant, I'd probably believe them. My only complaint was that it leaned a little saltier than I prefer, but it was still very good. The Hainan chicken was the surprise of the meal. Perfectly tender with an incredible ginger sauce that I'd happily put on just about anything. Even the dishes I normally avoid won me over. I've never been much of a lotus root person, but theirs was crisp, savory and honestly delicious. The wontons were another highlight. Since we skipped the noodles, they generously gave us extra wontons instead, which was a really thoughtful touch. What really pushed this place from good to memorable, though, was the staff. We were there with our two and four year old and they couldn't have been kinder. They brought over little toys to keep the kids occupied, checked on us throughout the meal and made us feel genuinely welcome. None of it felt forced. It was just warm, thoughtful hospitality and that's something I always remember long after I've forgotten exactly what I ate. The bathroom situation isn't ideal, you have to use the one outside the restaurant, but that's really my only complaint beyond the slightly salty chow fun. This isn't the place I'd recommend for date night or a long evening out. Think we found our new Chinese restaurant that serves local favorites, that are tasty, for a good price, in a comfortable and casual setting, with pretty good service, and all fairly close to home. Wife and I came around 2:00 for a late lunch. Usually places are much slower during this and it's a hit and miss for service and spread of food coming out. There was only one other table, two top, and that thought came to mind. However, we were promptly seated, given menus, and shortly after ice waters. Not gonna lie, Instagram got me on this one. I was so intrigued by the flying noodle that this made it on my list so I can go there during my vacation in Oahu. That was the first thing we ordered and the waiter asked if we've had it before so they could make sure that they presented it as the picture show it. I finally made it back to Fun Station after 2 years; this time, I came with my extended family. Decorations inside have remained the same; however, the arrangement of the tables has since changed.
