Food is fantastic. It's the most unique restaurant that offers so many different types of food in quality.

Though my grandmother used to love and shop at the long closed dundalk location, so I grew up with Santoni's. Oddly enough, if I look out my apartment window, I can see the building where the dundalk store once resided. We needed a pie, because it was pi day. In the past, Jeremy and I have visited much larger, chain grocery stores on pi day, we've come up empty-handed. Santoni's did not disappoint. We got a gorgeous lemon meringue pie, and it was discounted several dollars, which made it all the sweeter. The store is small, but clean with an air about it that suggests that the owners are proud of it. They should be.

If you are waiting, browse the aisles for excellent made-on-premises baked goods and a variety of pantry staples different and more upscale than found in conventional grocery stores. There is no place to sit down and eat; maybe Santoni's missing a bet through this decision? Yes, Santoni's will separate you from your money (an Oatmeal canister is double the cost found in a full-sized grocery), but you will be happy with anything they make here from scratch, and your stomach will be too. In the past they also have done a top-notch job with catering orders. If you are ordering an office lunch, look no further!

My son just picked up the order from then and it was horrible…read more The worst experience I ever had with any restaurant. I was warry about fried oysters but decided to get them. It appeared that my worries were not without the ground. Fried oysters were looking like little burned dark brown pieces. Sweet potatoes were undercooked previously frozen ones. Pizza fries were overcooked and really mushy. Fries with gravy were totally burned dark brown in color (even after removing gravy the potatoes themselves were burned dark brown color. Cheese-bread (more like cheese toasts) were made out of slices of soft white bread with cheese not fully melted and the bottom of the bread not even slightly crisp. Pizza made out of store-bought crust, undercooked and the cheese was not melted completely. Subs and wings were the only stuff that was somewhat edible. Like my son put it on the scale from 1 to 10 they would be 5. Most of the food was just slightly warm, not hot, even though we picked it up in the exact time they said it will be done. Super disappointed. Will never shop at this store again!

Price was very reasonable at $7.99 and the wrap was very tasty! Made to order wrap with about a 10 minute wait! All wraps do come with fries at no additional charge. Everything was properly seasoned and worked together very well from a flavor standpoint. Comes with the lamb, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onion, and Tzatziki sauce which I ordered on the side. I may have found a new place for lunch now. They have a flyer when you come in with pickup specials as well as delivery specials. They feature subs, wings, pizza, pasta, salads, and more. I look forward to trying more items on the menu.

Finding the restaurant itself was easy, but parking was another story -- the one‑way street and…read moresmall lot made it a challenge. When we walked in, the cashier immediately asked whether we were dining in or taking out. We chose to dine in. We ordered the roast beef sandwich and the pastrami sandwich, along with potato pancakes. They brought out a full assortment of pickles and pickled vegetables. Unfortunately, they only offer one diet option: Dr Pepper Zero, no other diet sodas from the fountain or in bottles. The potato pancakes were a disappointment -- mostly batter with very little shredded potato. The pickled vegetables also lacked flavor and didn't really taste pickled. Our table wasn't cleared at any point during the meal, and the waiter stood nearby waiting for us to finish, which felt a bit uncomfortable. The desserts looked amazing, but we were too full to try them. We also couldn't take anything to go since we had plans for the rest of the day and didn't want it sitting in the car. Next time, we'll come back specifically to try the desserts.

However, as you know it slowly deteriorated until I stopped patronizing it. I was initially happy to see it changed ownership. Reading the reviews however, it seems it is continuing to be SUBPAR! The Management apologies are scripted(cut & paste) for goodness sakes!! I think I'll pass! Fortunately, when I go back home periodically, I have several solid authentic options.

Decided to tag along to Maria's yesterday…read more Parking was not a hastle. I entered at the bar area. Was not greeted however upon exiting bar area to the quieter dining area I was quickly greeted. There were multiple large parties occuring one upstairs (actual party as its their reserved party area) and another in the side dining ares. So there was a bit of louder but reserved noise at time. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a Paloma spirited (on the bar special board in the bar area), grilled octopus, a side greek salad. All came out within reason. However, I had to send back my order of grilled octopus as it was OVER cooked and extremely tuff/rubberly. I then ordered ziti with blackened chicken and extra mozzarella. This came out hot and within reason. The portion was huge. Its more then enough for 2 plus people. So tasty and delicious. I then ordered the island mule (from the bar special board) so enjoyable.

I enjoyed my meal but for the uneven temperatures. I would have like everything hotter. The potatoes were hot, the roasted vegetables were warm and and the cod was tepid. I A guest ordered the cream of crab soup and it came out warm so was sent back. All those who got the crab cake were delighted. 3 crab soups were enjoyed and I ended up with 2 great appetizers: the oven fried octopus & the lamb chops , very meaty and a pleasant surprise. One guest got eggplant and spaghetti. Since we are expecting a snow storm I have two doggie bags the Papillion will not be sharing. We were in a room with another much larger party, we were a party of 7. They were louder than us but we had no complaints as we had no problem hearing each other. The building Maria's is in apparently was a former karaoke bar and before that a lovely house. The menu is eclectic : Italian, Greek, Chesapeake Bay &, some Mexican food thrown in. My biggest complaint is the uneven temperature of the food. The kitchen might wish to get their act together. Meanwhile, this weekend at home I'll be eating my delicious cod & vegetables and maybe some spaghetti another night. One more plus: very accommodating as far as adjusting the plates for those lactose & butter intolerant
