The food was great part of our party got the buffet and part ordered dishes. The buffet had good options and was cooked great. The dish that was ordered took a while. We were all done and ready to go by the time the other half of our table received their food. The rice was bland could have used a little more flavor. Service was slow. We waited at the front for 15 mins before anyone even talked to us. Then we're out in the corner and didn't get a refill on our drinks for at least 30 mins and then I had to go to the register to pay as our server didn't come back. Cool place in the middle of nowhere. We were up for a wedding at one of the local ranches and needed some dinner the night before. We chanced upon this place and were not disappointed. Mongolian BBQ was good and a good deal. My husband ordered one of the meals instead and we also got some calamari to split. (I'd pass on the calamari). Service was good too. It pains me to write a negative review for the fist time of one of my favorite restaurants. A simple order of chicken chow mein was sent out in a manner that was obvious to the cook to be unacceptable was sent out just the same. One or two scorched noodles can slip by when you're busy but to send out an order where almost all of them are scorched and burnt is inexcusable. No moisture to the order topped off a total waste of money. At the current cost of fuel, customers cannot afford to make trips back and forth for poor service. The above was my order only. The crab wontons were overcooked, the calamari was rubbery and the egg rolls were dripping with grease needless to say no one was happy with dinner. You get to choose all your ingredients which is pretty cool however, if your like me who does not know how much sauce or soy sauce to put you'll be pretty unhappy with your choices. Never going back. My 8 year old ordered the all you can eat grill, got one bowl of noodles with chicken, and was not allowed to bring the leftovers home from that one bowl. I asked why and they said it was "policy" which we as the consumer were not aware of. My husband had eaten there before and they let him bring his home, so I asked if they would make an exception this once and they said no, so I asked to speak to the manager and they sad I would have to call back on Wednesday. The food is good, good atmosphere, and normal buffet, the problem is when you spend 12$ on a dinner trip to buffet - they don't let you keep the leftovers. I had an upset stomach but was 75% done and they still insisted that I finish or they throw it away. For those unfamiliar with "Mongolian BBQ", I'll give you a quick lesson. For those that already know, skip ahead a little. For Mongolian BBQ, you become the major part of your meal's success. You begin at one end of a long "salad bar" looking piece of furniture. You grab a bowl and fill it with a variety of raw meats, noodles, vegetables, sauces, etc. At the end, you hand your bowl to a cook who then dumps it out onto a large, round grill. He usually adds some water to it also. The cook used two long, wood sticks to play with your food while walking around the round grill. At the end, the cook performs a "dismount" and scoops the mixture into a fresh bowl and hands it back to you. You take the bowl back to your table and wait for it to cool down and eat it. Meanwhile, you enjoy the appetizers and rice brought to the table while you filled the bowl. Fusion Grill is like most other Mongolian BBQ places, except that it is exceptionally clean, and it is located in Valley Springs. The black granite-ish tables are good sized, and always clean. Never sticky! Most of the seating is comfortable, although the booths near the cash register are pretty worn out and you will need a chiropractor to realign your spine if you make the mistake of 'plopping' into your seat. I did it ONCE. Staff is superb, and get your order right. If they are busy, expect to wait for nearly everything, that is just simple physics. The selection of ingredients in the Mongolian BBQ line is an 8 out of 10. All of the vegetables are really fresh, and flavorful. On occasion, you'll see some less than fresh tomatoes, but not often. Almost every night, meats include beef, chicken, lamb, pork, and shrimp. I don't eat meat, so I always pass those up. It is only on weekends that you will find rice noodles in addition to the wheat noodles available every day. I happen to prefer rice noodles, and they are very happy to take my bowl into the back and cook it with rice noodles any day, upon request. Now, here's some admittedly picky things to watch for- At Fusion, they will usually cook 2 bowls of food at the same time (2 cooks walking around the grill). If there is someone behind or in front of you, chances are good that some of their food will eventually mix with yours. If your "neighbor" has shrimp in their bowl and you are allergic, you'll have to wait until you're the last one (and request the grill be cleaned before they cook yours), or request to have your food cooked on the standard grill in the kitchen. Same goes if you don't like spicy and someone before or behind you has heaps of chili oil on their food. Staff might seem irritated by such requests, but once they get to know you and understand why, they never complain. MSG (MonoSodium Glutamate)- Almost all of their sauces contain MSG. If you're like me (MSG sensitive), then avoid the sauces and make sure you shake ALL of the water off the veggies you put in your bowl. The cooking oil and sesame oil seem to be free of MSG. Their bathrooms are spotless, which tells you a LOT about a restaurant (in my opinion). Kitchen looks clean, from what I can tell looking through the portholes in the swing doors. I have not yet been invited in for an inspection. My only die-hard Mongolian BBQ fan complaint is that they do not offer tofu as an option. I asked about it once and was told that they don't offer it because it would stick to the grill. I informed the lady that many, many other Mongolian BBQ places (I visit LOTS of them) do offer tofu, and I have never seen it stuck to the grill. I was informed that the customer is not always right, request denied! Oh well, other than that, the place totally rocks. After dinner, you simply MUST have a piece of their chocolate cake. I have no idea where they get their cake from, but I kid you not- Fusion Grill has the best chocolate cake I have ever tasted in my entire life. No exaggeration, no kidding. BEST chocolate cake, ever. It is absolutely the highlight of any dinner- if you have room. Ordering off the menu is a good idea if you want to try more traditional oriental food options. Everything I have had off the menu was good (remember to request NO MSG!). The complimentary egg flower soup is extremely filling, so if you want to pig out on the Mongolian BBQ (free refills during dinner), tell them you'll skip the soup. Fusion Grill is among the top 2 places I think of if entertaining some out-of-town company. If the ventilation was better, they didn't add MSG to nearly everything, and they had tofu, it would be a strong 5 stars for sure. UPDATE: Spoke to owner while dining at Fusion last night. The "killer" booth has been replaced, and they are working to improve ventilation. 5 stars now! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. We ordered food to take home. No big deal. Get everything home, and our sweet and sour chicken is missing the sauce. So we pretty much just got deep fried chicken. Ok.......fine......it sucks yeah but we can manage. Now........Here's the reason for my rating. WE FOUND A COCKROACH IN OUR FRIED RICE. Oh yes. A cockroach. IN our food. In the fried rice. Not on top, not on the bottom, but mixed in there. NO. Just no. Never again. The Mongolian BBQ is always delicious. I love getting to make my own mix of fresh veggies & meat then piling on sauces & garlic. There is always a great selection of items especially vegetables. I haven't ordered off the menu that often, but I am usually very satisfied when I get Mongolian Beef or General Chicken. Last week we went in after a long day of work & I ordered wor wonton soup. It was soooo good! The bowl was stuffed with shrimp, wontons, bbq pork, tender chicken, bok choy (my favorite), carrots, & tasty broth. Really satisfying without being too heavy. The staff is always friendly & usually calls you by name which is nice! Anytime we have houseguests staying with us, this restaurant is where they always want to come! I will admit, I have never ordered off of their menu; I just go straight to the buffet. That is probably the best deal in town. I usually make myself two bowls, but afterwards you should plan on taking a 4 hour nap. It's not a good idea to go to work right after eating there; your garaunteed to fall asleep at work. I like that I have a choice of what to put in my food, that way there is no reason why it shouldn't be good. I end up spending about $14 after tipping. But you can get a bottomless soft drink, flower or sweet/sour soup, a wantan and an eggroll and your run of the buffet all for a reasonable $11. In my experience, whatever the cost for eating at the buffet, it's worth it as long as it tastes great and I can eat to my heart's content. I would definitely recommend this place if you are famished. read more
