Still the best Chinese restaurant in Beaverton for eleven years and counting. I first went close to…read morewhen it opened, and have now been back several times since the two-year closure and reopening. During that time I had wondered if they'd take the opportunity to update anything, but no, the menu, food, and even the interior are almost exactly the same! Everything I've tried has always been at least decent and usually excellent, but the lemon chicken, hand-shaved noodles, and various spicy fish dishes are particular favorites. Ideal for large groups to eat family style at the revolving tables, though the lunch specials are also great value. Even during the first few months of reopening, when the restaurant was packed and lines were out the door, somehow the service was timely, and it continues to be. Here's to many more years!

Taste of Sichuan is my family's favorite restaurant in Beaverton!…read more First of all, the vibes. We've only been since the reopening in 2025, so I have no idea what the place felt like before. But somehow this place is homey feeling, almost COZY? This feeling is very, very, very foreign to me as the vibes are usually THE LAST thing that draw me in to an authentic Chinese restaurant. It's great! Secondly, the menu is awesome. They've got the crowd pleaser dishes like honey walnut shrimp, but I most appreciate their Wild Side menu which has all the authentic stuff! They've got some bangers like the dry cooked pork intestines and the chilled bean jelly. Our go-to dishes are the Dry Fried String Beans (slaps every time) and Seafood Tofu in Hot Pot (my daughter's FAVORITE). The quality is consistent and food always comes out fast. Taste of Sichuan, thank you for existing. We will continue to be your loyal patrons!

3 out of 5 stars Lucky Garden - Salem, OR…read moreRestaurant reviews always come down to personal taste -- this one just didn't quite match ours. Small dining room with about nine tables, a TV, video lottery room, and moderately comfortable bench seating. Food: * Egg Flower Soup: Mild flavor; decent. * Hot & Sour Soup: Standard flavor, solid base -- improved after adding a couple spoons of chili oil. * Lunch Special ($11 with fried rice): A good value, though not as fresh as what we're used to around Salem. * Crab Puffs: Could use more crunch. * Fried Rice: Plain, no veggies, and on the dry side. * Spring Rolls: Crispy exterior with fresh filling -- a bright spot. * Cashew Chicken: Veggies weren't as fresh as expected. * General Tso's Chicken: Soy-sauce-forward flavor; crunchy breading, large chunks. Just okay overall. Drinks & Atmosphere: Tea is served by the cup (not a pot) -- extremely hot with pink or regular sugar packets. Takes about 20 minutes to cool enough to drink, and comes without a "hot beverage" warning. There's also a faint, odd smell in the dining area that was noticeable during our visit. Overall: Portions are larger than expected for a lunch special, and some locals clearly enjoy this spot. For us, it was average Chinese food -- okay for the price, but below the freshness and flavor we typically find at our favorite Salem restaurants.

The wontons and sui kai that they serve are good. My wife's complaint about it was that they don't give you much. My daughter's wonton noodle soup only came with 4 wontons. My beef brisket and sui kau over noodle came with 3 both 3 pieces of meat and three sui kau. We get a little more in Southern California. My wife kept complaining to me about not enough wontons and meat. The Saipan congee didn't come with very many ingredients. The food was itself was pretty good. The portion was not. Service was good. The boss lady seemed to know all her customers, and knew her customer's usual orders. It's a good place. It's not the 626 or even Richmond (Vancouver). It might be the best in the area.

We ordered Shrimp and Pork Wonton Noodle Soup and Beef Brisket Noodle Soup and Preserved Egg and Pork Congee with Chinese Donut. The food came out quickly. The Congee is so fulfilling. Lots of good ingredients to comfort the chill of the weather. Then our noodle soup came and everything was delicious. Big portions of shrimp and pork wontons. There was about six wontons in the soup. The beef brisket was delicious. Very flavorful and hearty. This is a must go for some good home cooked comfort noodle soup and congee. There are about 77 different types of wonton noodles soup and congee. Many different types of protein and you could definitely mix and match and share.
