We are constantly on the search for good italian food here in Colorado. We had a 5pm reservation and there was a line out the door at 4:55PM. We were seated immediately. Although the other servers were extremely attentive to their customers, ours was not. We had to ask for the bread basket while for everyone around us it was just brought to them. She did not check on us at all during the meal and she passed us 3x after saying she would bring us the check. As for the food...the Palisade peach bruschetta special had next to no taste which was surprising considering the slices of peaches were large. My meatball and chicken parm were very tasty. Great crust on the chicken parm. The spaghetti-awful. The pasta was so overcooked I kept trying it to make sure I was tasting it correctly. After 3 bites I was done. Al dente. It's supposed to be al dente. My husband had the lobster ravioli and it too was not good. We skipped dessert because we didn't want to take a chance on being disappointed with that too. Well that's a one and done. But the space is pretty cool.

Must get the chicken parm!! It's so good and the a huge portion. The burrata is a gorgeous presentation and super tasty. And the peanut butter chocolate pie was to die for. Those are the three things I would recommend if I was telling a friend to go! The drinks are good too and the prices are reasonable.

Stopped in for lunch today. Our server Briggs was great. Super friendly and attentive! We ordered calamari for the table that was pretty good, I had the caprese chicken sandwich with fries. I thought it was tasty, I never had one before! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the ambiance here, felt like an old timey Italian place :)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd like to come back for dinner some time for sure

We came for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and this place was hopping! The service was gracious and accommodating of our larger group size -13- of us! So much history in this area of north Denver. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant reminds us of times gone by when a long lunch was not as much of a luxury.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has many well appointed seats, booths, and tables as well as a long bar with generous seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had minestrone and a spaghetti with a very tasty meat ball. We then had spumone ice cream for dessert.

Amazing! We really enjoyed our meal here and plan to return soon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself has a fun ambience and is decorated with pictures from their mob history.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Each of the dishes we tried were delicious. -clams aglio e olio: the clams were fresh and plentiful, and the sauce had just enough red pepper to add a kick without being overpowering. -lobster ravioli: the vodka sauce on this dish was incredible. The pesto made it a touch oily, and I would probably order the dish without it in the future. The shrimp were also cooked very well and were large. -chicken Parmesan: the chicken cutlet was huge and perfectly crispy. The pasta on the side, however, was cold as if it had been pulled from the fridge (actually cold, not just room temperature). When we told our server, he took it to the kitchen to reheat quickly. The flavors of the dish were great though. -bread basket: the addition of the focaccia was unique. It had a good flavor but was pretty dry. The service was fast, and our food didn't take too long to come out even though it was busy. I would definitely recommend a reservation during the weekends, as they were completely full during most of our visit.

Best Italian spot in Denver hands down. The service was incredible, staff were all so sweet. The drinks were stellar and the food was spectacular. We will absolutely be coming back, I am so glad we found this place.

Wow wow wow. Not my first time here- but it has been about two years since I have been. The last time, was not great so I went in having mid-expectations. I was so blown away that I asked our waiter if the kitchen staff had changed. Even the bread tasted different- in a phenomenal way. We shared the antipasto chopped salad- ALSO PHENOMENAL - I had the bolognese- had a kick to it but was GREAT (I'll change my adjective) My sister had the lobster ravioli, my mom had the chicken mala(no clue how to spell) and my dad the eggplant parm- my god. Each tasted better than the next. I won't leave the desert out! The tiramisu & the limoncello cream cake was spectacular! It was crowded and loud but honestly- that was part of the entire experience. Very Italian!!!! Will be back, much sooner this time!

We went a for my brother's birthday. We all don't live to far and had heard great things. I am so glad we finally made a reservation. The portions are large, the food and restaurant is hot, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We got the Shinto peppers as an appetizer, they were as expected and no surprise spicy one. They brought us a basket of bread that was delicious but don't fill up on the bread. Because the lobster ravioli was delicious. It'll the sauce was light, paring well with the freshly made pasta. It was surrounded by large juicy shrimp. My husband got the bolognese which our waiter warmed us that "if you don't mind a little spice" you will enjoy it. My husband thoroughly enjoyed it - he cleaned the plate. My brother got the fettuccine and said it was good but not the best he has ever had. Because we were there to celebrate a birthday they brought us a tiramisu which was "chefs kiss"! We all decided we would got back to try a few other dishes that caught our eyes.

Been looking forward to visiting here with my family, made a reservation days in advance to prepare. We had 5 guests and reserved a spot at 7:15. We arrived on time, meaning a little before our time and the front was packed with patrons, no where to sit while we wait. We waited 15 min to be seated for our reservation when our table was open the whole time. There was also a point when there were three two tops next to eachother that were open and could have been made into a larger table as well. I asked when we will be seated and hostess said we have to wait for the reservation before us to be seated? Meanwhile the table we were sat at was open the whole time, this logic does not make sense to me as I was a hostess before. We got sat and the service was slow, the waitress took another 10 min before asking our drink order. The food and drinks were great but service was not the best. Also my menu was dirty and I would think a fancy establishment would have the hosts clean the menus while they're standing there or not reuse them. All in all I would go back again but maybe with the mindset that service will be slow.

We went during the lunch menu time. All the food was pretty good. Drinks too. I really liked the look of the place. Very cool inside. I thought it was a little expensive for the quality of the food. It was all good but I would have expected a little more for the price. They were also a bit understaffed. It took 10 min to get a table cleaned just because of not having enough servers. GF substitutions/options available. I would come back again if I were in the area.

Wow! I had an amazing dinner here with a friend recently. Our reservation was at 515, we showed up around 5 and there was literally a line down the street of people waiting for them to open. We got in quickly and were seated right away thankfully. The server let us know the specials and then brought us our drinks. The bartender here knows how to make a great martini, and they have blue cheese olives, my favorite! I'm not kidding when I say I think the Bruschetta here is the best I have ever had. The pasta and salad were amazing as well. I also love the old school Italian restaurant ambience they have going on, makes me feel like I'm in NYC. Definitely recommend, make sure to make a reservation though!

We had a wonderful dinner at Gaetano's! It's a cool, mobster themed restaurant with a chatty ambiance. Our server, Andrew, was great, very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and an overall nice guy to chat with. Our meal was delicious. We ordered the shrimp de jonghe for an appetizer and it was soo good. I recommend dipping the bread in! Then we each had pasta dinners, the creamy Gorgonzola was our favorite. We also got tiramisu for dessert and it was just a perfect ending to our night. Definitely recommend for some yummy Italian food!

We had a friend come in from out of town and another friend recommended this Italian restaurant. We gave it a try for lunch. I loved the ambience. From the photos to the seating to the big beautiful shotgun bar, it's just welcoming and delightful. We had meatballs and cheesy bread, meatball sub, sausage and peppers sandwich, minestrone soup, and a epically hellacious wedge salad. The food was very good. Of the things we tried, my fave was the rich and robust red sauce. I loved it Our server was well educated on the menu and guided us well. Everything was a hit. We will definitely go back. We are currently on a waitlist for a reservation for Valentine's Day dinner. In my experience, this restaurant is underrated.. they could have made changes. But for me, this is the real deal.

Is there a way to make online reservations? The website reservation link takes one to Yelp. The restaurant link on Yelp takes one back to the home page reservation link, which again, takes one back to Yelp.

Yes. They are on Open Table.

Is a reservation necessary or is it reasonably easy to get in without one?

Every time I've eaten there, it was a packed house so I would highly recommend making a reservation.

Snacks, charcuterie boards, sandwiches, salads many shareable items. The experience is all weighing on the service and that is what was lacking on my visit. The waiter showed me which side of the menu was white wine and which was red. I ordered white wine, ended up being served a glass of red. I didn't complain, just decided to be a good sport. I ordered a panini which was much smaller than the waiter described and it was cold. I ordered a full salad, he brought a half salad. Water was only served after being requested halfway through the meal, as he never came over to check on us once the order was placed. I did try repeatedly to capture his attention but I suppose we were invisible? Normally, I am a 5 star girl but this dinner was a total disaster anything that could go wrong did go wrong. One of the worst dining experiences I have had in yrs. I might give the restaurant another try as it was highly recommended to me but never on a weekend. Parking was also very difficult with limited street parking.

Shout to the team for having our table ready when we got there even though it was very busy that day. We started off with the Fall Salad and I think it was one of my favorite things we ordered. I had no idea beets can be that delicious! After that, everything else came out: roasted carrots, barramundi, and wagyu flank steak. They also put in an order or pommes frites (French fries) on accident and decided to give it to us on the house. Thanks! The roasted carrots were really good and sweet. You could tell they were quality carrots. The barramundi was another one of my favorites. I'm a fan of fish and they did an excellent job of cooking the barramundi with a great sauce(?) that tasted great with it. I found the wagyu steak flank overcooked and really salty which was disappointing given the price. The pommes frites were cooked well but also extremely salty. Overall, I would recommend Sunday Vinyl if you are trying to take someone to a place that is unique and don't mind paying a bit extra. And from that point on, from first taste, I knew my experience would be exceptional. The service was attentive without being overly attentive, and the chef's were so kind, answering every one of my weird questions about what they were preparing or ingredients that I noticed. I ordered the smoked burrata to start. The balance between the candied pistachio, artichoke pesto, and wagyu cecina really created a well balanced and unexpected dish. The burrata was creamy and the salty and sweet components balanced the aged sherry gastrique and made for an incredible intro to a beautiful performance by the chefs. Next was another small dish, which I wish I remembered the description for (I need to bring a little notebook with me), but it was a perfect segue into the next course, the ibérico presa. Wow. Just wow. White asparagus has got to be one of my favorite vegetables next to artichokes, when done exceptionally well, as they most definitely were. The piquillo peppers and pickled shallots complemented the pork, which was so soft, perfectly. I definitely died and went to heaven at this point in the meal. This is probably when I should've stopped eating because after this point, still pure delight, but my poor stomach was soooooo full. Next was another small bite to lead into my next course, also incredible. Wish I could describe it. My next course was the European sea bass. Now, sea bass is my favorite fish of all time. The perfectly crisp skin, the red onion jam, the spicy sweet balance was perfection. I loved every bite. The olive oil potatoes were a perfect complement. And at this point, I was bursting at the seems... but I still ordered dessert, because you only live once and food is one of the great joys of life. For dessert, I had the crema. The honeycomb on top, the cherries, all leading to a perfect finish. A time was had. Thanks El Five

Every restaurant review eventually collapses into one word…read more Yum. We can debate technique, texture, acidity, balance, and presentation, but every review ultimately comes down to one question: Did it make you say, "Yum"? Mescaleria Alma made me say it over and over again. I've been here several times. A recent visit wasn't just my best meal here, it was one of the best dining experiences I've had anywhere. The first thing that captures your attention is the room. A stunning wall of spirits rises behind the bar and seamlessly blends into the open kitchen, creating one continuous stage. Watching the team work is mesmerizing. Tiny containers of herbs, sauces, oils, citrus, garnishes, and countless other components come together with quiet precision. It reminds me of watching a great sushi counter. Alone, they're just ingredients. Together, they become something far greater than the sum of their parts. The hospitality begins the moment you walk in. Dominique, the general manager, welcomed me back, remembered me from previous visits, and made me feel genuinely happy that I had returned. That's increasingly rare. I always sit at the bar because that's where a restaurant makes me feel comfortable. When I first sat down, the bartender was busy and focused. Over the course of the evening, cocktails became conversations. We talked about flavors, restaurants, and what makes a memorable dining experience. By the end of the night he slid over a bartender's choice, a Corn Sour, not because I ordered it, but because he thought I'd enjoy it. He was right. That's the difference between service and hospitality. Then there was the food and the taste of the cocktails. The kitchen and bar were firing. The Clover Club cocktail was beautifully balanced and wonderfully complex. The Mollete de Mejillones with smoked mussels, scallop aioli, morita hot sauce, and fresh lemon was extraordinary. Then came the Burrata con Huitlacoche. Let's not overthink this. The tomatillo salsa verde was orgasmic. Bright. Fresh. Acidic. Alive. It elevated every bite. The Pescadilla de Marlín finished with smoky tuna, molten cheese, crisp tortilla, and a beautiful salsa that tied everything together. I've stopped trying to decide whether I like Mescaleria Alma, Alma Fonda Fina, or Alteño more. It's becoming the wrong question. Chef Curiel and his team have created restaurants with different personalities but the same DNA: creativity, precision, warmth, and genuine hospitality. As someone who has spent a career helping organizations perform better, I couldn't help but admire what they've built. One exceptional restaurant is difficult. Building several at this level is organizational excellence. Walking back to my car, I thought one thing: I'm lucky. Lucky that people devote this much imagination, discipline, and care to feeding complete strangers. Some people see a bill. I saw craftsmanship. Every penny was worth it. Thank you, Chef Curiel, Dominique, the bar team, the kitchen, and everyone at Mescaleria Alma. You reminded me that excellence still exists. And tonight... it tasted like "yum."

Very warm, welcoming and gave me great recommendations that were both personal for her but also worked with me when I wasn't sure about what to get after she recommended a few things. The food....was...SENSATIONAL. The Tostada De Toro I think every person needs to try once in their life. I feel like for whatever reason Mexican seafood is still underrated to the average person as I mentioned to Kelsey. They told me I could eat it open face or use a fork and knife so I tried it both ways starting with the first couple of bites open face. To be honest you could eat this upside down in a blizzard and it would be great, it was that damn good! The people sitting next to me giggled because I looked like I was having a foodgasm from my reaction to every bite. Then the Aguachile De Erizo had me licking my lips and then eventually drinking the "broth" (hope that's the right term) to the last drop with Kelsey's full approval hahahaha. I had never tried Uni before and what a great introduction it was. I kept finding pieces of scallops and uni in my mouth after and it was such a pleasant surprise. The Non-Alcoholic Colada I actually had first and it made be feel like I was on a beach somewhere. Delicious! The only downside to the meal was that I had to walk through the city after I left so I couldn't keep eating more which I really wanted to. But that's a blessing in disguise because I'm so excited to come back and try even more dishes that I didn't get to and I immediately recommended it to friends who live in Denver but were out of town and couldn't join me when I was there. Again cannot say enough about the service and the atmosphere which was so sexy. It felt both relaxed and accessible while still feeling upscale. (I mean I walked in with a backpack and a sleeveless shirt and didn't feel out of place or too dressed down at all. And if I was the staff didn't make me feel this whatsoever). Finally one more shoutout to the entire team for making it a great experience and make sure to ask for Kelsey as your server she's one in a million! PS my forgetful self forgot my wallet at the table and Kelsey came running out to bring it to me with a laugh and a smile. So somehow even after my meal they were still finding a way to be the best!

I've been staying at home, but was out of some of the beer I wanted to use. I went out for another errand and happened to pass by Cask and Craft. Hmmm...this sounds interesting. Plus it's a local shop, and I'm all about supporting local, particularly during this time. I pulled up Cask and Craft's website and was super happy to see the list of precautions they are taking to keep their customers safe. Some of these precautions include only 2 people in the shop at a time, use provided hand sanitizer when you enter, and even curbside pick up/delivery. Since I was sitting in front of the store, I figured I'd just go in, get what I needed, and quickly head home. I was greeted and asked to use the hand sanitizer upon entering - yes, thank you. I then explained from a distance that I was looking for a dark beer, preferably a stout. I was escorted to the back of the store and shown the fridge with all the dark beer. WOW! big selection. I had the choice of 6 packs, 4 packs, or mix and match. This was perfect for me because I needed 5 beers. I ended up selecting Jackie O's Java the Stout. When I brought up my 5 pack, the owner told me it was a great beer (one of his favorite dark beers) and that it was a solid choice. He was not wrong. This beer is awesome, and paired so well with my peanut butter cookie pairing. So good. I will definitely be back to Cask and Craft. Their shop is filled with all different types of wine, liquor, and beer. It's organized so nicely, and the shop itself has this comforting vibe when you walk in. I'm so appreciative of everything they are doing to keep customers safe and for the recommendations they give.

The store staff practices social distancing and makes sure all customers use fh sanitizer provided at the entrance. Awesome! Never ever shop and touch anything with unsanitized hands. The store is immaculate and organized! I got two bottles as a gift to Hubby's niece.
