I was a little nervous going in based on some other reviews BUT THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST PIZZA I CAN REMEMBER HAVING. It's loaded with toppings and cheese and the crust reminded me of pizza I had in Milan. Somebody else said the waitstaff was rude but they were fine to me. It's a dive bar and one of those ones where it looks like everybody knows each other. Looks like a great place to get smashed and people were saying hi to me when I went outside to vape. Go here. Look, I'm not easy to please, especially with pizza, and wings. I have not had a take away meal in over a year, big C....So, we are over here working all week, and I easily ordered on line. I have had this before, but was not as pleased, as today. I ordered 2 XL pies, and some extra crispy mild wings.. Order was right on time, pick it up and headed back.. Beautiful veggies cut nice, and meats looked yummy. The crust was the best I have had in Asheville, and I have been to several different ones, before C. My husband and I stopped in here for lunch at 11:00 on a Tuesday. The establishment wasn't busy, so seating and service was easy to get and thorough. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, not too loud at all. The music was reggae, which my husband loves, and even I enjoyed. Our server was Michelle, who's name was very easy to remember. I ordered a salad bar, which I thought was the best part of the whole meal. I love me a good restaurant with a well balanced salad bar with fresh veggies. My only criticism is that I wished the olives were whole and they had pepperoncini instead of banana peppers, but that is some serious nit picking on my part, lol. We had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, which were absolutely crispy and delicious. We ordered a medium Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza with pepperoncini. However I think the server heard wrong, because we ended up getting a pizza with Canadian bacon, pineapple and pepperoni. My husband said it was probably because they didn't have pepperoncini. No worries though, we just snagged some banana peppers from the salad bar and called it a day. The ranch dressing dip combined with the pizza reminded me of a pizza joint back home called Abby's. In fact, the entire establishment reminded me of it, with the exception of the attire. It was incredibly soothing for me to find a place that reminded me of home in this way. The pizza, just like Abby's, was "okay." There was nothing extra special about it, but it was 10 times the quality you will get at other local pizza places. I would definitely recommend this place. We will be going back just to give the wings we've heard so much about a try. Also... I read a previous review about there not being "real silverware." Pre-Covid this place was fun and had good food. Now the service is non-existent and the food hasn't been good at all. We were disappointed when the waitress rudely told us we have to go pick up our own food from the window. Why do they even have wait staff if we have to get our own food? read more

So happy to have great pizza in Enka-Candler, and this pizza is worth the short drive from Asheville proper. The crust is not quite New York thin, but it is thin and very tasty. The toppings are generous, and there are some creative pre-fab combinations or you can build your own. Everything we have tried has been delicious. The pesto chicken is the BOMB. Servers are terrific, though as noted, be prepared to wait for the pizza. This is slow food, but it is worth the wait. Hopefully, over time they will upgrade the cold, hard uncomfortable chairs and booths, create more divided seating areas, and work on the funky but sterile atmosphere. But the pizza rocks. read more

Been looking for an affordable, quality pizza place near West Asheville. Pizza was good. Ordered take out, it was about 8 minutes from my home. They don't deliver to West Asheville, they suggested to order on their site which does deliver. I entered my order and they were charging a $10 delivery fee. I wasn't having it. Also ordered the fried cheese sticks and they were good, but weren't hot by the time I got home 10 minutes after picking them up. We ordered the cheese bread, it was so good even my wife liked the marinara sauce which is unusual. There were 5 different pizzas ordered and each one was amazing. They have a vegan option which is always great when we have a child with food allergies. Absolute fan. We have been 4 times since the remodel and seem to find something new every experience. The little arcade doesn't leave much room to maneuver but the kids seem to love it. Mom and dad get to have a tasty beverage waiting on an excellent meal while in eyeshot of the quarter thiefs. All 4 times we have been we have tried something different and they never disappoint. For so long when we moved to Asheville we seemed to have gotten poor service, but I have to say the staff at Galactic Pizza really make sure your service is great. This place always does a great job. Even throughout Covid 19 times. That being said, there's been more than one time that I've ordered a pizza and the bottom is burnt. I totally get if it's a one off situation, but this has happened at least four separate occasions. I don't know if it's the oven being too hot or the type of semolina they're using but it gets burnt. It's nothing that would deter me from going for other things there, however I now typically ask them to make sure the crust of the pizza isn't burnt ( meaning no black areas on the bottom of the pie). read more

We got our first pizzas from here last night (a chicken pesto and a meaty one). I called in my order and picked them up to take home. This location has changed hands at least a couple of times in the last couple of years, but this time it looks very promising. There's now a full bar in the center of the dining room (instead of a load of empty space), and they've put some thought into the decor and fixtures. There's even a row of high stools outside for the summer months. Pizzas that have travelled home in the car for twenty minutes might not be the best first impression, but I'm pleased to say they were great: plenty of toppings; well-cooked and hot throughout - and tasty. This might be the best pizza on this side of town, and we'll definitely be back - maybe to eat in next time... keep it up, guys! read more

We also got the side salad which was huge! Red Onions (too many for my taste but I took them off no problems), cucumbers, tomatoes, grated cheese, spinach and iceberg which is a lot for a $4 side salad. My friend and I stopped by and had one of their delicious sandwiches with a side of spinach salad. The place has both inside and outside dining - plenty of space. I thought the service was great - we were served by the bartender as we arrived early - right at 5 pm. They have great pizzas, but we had their interesting broiled chicken sandwich with a variety of vegetables. It was moist and delicious. I hear they have a trivia night and I'd like to go back and hang out for that. Plenty of parking and a very relaxed, easy going vibe. I live in West Asheville. On our way to Murrells Inlet, SC for the holidays and stopped in Asheville for the night. The hotel recommended this place so we thought we would give it a try. We were worn out from getting up early and hitting the road, so we wanted good food with little hassle. I got on my Yelp app and found it, figured out what we wanted and I called. The girl that answered said I had to order online. That chapped my ham. I begged her to take it over the phone, reluctantly she did. The food was very very good. My wife is GF and was very happy with their option, which is hard to do when it comes to pizza. On a side note I'm not 100% sure how we got to the total cost, it seemed very high. We ordered three pizzas that were no more than $17 each and it ended up being over $75 total. Maybe it was a delivery fee and a fee for me being a pain in the ham. read more

My wife & I stopped here for the first time. We ordered a large pie to go and while we were waiting we decided to have a drink and an appetizer. I had the Spaceballs, which is sausage, ham & pepperoni with cheese wrapped into a dough ball and deep fried and then sprinkled with grated cheese. So good. My wife had the mild chicken wings. They have a nice menu with appetizers, salads, sandwiches and pizza. There were no pasta dishes on the menu but they do run specials with pizza and beer as well as other specials. They have a large selection of draft and bottled beer along with wines. The inside of the place has a nice sized seating area with booths and tables and there is a large U shaped bar. The employees were very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a good pizza, this is your place. It's also a nice place to sit and have a pizza and beer by yourself, with friends or on a date. Wow, I am so glad to have a great pizza spot so close to my house. There's really nothing in this part of Enka so I'm hoping Galactic will start a trend of better restaurants opening up! Their wings are terrific and offer lots of sauce options, I highly recommend the cauliflower appetizer as well. The pizza is great and you get a huge portion for the price. They have a wide selection of local beers too, which is great. Service was excellent but it took a while to get seated because the host was taking an to-go order instead of putting us up at a table.
