Me and a girlfriend came before the movies for a quick bite. We didn't want to get stuffed because movie popcorn is a requirement. I LOVE their big mugs for their tea. Wish I had these at home. We started with some gyoza and we both had soup. The Tom Yum was so yummy! And it was perfect for the cold rainy day we were having. Service was great! Very attentive and patient with us. We'll definitely be back to have an actual meal. Everything looked delicious!

I got to try out this Thai spot for a late day lunch. The venue is pretty spacious with clean cut traditional decor, a large bar, and ample wooden seating throughout the space. Their menu features typical apps like chicken satay, gyoza, and chicken wings, and entrees like pineapple fried rice, soft shell crab, pad broccoli, and drunken noodles with prices ranging around $10-$25 per item. I sat at the bar as the place was packed (clearly a hotspot for lunch in the area), and ordered an apple martini and shrimp fried rice. No complaints with service the server was friendly and attentive even given how busy the restaurant was. The food came out swiftly, and the presentation was excellent, however the rice itself a bit underwhelming, the shrimp size was appreciated but the rice overall lacked much flavor. On a positive note the apple martini was one of the better ones I've had at a Thai restaurant.

Ambiance/environment: very aesthetically pleasing and clean - the only surprise was that it was empty during lunch hour on a weekend... Food: generally good, I got a massaman curry and found it to be more sour than sweet which I am not used to with a flavor profile. Might depend on where you get thai/how you make it, but I wished it was sweeter Service: super fast!

First time visiting and the decor is amazing. The service was fast and friendly. I had the pad Thai with tofu and extra veggies and it was prepared well. I will definitely recommend this place after a movie which is across the street

I love the food here! It's a good spot for a meal before catching a movie across the street. The service is fast, and food is very flavorful. I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. The decor is really nice. The restrooms are always clean. The chairs are a little in the high side. If your legs are bigger than average, they will touch the underside of the table.

The duck had me going, "quack." Was that funny? I hope so, I worked on that joke all night still couldn't get it right. I got one of them ice teas, what you call them? Oh yeah, a thai iced tea. It was good, until it was done in like two or three seconds. I was like d***, really? Can you put anymore ice? Maybe it was the cups, they were so small. So small in fact that you'll finish your drink in two or three seconds. I mean look at the picture, I was done with it after two bites of food. I know, I eat a little bit before I take the picture. It's my style, got to have a style right? Anyways, for that, 4 stars.

Not impressed, and quite honestly disappointed. Ok. So there's free parking but that's probably the highlight. We were greeted pleasantly and seated but after that I feel service went dry. I will say the ambience is very nice but the food did not cut it, and for the price I expected much better. My wife's $19 curry was more of a soup (and a small one at that) with essentially no meat. We counted 2 tiny pieces of red bell pepper for vegetables. She was extremely disappointed. My recommended galae noodles were nothing to boast about. For appetizers we got the garden herb rolls, which were just vegetables rolled in rice wraps. To be fair, that's what showed on the menu so I can't complain.

I'm happy we found this Thai restaurant. It's located in a small strip mall and though the free parking out front was pretty full, there were always a few spots open. We came here for a quick lunch stop because I was craving khao soi. The decor inside is fun and a little dark. They have women's and men's bathrooms. The women's had two stalls inside. Our server was kind and quick to get our orders. My partner got the duck salad. He enjoyed it and ate every last bite. My khao soi was huge and I was able to take some home for leftovers. It was rich and sweet and had the perfect amount of spice for me. If you're on 95 and looking for a quick bite to eat this is a good stop.

First off the service was impeccable! Kind staff who are quick to ask questions, order food and drinks , and quick to make our order. I cannot say enough great things about this location. The restaurant was elegant and clean! If I could give them more stars I would

Galae Thai has been in business for 20 years. I've passed this restaurant several times not knowing it was there. After watching a movie at AMC 24, we decided to ventured across the street for a nice restaurant. I was craving Thai so I was eager to give them a try. This restaurant 's ambiance was peaceful and unhurried. From the statues to the music, we felt like we were immersed in the Thailand culture. The server was pleasant. We already knew what we wanted because we viewed the menu outside. The food came in 10 minutes after placing the order. I'm no Thai food expert, but I always order the common dishes: pad Thai and drunken noodles. In my opinion, if you can't get that right, you are good with me. My husband ate all his food and I ate most of mine. The only thing missing for me was the red tofu. I love red tofu. The pad Thai meal I had included large chucks of fried tofu instead of red tofu. Only bummer. This restaurant would be a great place for a date night, dinner with a friend or a take out option. I will return but I can't promise to venture outside of my staple Thai dishes.

Probably the best Thai food I've had! Quiet and relaxing space. Bathroom is pretty dark and you need to be let into it. Good portions and amazing taste! Waiter was nice and had our food come out at a nice pace.

The drunken noodles were good and so was the mango and sticky rice, but the portions were just extremely small for the price... they skimped especially on the sticky rice and mango I would go somewhere else, very disappointed in the serving sizes.

They walked us to our table and was so accommodating. On an extremely hot day like today (103F) it was refreshing to walk into a nice cool and nicely lit and decorated place. It was very relaxing. The parking was off the street and is free for 2 hours. There were plenty of spots available just at the front of the restaurant. We ordered the Whole Fried Flounder and the Massaman Curry with shrimp and for dessert the Magnolia Creme Crepe. I am partial to good Crepe dessert... and this place offered different selection. A plus! The food was freshly prepared and was very tasty. I would recommend trying this place out. You will not be disappointed.

4 stars for the food 4 stars for the ambiance…read more3 stars for the service on the water refills, which was sporadic at best. Last night I brought a couple of friends over to the Sisters Thai in Alexandria ... because I had had good experiences in the past. We were seated at our table of four, and had to wait 20 mins to be served water from the start. That was unusual - and although the restaurant was busy it was not packed, so the delay was odd. We ordered the food which was great - high recommendations for the branzino, the crispy eggplant, the roti curry and the mango & sticky rice. The water service was challenging; at one point during the meal when a server came to do a refill, she spilled the water on the table near the food dishes - apologized - but didn't clean up! (It was not a few drops - it was a sizeable amount that warranted wiping up since our group had to reach over for the food dishes in the center). She took off after right after spilling it - and didn't come back! So I eventually caught the eye of another sever and asked for the water to be wiped down. The evening went on - the meal really noteworthy ... but water was clearly becoming more and more of an issue - and this was critical especially considering that the roti curry was spicy! After yet another 20 minutes of trying to catch the eye of anyone with a pitcher I had to get up and request water from the bar area. So although the evening was pleasant it was somewhat disruptive with this lack of coordination - which is really is a basic of any establishment. I would go back again for the food - although I'm disappointed that I brought friends along to try the restaurant and the service was not as expected. As I write this I want to add that if it was a one-off with a water delay I would understand - but it was consistently overlooked, without a spillage being wiped promptly that started to create a less than satisfactory experience. Thank you in advance to the Sisters Thai for more training for their staff on enhancing the customer experience.

Set in Alexandria, off the 495 corridor, is Pasara Thai restaurant featuring a casual dining experience and vibe with interesting tables with wood carvings and artwork throughout. The Tom Yum was solid and quite flavorful, a flux of tangy lemongrass with the oniony sweetness of steeped scallions, and enoki mushrooms to provide some heartiness. The Pad Thai Mun Goong was a chef specialty pad Thai made with stir fried rice noodle, prawns shrimp tomalley oil (a crucial element for this version), egg and bean sprouts, naturally topped with green onions, peanuts and a lime for squeezing, and this also was quite phenomenal. Savory, sweet, a little tingle of sourness from the citrus in the mid-palate, and the juicy, briny shrimp balancing the dense carbs and rich flavorful sauce. The wontons were packed with pork and came with a tasty bright red dipping sauce that complimented the wontons nicely. The Mongolian Beef and Mongolian Chicken are the same dish, with the only difference being the meat. These dishes were very well prepared with just the right amount of onion, scallion and sauce. The beef had a delicious slightly smoky flavor and was cut into nicely shaped pieces. The Mongolian dishes automatically come with white rice.
