What a joke of an experience. My girlfriend and I showed up right at 3 for our 3 o'clock appointment. They hardly greeted us so we just started looking for polish. Found polish and by the time 3:15 came around I decided to go grab a coffee. Took me 10 minutes and in that time they gave away my girlfriend and I's spots and then seated us. We waited with our feet in the water for 20 minutes without being acknowledged so I just left. My girlfriend still got her toes done but they ended up looking terrible. Meh. This place has lost a lot of staff, and has gotten worse because of it. They've been making the appointments so rushed lately. One of the girls who did my nails, always super sweet & does a great job was asking another employee if she could take her break after she finished with me so she could go eat. My nail tech complained how she barely had time to eat earlier because of how busy they've been. Felt bad, poor girl needed a break. Most recent & last time I went with a friend, she got a fill - I got a removal & new set of acrylics. Not even 2 weeks after our appointments, we had both already broken nails (I ended up having 1 broke, another one lifting). Several friends & I have been coming here for over a year with exceptional service but had quickly noticed how its been lacking. Ended up going to a different nail salon after my 2 broken nails, and they said they (Galaxy) did the acrylics way too thin which is why they were breaking, and ended up recommending I get a whole new set (despite having gotten a new one less than 2 weeks ago). Super disappointed because I loved Galaxy. read more

Lac, the owner is one of the many people who has done my nails at Galaxy Nails, he is extremely talented & takes his time with all clients. He's been doing my nails for about a decade & I've never been unsatisfied!!! I honestly haven't been able to find a better place than Galaxy Nails, they're welcoming & kind, & they get you out as quickly as possible without doing a sloppy job:) I highly recommend giving them a try because all of the staff are sweet & they do an amazing job, plus they treat you like a close friend they've known for years. Not impressed by the work OR the customer service.. literally just needed a color change. And look at how ugly these are... she painted one nail and I mentioned I did not like the color on my skin.. she clearly had an attitude, and didn't understand when I asked her to pick another color from behind her on the wall. I ended up sticking to this ugly color because she seemed annoyed. The vibe in here was off!! I don't know if it's because I'm black or what.. but they definitely gave me crazy looks as soon as I entered with no customer service or greeting... I felt foreign. I left out after paying and forgot my drink. Went back inside and they gave nothing but SILENCE while they stared like to say, "why tf is she back.." but they literally said nothing as I walked past to grab my drink. It was so awkward that I literally had to say, "just forgot my drink..." still no response or greeting. WEIRD!! And now I'm going elsewhere to have this redone CORRECTLY!! A waste of 22$. I really wanted to like this salon. Oh but it was so bad. First off, the good. It's clean, modern, and the owner is very nice. I was warmly greeted and sat right down at my appointment time. But I didn't get him, I think I got his auntie or mom. A mature lady that I'm not sure is even a licensed nail tech. She sat me down at the end, told me to put my feet in the water for the pedicure. The water was cold. She started the pedicure by filing off the old gel polish. First with a rotary drill, then with a emery board. The first time she cut me, I bled. This happened on accident I know and I smiled and blew it off. It happened because she kept dragging the sharp edge of across my very dry cuticles. Once my feet were soaked she begin to dig out the sock funk and lent that collects under the nail. Each time she pulled the toe fuzz-lent out, she'd look at me like I was disgusting, and repeat. So awkward !! My gel mani started with her asking me if I wanted to replace my set. I said no just a gel mani, my nails are/were naturally long and healthy. She soaked and filed the old color off and cut me again in the exact fashion. I finally asked her to not used the nail file on my cuticle... read that part again.... asked her to not use the nail file on my cuticle?! Come on!! Once my healthy nails were filed down smooth and paper thin, she painted. That's where it got worse. Thick, tacky paint with bubbles and color dragged down to my ragged cuticle, pooled up and cured. She slathered me tea tree lotion too thick to rub in and handed me a single tissue to remove the excess. Kinda how you'd wipe the Excess mayonnaise off a sandwich. This entire process took two hours!! I went in because of the positive reviews, boy was that misleading. Then to add insult to injury at the very end of the whole debacle she followed me up to the front where payment is expected stood there and prompted me to leave her a tip I had to ask her to step away so I could finish the transaction without her breathing over my shoulder. I have never been hurt humiliated and disappointed all in one trip to my local salon I will never return! read more

Staff really nice, environment nice and clean, prices reasonable. But the foot exfoliating wasn't the greatest. And my mani/pedi started chipping after 3 or 4 days , when they usually last at least a week for me, a pedi even longer. And that's while I'm working ie using my hands a lot more. I live in Los Angeles and was visiting on vacation... maybe the colder weather has something to do with it? But I've gotten mani/pedis in WA in the winter before and they've lasted a lot longer so I don't think that's it... read more

I came in at 2:25 for a 2:30 appointment and waited for 35 minutes until someone worked on me- granted I was 5 minutes early. When I sat down, no one gave me colors to choose from for 10 minutes. What's the point of making an appointment when I'm going to wait 35 minutes? Would have been happy going to another salon who would have taken me as a walk in or at minimum honored my appointment time. My daughter and I came in here to get a gel manicure for her 18th birthday. We didnt need an appointment and were able to sit next to each other which was great. Both of the people (a guy and a girl) who gave us our services were unfriendly and actually a tad on the rude side. The man working on my daughter actually said in a very stern rude voice "don't move!!" but my daughter was not moving. The gal working on my service flicked my fingers several times because apparently my fingers moved or didn't magically disappear so she could work on one finger at a time? I am not sure, but it was not a pleasant way to celebrate or spend time. I am low maintenance and did nothing wrong and didnt undestand this treatment. It was as if they were annoyed by us. They sure didnt mind taking our money when it was over though. I loved their fingernail polish choices and they techincally did a good job on both of us. The place is modern, clean, well ventilated, and warm. I guess if you don't mind being scolded like a child or having your fingers flicked or moved roughly, this is the place for you. Unless we had different people performing our services, we would't come back. read more

I am extremely disappointed in my nails. I had them done today. my friend and I both Got dip nails. from the beginning of the service I could tell that my nail tech was in a hurry. she kept asking me if I had tips and I told her no they were my real nails ( they were thick and healthy) she clearly didn't belive me bc she drilled my nails down and kept looking under my nails for where the tip would be. I have also never had such a poor job before my nails are lumpy and rough all of which she noticed before she even did the top coat but did the top coat anyways. when I was done she moved me so I could dry and immediately sat a new person down in the same chair I was in no wiping or sanitizing between clients here. it was so dust and dirty when we went in. my nails look like crap. I wasn't pleased at all with the service I got. we also paid extra to have a manicure with our dip and didn't even receive lotion or a hand massage. I do not recommend. read more

Stopped by here while visiting my parents from SF. I just needed to take my SNS powder off and get a new set but the lady convinced me to use my real nails because they were long enough. I was concerned if I just put gel my nails would be too thin so she suggested doing an overlay and then using the gel nail polish over. An overlay is basically the powder they use when they put acrylics on your nails to even it out. I like the thickness of it because I work with my hands. I'm going to start doing this concept back at home but will definitely stop by this place the next time I am in the area. read more

Just a couple hours later my thumb nail on my hands start peeling off ans so i went back and got it fixed. New management. Long waits and they don't honor appointments. I gave them 3 tries thinking they were having an off day- the guy rushes, one one occasion cut cuticles too low-bleeding! Another time he broke my nail is he rushed the filing. Last Weeknd waited over two hours with an appointment. I am patient, but that was the end of that. The tables were dirty in pedi area and they didn't wipe down mani are between clients. Poor customer service. read more

Very nice interior, Everything feels sanitary. The pedicure chairs are nice and the massage feels very good, although it did turn off before my pedicure started lol. They have a lot of awesome pedicure options including lotion, scrubs, and nice smelling oils. My feet feel great however my polish on one of my big toes is a bit wonky. However the nails look great and the color really came out nice. Unfortunately they don't have tv near enough to the pedicure stations so if your by yourself you will need to turn to your phone! They give you complimentary water and they have high chew candy up front! will give this place another shot forsure. read more

I was very disappointed in the service I received. In fact, I was treated poorly, overcharged and given inferior quality work. They didn't have the first 2 color choices for gel powder dip I requested. I was rushed through trying to pick a color after the first choice. Tech clearly roled her eyes and spoke to her colleagues in their native language several times. They brought me a color that was not what I asked for and tried to convince me it was. I finally decided to change my request from a powder gel color to a brush on gel over a clear powder just to make it easier for them. Then, they only put one layer of color on despite telling me the color would be darker with 2 coats. When I went to pay, I found out they charged me extra to take 2 snips off my cuticles charging me extra for "cuticle trimming". Shame on Galaxy Nails & Spa! Needless to say, I was taken advantage of. Have had a few manicures here and they always did a really good job - very friendly and have a large selection of shellac colors to chose from. I went on vacation the beginning of this month and decided to get a pedicure, unfortunately I will not be going back. I ended up getting an infection in my big toe, had to see my doctor twice and was put on oral and topical antibiotics. Thankfully I was still able to go on my trip but definitely put a damper on the beginning of the trip due to it being tender to walk on. So be careful if you get a pedicure here! read more

This used to be my go to place up until I moved. I always had Lac, he was sooo sweet and did amazing work! Along with Sami, she was awesome! Today, I was visiting town and decided to make an appt for a pedicure and manicure. As soon as I walked in, it was all new girls who Ive never seen before, totally fine. I told them what colors and design I wanted and the girl said she could do it. The girl doing my toes was completely butchering them. I asked her to fix some edges and this is where I almost decided to just up and walk out. Speaking Vietnamese, they called me difficult. The girl doing my fill was doing a great job on the shape, but then she would also call me difficult. I always feel bad asking nail techs to fix things so every time, I would say, "I'm so sorry, but could you fix ____". I had to keep asking the lady doing my toes to fix the lines and they would proceed to talk about me in Vietnamese. I eventually just asked her to wipe the whole design off and give me a plain color. The lady doing my fill was definitely rushing and not caring about the work at all. She then proceeded to look at the clock and say its almost closing time, so I can't do this design. I can't believe she would offer to do it if she wasn't even going to go through with it! The lines were very messy and rushed, I have never had to ask someone to fix every single one of my nails because of messy lines. The sides of my nails were not fully covered either so I had to ask her to touch that up. She would let out a huge huff or sigh every time I asked her to fix it! I also heard them say in Vietnamese that I whine and complain too much and the one doing my nails even said she was about to hit me once. Sad to see this place have awful service and awful work after loving it for all of my high school years. On top of that, I got charged the price of a full set instead of just a fill! Usually like this place...but I went last week and paid $90+ for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure... she didn't spend much time doing it, no massage, no lotion.... I noticed her nails were on point and I feel like she was trying to make sure her nails weren't getting "messed up". Less than a week later ALL of my polish has peeled off (which is VERY unusual.....) I will never go back. Unfortunate because I have had good experience there, but to pay almost $100 for something that lasts less than a week is not something I will do again... :-/ read more
