When I started going to this what USED to be absolutely amazing nail salon I couldn't have been more happier! Now I am so very saddened over the fact that this salon had been sold and now has new owners to which I am blown away by the fact that when I was unaware that Galaxy nails was now under new ownership I had called to make an appt with my usual girl Sami who btw is the only one I have found in the many years of having my nails done to have done it correctly and to my liking she always has gone above and beyond to do exactly as I have ask always professional always happy to see me even on the busiest of days was no longer there. When I called to make my usual appt I was told she was no longer there and had moved that she was at home packing which was no the truth at all I was able to personally contact her as she and I had become friends and she then corrected what the new owner of Galaxy Nails had LIED to me about her moving she had not moved out of state as I was told and I'm am so very thankful she hasn't because I was able to have her do my not so easy to do nails thank goodness! So if you have been one of the fortunate ones such as myself and have had Sami do your nails PLEASE do not listen to anyone currently at this shop as they know nothing about Sami's life!!! So to the current new owners of what USED to be an exceptional nail salon get your facts strait! I am updating my review of this nail salon because the owner, Lac, reached out to say he would correct my gel polish done a few days earlier by one of the ladies in his shop. I went into the salon and was greeted by Lac who redid my polish and offered to change the color on all. I accepted and thanked him for reaching out as most do not and I assured him I would update my review. He did a nice job and assured me he always stood behind the work done in his salon. I was pleased when I left. But, then I saw he had changed his response to me stating that the woman who did my previous fill & polish had spent a "long" time on my nails and that I was due for a new set of nails. (She was in the salon when I went in for the correction) she never once looked at me or gave me any kind of recognition when I was there but obviously spoke to Lac after I left. The full set I had on and still have on was only put on 2 weeks prior to my visit with her and I am in no way ready for a new full set. The fact he changed his response to me was offputting and incorrect. She spent no special or extra time on my nails than was needed, which was a basic fill on a 2 week old full set. I did increase my review to 4 stars because I believe Lac is very good at what he does. But I took a star off due to his response. read more

This place is great! We just moved to the area and I was searching for a nail salon... it's almost sandal time, HAVE to start getting my feet prepped!!! I LOVE this place, CLEAN, everyone is so cheerful and friendly! I think what won me over was the plastic covering they placed over the area you soak your feet in, they change it out and throw it away for every customer! That's awesome! I wish I remembered the name of the woman who did my pedicure, super sweet! She didn't rush and was quite meticulous during her entire process (or it could be my feet needed a LOT of work, Hahahaha!) I'm really picky when it comes to how my nails are done. I needed a fill and nail repair for three nails. I had asked a friend for a recommendation because I was not familiar with the area and she had recommended Galaxy Nails as her #1 location. Galaxy Nails did not disappoint. The location is clean and very pretty. The technicians were friendly! I had asked for a fill ($30) and it was done amazingly! The gel wasn't too thick and the shape was kept perfectly. I went with a lime green color which is out of my comfort zone, and it turned out great! I usually have a hard time finding a nail tech that I trust in WA. I found one now that I will be returning to when I'm in Lacey for the weekend. Awesome job! read more

Tried out this nail salon on a whim because of the decent reviews on here, and I was absolutely amazed by the nail technician, Lac, who did a fill for me. I have never had anyone pay such close attention to detail when doing my nails and they came out beautifully. They were pretty busy at the time (Friday afternoon) so I recommend making an appointment beforehand. They got me in for a manicure with no wait even though I didn't have an appointment. Friendly workers, beautifully decorated space, and it doesn't have the crazy strong chemical scent that many nail places do. I've been coming here for the past 6 months, usually as a drop-in, with no issues. Today, a Friday, I came in around 2 p.m. I could see they were busy, and I was asked if I could make an appointment at 3:30. I did, and I returned at that time. I sat waiting for 30 minutes. During that time not one person in the shop gave me an update. It was if I were a ghost. At 4 p.m. I stood up and said I had to go. One of them asked if I could wait just a little longer, and I pointed out that I had already been waiting for 30 minutes and that I had other obligations. Besides this rudeness of not keeping me in the loop as to when they could take me, I saw that the place is actually quite dirty and run-down. I really felt badly for the tropical fish in the tank, which was green with slime. I decided that was it, I am going elsewhere from now on. I hope that the owner of Galaxy Nails reads this. You have lost hundreds of dollars that I used to spend here, as I was a regular customer. read more

Awesome and caring staff. Walked in to get a gel manicure. The young female by the name of "Heidi" helped me out. She did not rush through the process and took the time and care on my nails. She even gave me a shoulder massage at the end. Based on so many good reviews, I was completely willing to try Galaxy. I didn't have to wait too long, but when I sat down at a chair I saw a sticker on the counter that said something very close to, "Let us know before we begin if you plan on tipping". This is odd and inappropriate. As if they only plan on doing a good job if I confirm I'm tipping? I told the woman doing my nails that I wanted short, round, and "very natural". She initially cut the excess off with the regular clippers to a length I said was okay. Then, without asking, she went in with small scissors and cut almost the entire reminder of the tip off. I thought maybe they'd be pretty short, but would look okay after she shaped them. She continued, and they had a shape that looked okay. Then, again, without asking, she continued to shape them even more and made them look like silly, super round stubs. They were completely unnatural. I told her I was unhappy with this. She called over another woman who tried to tell me what I wanted, when I told her that I wanted them to be round and natural. She tried to say that we should make them more square, but I stated again that there was no length at the tip of the nail to file because she cut all of it off. I'd also like to point out that while I was trying to discuss all of this with the woman who came over to help, the woman doing my nails just spoke over me the entire time in her own language. They weren't listening to anything I was saying. She literally threw her hands in the air and blamed me. It was so awkward and rude. I asked politely if they could just remove them. I also asked if I would be charged for this. They discussed between themselves and said it would be $20 to remove them, and the full $40 if I kept them. Since I didn't want to be there any longer, I said it was okay to just finish them. So, ultimately, I left with ridiculous looking nails for full price after I wasn't listened to and was treated unkindly. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I'm from la and usually have a hard time find a new nail place. I was dying for a fill. Found this gem on yelp.. they went above and beyond to make me happy! Lao killed it and made me extremely happy! I wish I could have him do my nails in Cali he is awesome, professional, and talented ! I'm not one who really cares on how the gel comes out.. but I'm am very particular on the shape of my acrylics! This salon has exceeded my expectations! The other girl who did the gel polish was just an added bonus cause she did exactly what i asked for. Clean nail salon, great customer service, and very professional The only one negative thing is my pedicure was not that great... I looked closely once I got home. my toenail shape isn't even and color was very spotty and uneven ... The one guy that works there is by far the best. I just got my nails done and the woman who did them was bossy and seemed to be rushing the whole process. There wasn't even anyone else in the fucking store? I've had my nails done there before and it's been fine but for some reason this woman didn't know what she was doing and then pretended like she did, wasting my money and my time. On top of that, the gel nail polish she used on top of my nails is warped/has holes and little bubbles in it/is extremely thick so it makes my nails look fucking ridiculous. It's clear she did not care about what I wanted at all. I showed her images of what I wanted, if she couldn't do it she should have just told me so I could go elsewhere. Also they seem to never actually go down to the cuticle so that you have to come in more frequently. Fucking scam. read more

Hot a stellar gel manicure and full regular pedicure here. The pedicure was especially good with a very long leg and foot massage and the nails were done perfectly and have held up. The tools were being opened out of sanitation packages, and they used tub liners which was great. The manicurist did a nice job with my nails and they held up for about two weeks which I would say is standard for a gel manicure. Overall this is definitely my new go to place to get my nails done! read more
