We started with the white anchovy appetizer which consisted of 3 toothpicks with an olive wrapped in an anchovy, something you would find in a martini and not an appetizer. The lamb chops and the fish of the day were both overcooked and appetizer sized, but with entree pricing. The carrot cake dessert wasn't even a cake but a dried out cruller sitting on some cream cheese. The wine list was nothing to remember and equally overpriced. We won't be back.

He opted for a big cube, he got two of these. The bartender this time was a guy with tattoos, not super friendly but he was ok. I asked for the espresso martini again. I got one without the whipped cream, he said I didn't order the right one. I should have ordered the "Josh's"espresso martini. I didn't have that issue last time but ok...he didn't ask which one I preferred so whatever. Then we get the bill... Here's where it got interesting. We were charged $2 each time for the big ice cube and $3 for adding whipped cream to my martini. I'm sorry...what?? You are charging $2 for ice?? And $3 for a squirt of whipped cream?? YIKES! We struck up a conversation with ladies at the bar and showed them the bill. One of them told a female employee, perhaps possible owner that it's things like this that make people not come want to back. I don't understand how a new establishment trying to make it would be so transparent on nickel and diming people like this. The atmosphere is very nice, they are mostly friendly but it makes me rethink going back. It's not about the few dollars it's the principle of the matter. The night drew on, more wine ensued, more food, multiple conversations, and I completed reading through each page and wine choice...finding much to be recognised and appreciated (Kirwan, Moric, Georg Breuer to name but a few) At the end of the night, I asked Jacqueline to pick an appropriate nightcap. She not only delivered, but gave us a wonderful story including the provenance and her experiences - ultimately, the word genius came up more than once. The wait staff checked on us many times to make sure everyone got their food and that our water cups were full. The outside of Mirabelle is beautiful, and we saw it being set up for a baby shower.
