    Delicious! Braised Boneless Short Rib.

Fabulous food! I got their short ribs and that were melt in your mouth delicious. My husband got fish that he said was cooked just right. Their chocolate mousse cake is to die for!! Service was good. They said they will be redoing their decor, so hopefully that will improve the dated look they have now. Regardless, best restaurant I've been to in the area in a long time.

We were seated promptly at our reservation time and felt welcomed by the hostess. Once seated delicious bread, served with whipped butter and bruschetta were immediately brought to the table while we looked over the menu. For appetizers we had the risotto rice balls (3) and baked clams oreganata, that were fresh and flavorful. Our main course was chicken franchese and spinach linguine (in garlic and oil). All delicious!!The portion size was so large we went home with a doggie bag. Our table was in Jeannie's room where we felt a cozy family vibe. Our server was attentive and pleasant during our dining experience. All in all, I highly recommend Frankie's 823. 5star Debra B

Absolutely phenomenal. As a major foodie that travels East & West, Frankies823 was without a doubt Fantastic. Not only the outstanding service but the food is amazing. Frankie goes over the abundance of great specials that you become overwhelmed of their menu. Tuna tartare special great, even the bread selection they give you is like being back in the city with prosciutto bread basket served with homemade butter, olives etc amazing. Ceasar salad great, baked clams excellent. Halibut special and surf & turf special with abundant 9oz filet mignon cooked perfectly and lobster tail tender and succulent for its size. Dessert included crème brûlée and pistachio truffle all good. Frankie is killing it, get your reservations in you won't be able to get in here once the word gets out. Thanks for an awesome meal.

Date night out with my husband, we had gift cards so decided to come here. Place is small and cozy, with a separate room for parties. Service was excellent. We were seated quickly and got water and bread without having to ask for it. For appetizers my husband and I both had the special - lobster bisque with crabmeat. Huge portion and very good. For dinner, I had the Pappardelle pasta & boneless short rib. Really nice one dish meal, and the short rib had delicious flavor. My husband had the fresh fettuccine & filet mignon. He said for an Italian place, the steak was very good. Both dishes were very filling. For dessert I had the pistachio truffle and my husband had the chocolate flourless cake. Cake was rich but the ice cream complemented it nicely. The pistachio truffle was beautifully presented and had excellent flavors. Overall, the meal was excellent, and service was good too. I would definitely come back again.

Finally got back to a long standing neighborhood classic after many years courtesy of gift cards from a good friend. Accommodated us without a reservation and had a great spot near the fireplace. Restaurant was decorated nicely and service was excellent. Maple old fashion to start with our burrata salad with crispy prosciutto, accompanied by the delicious warm bread which they kindly provided extra! My special basil encrusted halibut was delicious as was the pappardelle and short ribs. Finished with a very nice cocoa tartuffo. Definitely heading back and not waiting so long!.

I ordered 2 pasta dishes for pick up. I paid $52, I thought the price was high and the food quality was average.

Explained to us how dinners in Italy work and answered any questions we had. The cheese wheel pasta is a show stopper and I love how everything is explained during the process. The cheese wheel is 2 years old and all wine is imported straight from Italy. My tagliatelle pasta was absolutely delicious. Although it looked like a small dish, it was very filling. The chocolate soufflé was cooked fresh (15 min to be exact!) Great dinner

Wasn't thrilled about being sat against a wall, which made service a little difficult - some dropped food (slices of strip off the porterhouse fumbled as server tried slipping in, and he also dripped some sauce on my utensils/tablecloth in front of me) - minor things. We were four people, split two pastas and two mains after apps of zucchini flowers, octopus, barata / prosciutto salad, and a lamb skewer special. The strips of lamb where most underwhelming. For $30 i'd expect noticeably more tender meat, a premium cut (loin or rack), vs what seemed like maybe leg cooked too long, or maybe it was shoulder? Seasoning missed the mark, for me. Pasta course was the Parma wheel and gnocchi Amatriciana - the guanciale had that 'butcher' taste I like, a little soft vs crisped, but that's a feature in some styles. Pasta was clearly fresh. Then a beautiful piece of sea bass - really a standout - and the smaller ~32oz steak Florentine - a lean cut with a tremendous filet on it. All the vegetables, tomatoes, beans, pesto's accompanying the dishes were otherwise delicious. Deserts were great, don't pass on the gelato or sorbets.

Recently, I decided to give it another shot on two separate times, and some of their specialty pies: the vodka pizza with a garlic knot crust and the trio pizza (pesto, marinara, and vodka). I'll start with the positives--service was friendly and welcoming, which definitely made the experience more pleasant. And to be fair, the flavors across the pies were actually pretty good. The sauces complemented each other well. That said, the biggest issue--was the dough. It was noticeably undercooked which made the slices a bit doughy and hard to enjoy. On top of that, the pizza was quite greasy, which didn't help the overall texture. The undercooked dough stood out enough that it took away from what could have been a really solid pie. Another small note: the dining area looked like it could've used a quick sweep. Not a huge deal, but something that affects the overall impression when you walk in. I wouldn't completely write this place off, because the flavors are there and the staff is friendly. If I give it another try, I'd probably stick with a regular pie or maybe a Sicilian and specifically ask for it to be cooked well done. I think that could make a big difference.

Ooo thank you Yelp for helping me find this gem!…read more Small dark restaurant with limited tables and a long bar & stools and cool view of the wood-fired brick oven pizza. Everything was delicious and fresh, I only wished I lived close to this place because I would eat here all the time. Monday night dinner and only a few tables were filled which seemed strange to me since the food was A+, but the takeout was poppin. We started with 6 garlic knots. If you think you only need 6...you are wrong. You need 12, I'm serious! Such warm, crusty, garlicky goodness, they were gone in 60 seconds and we had to order more. - Caprese salad had perfectly ripe yellow and red tomato with a seriously gigantic ball of buffalo mozz - Caesar salad was a little too heavy on the dressing - fresh pasta so good! Papparadella with pesto and fresh mozz & rigatoni bolognese. Flavorful sauces! - Forresta pizza crust was so perfectly thin & crispy and the prosciutto was shaved thin and cooked crispy. Great combo with the arugula - sadly they were out of the tiramasu and sorbet so we tried a cannoli and it was very large filled with rich creamy ricotta and chocolate chips - thanks to a fellow yelper find...they have Mexican Coke!
