    FRANKIES 823 table starter!

It is no longer Villa Sorrento, but it is called Frankie's 823, if you haven't been here, please come support this local restaurant. The food is amazing and the service is just as good! I promise you will not be disappointed! And if you're lucky enough, Frankie himself will read off the specialist list to you, which is super long!

Date night out with my husband, we had gift cards so decided to come here. Place is small and cozy, with a separate room for parties. Service was excellent. We were seated quickly and got water and bread without having to ask for it. For appetizers my husband and I both had the special - lobster bisque with crabmeat. Huge portion and very good. For dinner, I had the Pappardelle pasta & boneless short rib. Really nice one dish meal, and the short rib had delicious flavor. My husband had the fresh fettuccine & filet mignon. He said for an Italian place, the steak was very good. Both dishes were very filling. For dessert I had the pistachio truffle and my husband had the chocolate flourless cake. Cake was rich but the ice cream complemented it nicely. The pistachio truffle was beautifully presented and had excellent flavors. Overall, the meal was excellent, and service was good too. I would definitely come back again.

Finally got back to a long standing neighborhood classic after many years courtesy of gift cards from a good friend. Accommodated us without a reservation and had a great spot near the fireplace. Restaurant was decorated nicely and service was excellent. Maple old fashion to start with our burrata salad with crispy prosciutto, accompanied by the delicious warm bread which they kindly provided extra! My special basil encrusted halibut was delicious as was the pappardelle and short ribs. Finished with a very nice cocoa tartuffo. Definitely heading back and not waiting so long!.

Went there for a function with a group. The service was great. I have some food allergies. The waiter was very accommodating. The bread was fresh, the salad and steak was decent. It was a prefix so I think the portion size was probably Not what it would be if we came in for a regular dinner. We will definitely come back on our own.

Villa Sorrento. I enjoyed the atmosphere as much as the food. The Chicken Sorrentino. It was delicious, don't avoid this dish! The salad and the seared tuna are both a go to as well, the owner is nice and the service is bomb.

I ordered 2 pasta dishes for pick up. I paid $52, I thought the price was high and the food quality was average.

Jeanne waited on us. She was extremely friendly outgoing and kind. She answered any of our questions about the menu and made some drink suggestions. Our food was served very quickly and the portions are huge. My son had a hungry man burrito and I had the Mac and cheese short ribs. I took home my Mac and cheese short rib and I am on my 3rd attempt at finishing it! My son's burrito was so large I wasn't sure how he was going to get that in his mouth. He was able to eat most of it. The home fries were nicely prepared and seasoned well! Our drink glasses were never empty. I watched the staff and they were constantly engaging with customers. You felt like you were visiting a friend's home. I watched them celebrate someone's birthday, greet regular customers and every customer was given a warm acknowledgment. This place deserves all the hype it receives and I'm sad it has taken me so long to try it!

We visited on Mother's Day, so there was a wait, and it seemed like they were a little understaffed since there were empty tables where we were eventually seated. The food was excellent. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with home fries, and the home fries were honestly the highlight of the meal. I could have eaten a whole plate of them. The prices are a bit high, so it's more of a special occasion spot for me, but the quality makes it worth it. I also loved the interior, which has a nice mix of modern and farmhouse style. My only complaint was that the music was way too loud. I could barely hear my wife sitting right next to me. Other than that, we had a great experience

The Waiter agreed and recleaned the table. Orders were placed. Took 40 mins for our food to come out. The other people in my party made modifications to their order and I ordered exactly as it was listed on the menu . After waiting for 40 minutes for the food, my order the unmodified one was completely wrong. We tried to tell the food runner, he ignored me and put the plate down. He walked away. We waved him back over and told him again this was not the order. He took it back and then went to speak to our waiter. He came over and said what happened? We explained this was not what I ordered. He then went and looked at something and then came back and said I will have them remake this. This whole process took long enough that my friends were already eating. 10 minutes later the food was still not out. I called the waiter back over and told him to just cancel it. He said the manager was coming and she came over a few minutes later with the food. I told her I didn't want the food I was too annoyed at that point to eat. She said take it home. What I had cannot be reheated. She said well I'll leave it here because I'm throwing it out either way. Crepes with fruit on top just don't reheat well! At the point that the manager finally came by to bring the food my friends were 90% done with their meals! Everytime I looked at this manager she was on her cell phone, talking, texting or staring at it. I went to the bathroom and came out of the stall and the manager was doing talk to text in the bathroom. Perhaps if she stayed off her phone orders wouldn't be getting screwed up or patrons would not be sat at dirty sticky tables! Her whole attitude and demeanor ruined our whole experience there. She truly didn't seem to care. My friends picked at my dish but I was too annoyed to eat. I have eaten at Toast in Patchogue and Bayshore and enjoyed both experiences on every occasion that I have been there. I have eaten at this Toast three different times and every time I have left disappointed by the service but this is by far the worst! For all that aggravation she took my meal off and that was it. So thank you for ruining our nice girls lunch!

From talking on the phone, I could tell this is a family-owned business and they pry on giving great customer service. Walking in, we were immediately greeted to our table. There were other patrons and I could sense that these are probably local, life-long customers. So from that point, I get a sense of camaraderie with the owners and patrons. Seated down, we were offered pita bread with tzatziki sauce along with chick pea salad. I had ordered the beef and lamb gyro with rice as my side and a small Greek salad. They gyro itself was fine, and my only comment is I wish the pita bread was softer. My son got the pastitsio which is almost kind of like lasagna. He didn't enjoy that all too much and felt it was too creamy. My wife got the Athenian tilapia with mushrooms and rice, along with a chicken lemon soup. She enjoyed her dish and commented on how temperature hot that is...which is a good thing. All in all, I would give it 3 strong stars based on this visit as I was expecting more from my gyro and the same for my son with his entree. Their customer service definitely is to be commended for.
