    Dip platter

Located on the top floor of the nest, the Gallery is a restaurant/bar in one of the most convenient locations on campus. The entire restaurant is nicely decorated, with comfortable furniture and a nice causal atmosphere. Great for chatting, but maybe a bit loud for studying or doing anything productive. My friend and I came here during happy hour, where they have 5 dollar dip platters and select drinks on discount. My mojito was pretty good, and the various dips were surprisingly delicious. The service is pretty nonexistent, you basically seat yourself, you pay for your drinks at the counter and then go and pick them up yourselves once it's ready. Overall this is probably the best place to relax after classes, and the patio is a great place to grab some drinks and forget about the stress of upcoming midterms and exams.

One of my favourite restaurants/ places to eat on UBC campus. The gallery 2.0 serves a variety of snacks, meals at an affordable price. Usually busy around meal times but doesn't get too full. We ordered the shepherds pie and fried chicken burger and I have to say the gallery Po'boy was amazing. Probably one of the best fried chicken I've ever had. The food portion is generous for the price compared to point grill. Service was good although food came a bit slow (15-20 mins). Gets a bit dark at night - really only candles and dim light in the restaurant. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu!

As a student its super convenient. I'd recommend the gallery as a catch location when you haven't seen your friend in forever, group hangout or even a date. The decor is cute, you feel classy but also don't feel the need to impress. It definitely isn't the most affordable place on campus, but the location is very centralized. The fries were sweet and salty and the view was gorgeous. What can I say other than I'd go back during happy hour, but probably not anytime soon otherwise. Solid 4/5 for happy hour 3-3.5/5 any other time of day

Being a UBC Alumni with the old Student Union Building, this new UBE Nest is the ultimate upgrade. And with an eatery at the top 4th floor with an outdoor patio is a cherry on top! The interior of Gallery 2.0 is saturated with natural light and a beautiful range of seating from booths, common tables, couch seating and an outdoor patio. The menu had a range of pub like food and lots of drink options. My boyfriend and I just wanted a snack, so we decided on the All-day Breakfast Sandwich ($3.95) with a side of fries ($2). We chose our spot with our number in hand and we grabbed a pot of ice water for our table too. The major downside, as stated in other reviews as well, was the wait. It was a Monday early evening but it took 25 minutes to get our 2 breakfast sandwiches and fries! What is even more disappointing was that the food wasn't even hot. Regardless, everything tasted good. The breakfast sandwich had a crispy english muffin and real cheddar cheese and a decent slice of ham. The fries were typical but good too. Overall, very very nice atmosphere but the wait time was a killer for the mood, especially if you're hungry.

They're system is awful. We have to wait for an hour for the food that never came. At the end we just got a refund and left

Koerner's Pub has everything you need to decompress after a stressful study session or exam. Serving the best, soft shell, gluten free tacos on campus, I was hooked after my first visit! I could barely finish one, let alone 3 because of how large they were! It really reminded me of a college town since we were farther away from the city. I liked that there were high rise student buildings but a lot of greenery. I could see a lot of parks/walking trails. The hotel/studio itself was okay. Check in was easy. I think parking was $16-18 a day. The total for our room was $180 Canadian dollars (about $140 a night/US). I think it is on the more expensive side since the room was very basic and small. It was just big enough for our family of three but beyond that, it would be very very tight. They had a kitchennette next to the bed. I guess that could be useful if you're a student staying for longer than a day. The elevators weren't working on the day that we arrived. We had to wait like 10 min to get on the elevator to take us to the 6th floor. For a basic hotel, it was decent but priced on the higher side. I guess the room rate is considered cheap for Vancouver though.

The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the food? So much of it. We actually had to take some home, which almost never happens with high tea. The pastries and sandwiches were not only beautifully presented, but also creative and well-executed--nothing felt like filler. You can tell there was real thought put into the menu. The space itself is elegant and charming, making it perfect for a pre-spring outing, a catch-up with friends, or a low-key celebration. Would I come back? Absolutely--especially for a themed menu like this.

It was served in a scalding hot bowl. The rice was crispy at the bottom and I was amazed at how well it retained its heat. The patio itself is in a beautiful spot and they've added patio heaters, which makes it comfortable even when it's a bit cooler outside. The food was good overall, and the menu is what you'd expect from Earls -- solid options with something for everyone. Unfortunately, the patio cleanliness took away from the experience. When we sat down, there was bird poop on my cutlery and water glass, which meant I had to ask the manager to replace them. After that, they brought out another glass that had bird poop on it. So, I also had to ask for the entire table setting to be refreshed so everyone had clean utensils and glasses. To make matters worse, there was bird poop on the couch cushion as well. I understand patios can be tricky with birds around, but it did feel like the table area should have been checked and cleaned before seating guests. Overall, it's still a nice patio, dog-friendly, and the food was good, but I'd recommend the staff do a more thorough check of the outdoor seating before guests are seated to avoid situations like this. The patio heaters and location are definitely nice perks, though.
