Hands down the worst service I have ever received. We came in for dinner and trivia, we didn't know we had to reserve seating for trivia but we had no issues with moving to the back dining room for dinner. Our waitress, Debra, was the most unfriendly human I've ever come in contact with. Had we not gotten drinks from the bar we would still be thirsty. We are heavy tippers in general but couldn't even bare to tip with how we were treated. We tried to flag her down multiple times and she turned her back to us. Absolute disgrace for the service industry. Not to mention the length of time it took to get our food. read more

This restaurant is within walking distance from work but I really only decided to try it because I got a gift card. The internal layout is a bit strange because there is a dining area and bar at street level, but when you take the steps down, there is another dining area. I took the lower level since the light there looked better for food photography. I'm not a great judge of Italian food and I wasn't even sure that what I ordered was Italian food, but I did know that the portion size was big and hearty. I had the hot sausage with roasted peppers and onions with fries. I didn't want to order anything that I could find at other kinds of restaurants, so this seemed like a good choice. It was indeed pretty good. Also, service was rather good, even though I got there at an odd hour and they were probably approaching a shift change. I definitely would go there again and try something else from the menu, gift card or no gift card. My only concern about this restaurant is they don't seem to have any parking other than street parking. I don't mind because I can just walk there from work but other folks may have to take this into consideration. read more

I am legitimately sad, I am a strong supporter of local small businesses, especially in Trolley Sq since I own a home within walking distance.. Entered the restaurant around 7 pm on 3.13. When you walk in you are unsure if you should seat yourself or wait to be seated. No one greeted us, not even the bartender who is 2 feet away. We had to ask if we should seat ourselves- ok not a big deal, but it is customer service 101. When we were greeted by our waitress we asked what she had on tap, she had NO idea...and started to say umm so to make her feel comfortable we asked if she had Blue Moon- no, Reds Apple Ale- no, we ran out a while ago. So we settled for a Yuengling... The menus were OK nothing to rave about, the food was typical bar food, not what I expected for an Italian Restaurant. I ordered the chicken tenders and asked for buffalo sauce to be on them. BIG MISTAKE. MY bf ordered a meatball parm. The chicken tenders were legit, microwaved... not fried, at all. They were so floppy that when I picked one up, it fell right over. I am not a food snob by any means, but I could not eat these. They were mushy and the sauce was horrific. The blue cheese was the consistency of ranch dressing, blue cheese is supposed to be thicker with CHUNKS of blue cheese it in. I was so grossed out that I actually asked the waitress to take my food away. On top of that, they charge $9 for these chicken tenders... that a 5 year old probably would not even enjoy. If you compare these chicken tenders to any other bar in Trolley Sq they are a 1 and the others are a 9. The meatball parm had meatballs so small that the bread totally engulfed them, it was actually funny. I make better meatballs that I purchase in bulk from Costco, and even those are larger! The atmosphere is not appeasing- the "dim lighting" is not romantic, it is cheap, they have spot lights as lighting. The whole restaurant needs a huge overhaul. I unfortunately will not be eating here again. I called after I left hoping to speak to a manger, the response was "he is busy". I asked for the owners email address and they said call back tomorrow. I am not writing this to bash this restaurant; I am writing this in hopes that the owner will see this and push for change. You have a lot of competition in Trolley Sq and you will certainly not make it with the standards you currently have for wait staff/food/atmosphere, and I truly feel bad because this is someone's lively hood. read more

One of the other reviewers here left a 3-star review based on the pizza alone; that's a shame, as (IMO) it may be the weakest thing on the menu, and it's not bad at all. My family comes to this place all the time, you'll find us in the back room overeating and talking with our hands. I've yet to order anything I didn't like, but as mentioned, the pizza can be a bit thin with a LOT of toppings, to it's a bit too droopy for my tastes. The rest of the selection, however, is really good. We've been here at least a dozen times in the past 12 months alone, so I've had a lot on their menu. Plus my last name ends in a vowel so I'm obviously an authority on Italian cuisine. Let me mention one thing: those goddamn salads. Wow, they are amazing. A lot of places get antipasto wrong, but this place does it really well for whatever reason. The live music is also really good, but be wary of sitting directly next to the stage as it can get kind of loud. I've actually never sat at the bar, so no comments there. tl;dr - Maybe the pizza is only 'okay', but the rest of this place is great. read more

I was craving pizza and in the Wilmington area, so I googled "Pizza Wilmington, De" and this is what I came up with that wasn't a chain. I can only comment on the pizza, since that's all I had. We had the portabello mushroom, tomato, feta, basil, and provolone pizza. While not the best I've ever had, it was quite good. The mushrooms were the best part, as they tasted like they'd been marinated in something and were very flavorful. The crust, while good, was nothing special. The rest of the menu had some sandwiches and salads that I would possibly be interested in. There was also pasta, it being an Italian restaurant, but none of it really caught my eye. I think it's worth going back and checking it out for the other menu items if I'm in the area. I'd be willing to try anything there with mushrooms, since the ones on the pizza were really good. The service was good. The food arrived quickly and fresh, and the server was friendly. According to the menu they do Karaoke on Saturday nights and sometimes have live bands. There are also different menu specials throughout the week. I can't remember which night is which, but stuff like half price burgers and half price pizzas. My only gripes, are the lack of a parking lot (you have to find parking on the street), and how dark the place was inside. For a place that is not that expensive. I went there Today with 4 people from work, we ordered 2 large pizza's and a Cheese steak Stromboli. We did not finish the last 3 pieces of pizza. Everything was good, the pizza was not great, but it was very good. It's very hard for any place to get great pizza, because it's hard to change it's flavor so much that one really stand out from all the others. Anyway, very good pizza, but the best thing is the surroundings, it's way better to eat in this place than most other restaurants with the Chain like decor, this is truly a local eats place. Before I went, I was a bit concerned, the place had just sold to a new owner, and I could not find any reviews of how it's doing with the new owners, so I decided maybe I better post a review, so others can see how I enjoyed this place. Nice place for delivery or eat in in the bar section. Food is good, typical pizza joint menu. Steak sammies/hoagies are very good, especially when you eat there. The bar itself is nice. In the last week I have eaten here twice. I had: Italian Hoagie. It was perfect. Good balance of meat, cheeses, roll and oil. Best hoagie I have had in quite a while. The roll wasn't overpowering, and neither were the meat, cheese and olive oil. Italian Festival Panzerotti. This was an excellent choice. Light, airy and flaky crust. Fried to perfection. The filling was great. Mozzarella Sticks. These too were stupendous. The cheese was velvety and delicious. Not like other places that seem to serve string cheese battered and fried. Buffalo fingers. These were ok. Not very saucy. I am sure if I had asked for "light my hair on fire" sauce, they would have been accommodating. The blue cheese was also ok. Regular chicken fingers. This is the best part. They were out of their normal chicken fingers. Rather than just take it off my order, they hand cut fresh boneless chicken breast, battered and seasoned them and fried them perfectly. The honey mustard was spot on also! This is a great place. The bar now features great craft brews, the staff is friendly and courteous, and the regulars aren't your normal "what are you doing in my bar" crowd. Everyone is welcome and there is a ton of fun to be had. They are doing something right down here on Lovering Ave and you need to see it for yourself. There is always some entertainment in the form of live music. Mondays are a good night to get your rock on, and Friday always feature an acoustic show. There is music on Thursday, and they even have something for Sundays when the fun needs continue past Saturday night. Do yourself a service and check this place out. read more

Stopped in for dinner on Sunday around 7:30, not a single person in the place. Should of been a sign! Large bar, with adjacent dining room. Heavy metal music was playing, not very Italian, lol. I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese, it was a huge bowl of pasta, however it wasn't good, the sauce was bland, and had chunks of ground beef. Definitely not bolognese. Awful! Panzerottis were some baked concoction of a real panzarotti. It was raw inside with hardly any cheese and the cheese was not melted. The chicken cheesesteak was so dry it was inedible with barely any chicken and one dried up slice of cheese. The sweet potato fries were extremely greasy and had no dipping sauce. Sunday night around 6:30 pm and there was NO ONE at any of the dining tables, but the seats at the bar were taken. Should have taken that as a warning. No one greeted us, not even the bartender. She was too busy joking around with her drinking buddies. Waitress unfriendly. She could at least PRETEND to be happy to have a job. To make our dining experience complete, there was the distinct odor of urine in the air. Definitely will not be going back. A group of friends and I got together to say goodbye to a co-worker. A few of us sat out front and had a drinks while waiting on the rest of the group. Once more showed up we moved to the back patio. This back area has a huge tree that blocks the sunlight and very high block walls. The tables are your basic molded plastic and so are the chairs. It is absolutely dreary! There is nothing inviting about it. Why not make use of the tree and string some lights in it, maybe add some potted flowers or something - anything to make the area less sterile and cave like. On a side note, because I didn't actually have pizza this time, but I've read some of the posted reviews regarding pizza. I have to say that I totally agree that the pizza here is definitely not the best. We had it delivered to our home once and will never do so again. The crust tastes like it is a pre-made shell and not from fresh dough. The cheese tasted worse than the stuff similar to pizza kits your kids sell for fundraisers - you know, Joe Corby's. read more

My boyfriend and I get take out pizza and wings here quite often! Tonight I called in an order and the man was terribly rude on the phone. I let it slide just figured maybe he was busy (I am in the restaurant business so I can understand). However when I walked in the take out part, I knew exactly who took my order on the phone bc the same man making pizzas was equally as rude!!!! He seemed so annoyed that I came in or if the phone rang. He was slamming things around all over the kitchen! At first I thought it was an accident the first time and he just dropped something. Best pizza in the City of Wilmington in my opinion. Ask them to cook it crispy. Great specials too: Beat the Clock Mondays starts at 5pm. The time that you call is the price you pay for your take-out pizza. Also, $5 off all regular pizzas after 10pm...every night of the week. Wednesday is half price pizza day at the bar/rest. A staple in the area for who knows how long, was a bit dive-y but made the cut. New owners are making adjustments. It's not working yet. They changed the pizza recipe, arguably improving the crust and sauce a bit, but changing the cheese from all provolone to mozzarella. EVERY pizza place has mozz. The prov. was what made G's pizza different! The new owners could have at least compromised with a blend but now the joint is just another boring pizza place. The Italian selections I have tried on the menu are a little bit old-world compared to the Italian American style it once was. The pasta fagioli soup is literally just tomato sauce with ditalini- historically correct peasant food I guess, but not what I wanted out of a restaurant. Even with this authentico shift, the menu still has strange bar staples like cheesesteaks and chicken fingers. THIS is where they compromise? If you are going to change the style of a place, just go all-in for goodness sakes!! This mishmash is only attracting die-hard drinkers and random casualties of starvation from the nearby bar that offers no food at all. It's hard to take control of an old, failing restaurant like g's. I wish the best for the new owners, but until they up their game, it's a no go to Gallucio's for me. read more

Good selection of bottled beer, drafts ate somewhat more limited. Italian food served as pretty bland and just passable at best. LOVE THIS PLACE. Great food, great people and great atmosphere. They have live bands, karyoke on saturdays and the food is ALWAYS delicious. Bartenders Katie and Cami are the best(they even made a specialty drink just for me!). I have now become very good friends with them and the regulars! I ordered a burger and an order of onion rings, I paid $20.50. Then I get a burger with a couple of onion rings as a platter and am told I should have gotten a side of fries, as the fries come as a platter deal. Meanwhile no mention of this when I was ordering, I would have just got the platter with fries or asked to up charge for the onion rings. I now am told if I want I can let my burger and onion rings get cold while I wait for an order of fries that I didn't want in the first place, "for no additional charge ". I feel like I was charged for a burger with fries platter and an additional order of onion rings, but received a burger platter with onion rings for $20.50. I feel I ripped off and the guy working at the take out counter should learn how to communicate. The food would have gotten 3 stars but the terrible service is why I gave it 2 stars. EW EW EWWW! Gallucio's used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I have been going there since it opened. It has been over a year since I have eaten here and boy has the quality slipped. The service was awful. Our waitress took 10 minutes to get our drinks. Then My husband's cheesesteak came out cold, they didn't bring him the fries he ordered, and it seemed like a chore for our waitress to fix the problem. My fettuccini lacked seasoning and was very greasy. To top it all off, while we were still eating our waitress asked if she could leave our check because she was busy. no wonder there were only 4 tables in the whole restaurant. read more

Was one of my favorite lunch destinations for several years when I worked in the area. Basic bar and old diner interior, but I wasn't going there for the ambiance. The lunches were very good. The bowl of soup that comes with every lunch is excellent. Different soup each day. The Italian wedding soup is easily the best of that soup that I've ever had and anyone that I've spoke to that tried it says the same thing. The chicken and rice or noodle is also very good. Portions are good and taste great. Service is always fast and friendly. I've never been disappointed here. Even though I no longer work or live anywhere near this area, I still try to go here when I can for a simple, good tasting, no-nonsense lunch. read more

Honestly, 1 star is pretty generous. I had never been here before, but a friend wanted to go for his birthday on Saturday night. We were 1 of only 3 tables seated in the dining room and the service was just terrible. We barely saw our waitress and had to ask multiple times to have our drinks refilled. I can usually overlook poor service is the food is good, but it was barely palatable. The chicken nachos had hardly any cheese or chicken on them. The breaded shrimp were ok at best, some generic frozen shrimp that you can get literally anywhere. The wings were underdone, still pink in the middle, and had a ton of gristle. On top of that they were dry and had barely any sauce on them. The chicken cesar salad looked like it was made literally a week ago and my friend didn't even have one bite. The penne vodka was overdone and glue-like, with under-cooked giant pieces of bacon and a sauce that tasted that rancid butter. Simply inedible. I would never, ever eat here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
